He sideloaded it, lol. He just used LZPlay to sideload GMS, google play services and google play store. It doesn’t come with them out of the box. I had to do this to my friend’s Mate 30 Pro.

the main source of getting phones (at least in Canada) is through plans with service providers. the service provider will likely not take a phone that doesn't have google services. the other way to buy these phones are online, but unless you're a die hard huawei fan, you probably won't.

there is another interesting function in mate 30 pro that if you get new message on the top of the screen with the detail information while another people come to the front of the screen, the message itself will disappear from the top of the screen because the camera detect second eyes.

Amin Zahedi Still won’t work on VPN. The issue is that it’s not certified by Google, so their servers won’t recognize it.
There’s a very shady Chinese website out there that does let you install Google Play Services, but you have to give full control of your device to them permanently.
There’s no way to win here.

I Live in a sanctioned country and I use every single google app by VPN here .. + there are a lot of third party Store apps that are on par if not better than google Play Store in term of quality ..+ u can install non-certified apps on android if u want . hell people are even using apple devices and services in my country with typical VPN .

I actually decided to buy this, based on new information. I am actually able to run Google on the Mate 30 Pro. Just downloaded an App that became available at a later point. Apps on the Huawei App Market are improving. Impressive device

I mean, with *Google play protect* from playstore, rather it is *pre-installed* or *side-loaded* , Google got you( scan your phone for "protection or spy, so don't you worry.)

Somehow I've managed to install GMS on my mate30 pro and TH-cam and other apps relying on GMS work quite well on my device. Though the installation might be a little complicated.

Really unfortunate not being able to have the full Android experience on this phone. Face unlock is the same as the mate 20 pro, which is the best among Android phones. Battery life is just amazing. Some stepbacks from the 20 pro though. Loss of stereo speakers and quadHD resolution. If it was available with full Android, would have already bought it

Hauwei is such a great company to build phones. I had the honor 8x and I was completely amazed of how much features they cram into their phones. Shame that there’s a ban on their products.

As I'm watching this from my HUAWEI Mate 20 lite. I really am going to miss my ability to use Huawei phones after this one. Best phones I've ever had.
You can manually install all the "issues" with the phone though?
TH-cam and Maps and apps like that still work from apks, as those apps don't rely on GMS
You would have thought that these guys are 'pros' by now after reviewing millions of phones, but don't have a clue how you can manually install apps on your phone.

You can side install it and most google apps but It's a proccess... So it's down to you if you want to fork over 800 dollars and then having to backdoor everything from google... Such a shame, the hardware is great

@@Dz-yz8rt Higher chance of damage to the screen, makes it harder to find a good case and you can touch the sides and trigger things by accident all for a higher price than if the screen wasn't curved.
