8:44 my favorite hieroglyphic is the the Face (second from the top) haha!
I like the technique of using a sanding stick to bring out the textured highlights.
You made excellent use of the small space you had to work with. When I make mine later this year I plan to go with much more real estate so I can pack in more detail. Doors. Columns. Hidden corners. Statues. Etc. thank you for making this video. You gave me inspiration and a few tricks I hadn’t thought of. Great work. I look forward to your future videos.

Man this Detolf dio is dope as hell. I thought about trying to do something like that a while back but my art skills are lacking big time. Honestly I know my limits, I can barely draw a straight line. Great job and keep up the good work and videos.
I really appreciate this kind words mate. Il be honest though, comments like this bother me. Because it means I've failed at my goal, which is to inspire those who don't believe they can do these things, in giving it a try. We only know our limits after we have tested ourselves to the max, but it's not just testing your own talents, it's also testing your perseverance in learning and practice in order to be better at it. But the WANT to do it, the drive.. that has to be there.

@@ProjectPiperCustoms No insult to you was intended by my comment, It is a work of art and I appreciate the work that you did on the dio. I agree with what you have said 100% but as a logical thinking man I know my skill level and what I can and cannot do and also what I have time for. just saying there is not a lack of motivation in me not be able to do what you accomplished. I know what I can do and what I cannot do. I watch your videos for a reason, which is to give me ideas for projects I can start and satisfactorily complete. I have completed many toy photography projects based upon your videos. Right now I am the Crawl phase of my diorama making process. I will hopefully soon be at the Walk phase and eventually be at the Run phase. When I am at that run level then i will try something like this but I am not there yet. All the things I do now are leading me down the path to where I will be able to something like that someday. We all know Rome was not built in a day. So you did your job you intended even if you do not realize it.

Thank you so much for the kind words mate 🙏 🙏 if I had the means to do that, I'd consider it. But it's not on the cards I'm afraid. I would encourage giving it a go with foamboard. New projects are in the works

This has made me want to try something similar but with the Predator ship from Predator 2. I just got the last member of the Lost Tribe and now I need a home for them

Amazing!! Do you have templates for your designs?
I'm afraid there are no templates for this. This was all concept. Measure the space of the area you want to use for your display, cut the foam accordingly and start sketching ideas. You can use the same format as mine. The hieroglyphics are in my sketchbook which I show. ⏸️ and you can use the designs. Each one measured 2cm x 2cm per tile.
