    I appreciate you touching on the rift in Cuba between Ocha and Ifa. I think more conversation about the politics of how that happened because traditionally Ifa and Ocha are intentionally interconnected in a checks and balances way, which is how society operates in “Yoruba”culture.

    Good morning, I am hija de Oduduwa. Ever sense I was a little girl and very sick my uncle; whom was also the family babalao taught me some things and showed me how to tend to my father and other spiritual entities. I learned a lot more in this video and I would love to go even further. I’ve recently dreamt with him and would like to get a better understanding of that.

    Greetings, @Joseph Baba Ife. I'm thankful for your videos explainings and clarifications. I hope you'll consider doing a video to speak to the difference between Odudua, feminine said to have once been mated to Obatala and also considered a primordial and the Oduduwa you reference in this video. I'm totally confused. Thanks in advance for the consideration.

    Thank you for your videos, I'm leaning so much, especially loved your video on Yemaya I'm marked to crown Yemaya. I read somewhere that odudawa turned into obbattala, and yembo turned into Yemaya. Please correct me if I'm wrong, and if it's true could you do a video to further explain.

      All of the orishas interacted with each other at one point or another. I read one time in the odu Baba Oyeku Meji Oduduwa and Babalu Aye live in the horizon when the sun sets and that this is the best time to invoke them.

    Aboru Aboye Baba Joseph! Awo Ifasunle here. I have a theory could be right, could be wrong it’s just speculation. ODUDUWA got thrown out of Mecca for still practicing the old ways of Arabian Polytheism, not Islam. He came to Yoruba Land and taught the people there those old ways which are strikingly similar to the Yoruba ways. He had a brilliant complexion because he was from an area of the world which at that time was dominated by 1 of the 5 Aryan groups so was for the most part white or light skinned arabic. Lest we forget The Prophet Muhammad had red hair and green eyes as imitated by present day sects of Islam. In my eyes this could be very plausible, but would make many people angry.

    I am so confused becasue I keep seeing Oduduwa as a female irunmole womb energy as well as a male living king Messiah figure? How is this possible? And it seems strange a man would be a womb energy?

    • @JosephBabaIfa
      @JosephBabaIfa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Difficult question to answer through this medium because the information that explains it can’t be shared publicly. Just know that they are both technically “right”, but if you are a child of Oduduwa, it is referring to the male aspect. Ifa never contradicts itself, it’s just that so many different incarnations are compiled within this literature that if certain key concepts aren’t clarified it can become confusing. Hope this helps. Blessings and thank you for the support!

      It seems like orishas can be understood as zodiac signs in a way. Like anyone born under the sign cancer / oshun does anything great this attribute can be given to oshun as one of the lives she has lived! And if a male does the same he will be known as a great male aspect of oshun/cancer. Today we look at famous people based upon their country and race instead of which energy is in their head. I'm just guessing

      No Oduduwa was a progenitor, not a woman or female. He is none of that. He was a man-diety hybrid. Yes he’s an extra person and that makes him Orisha. Orisha means Ori-sha....meaning Head Chooses Him. That means the chosen one. Head means Ori in Yoruba and it’s not literally head...but head as destiny. That means destiny chooses him. Hence Orisha isn’t something you can earn, it is given to you by Olodumare.(God) through your head (destiny).
      There’s a lot of Orishas in Yoruba Nations. Such as Orunmila, Obatala...etc. SEE THIS video by a Prof. Sophia - th-cam.com/video/Nrrpo4mxFkI/w-d-xo.html
