Hmm... maybe rk dragon breath type is my best recomendation for you. However, gears will be a little expensive to start reaching lvl 170.
Opt for these:
God Eater dragon spear-100m
Fafnir scale-30m
Temp dex boots ea sol+temp ring-around 70m
Memento mori-30m
Red baby dragon hat-20m
+10 mysterious muffler-100m
These items can make u reach lvl 200 and do some instances

Sorry for responding late to this query... Mage class is a great class however you will need some specific gears to enjoy the class. for starters, prioritize getting a catherin von blood (price is below 100m). once you have this item, you can enjoy mage class.
also, do you have a phen card/accesory? i can give you one since i got one from my recent travel at the undersea temple.

The OCP gears are too OP for this game. They make solo play in very mobby areas possible.
