  • Nikola Jokic plays great, and then he sits down and his team gets the crap kicked out of them. So everything is normal. Team Serbia is blown out by Team USA despite Nikola Jokic's plus-minus of zero, dead even. Why is shooting so important around Nikola Jokic? Plus, Jamal Murray is having a not-great summer. What's the concern level? World's Finest breaks it down with Adam Mares and Matt Moore.

    Whenever Jamal doesn't perform at an elite level you guys speculate that he is dealing with an injury. Every NBA player is dealing with something pretty much all the time during the NBA season. Why do you give Murray a pass when he doesn't deal with it as well as others?

      Yeah, they can talk about "Internet opinions" all they want.....they constantly make excuses for Murray. Moore himself has gone after Jokic about various stuff numerous times while he's usually coddling Murray. It takes Murray throwing stuff onto the court or being an a-hole to reporters for the 100th time for the DNVR guys to say one critical thing about him.

    Matt, the reason why Embiid is good statistically in games against Jokic is because he plays only at home and when he's rested...if there's any chance he could "embarrass" himself, he just sits...

    To sum it up any team that have 3 time MVP for 5 years of his prime and dont have an All Star to play with (support) him ..Something is terrible wrong with that (almost criminaly wrong)
    And that is nothing to do with toughness or running away to a better place ..There is latterly no team in history of the NBA that threat their All star like this and not compare to MVP and we are talking about 3 time MVP..

    Jamal entered the season in full fan form, it could be seen in the first 10 games. That is why the contract is still in place because it is probably filled with clauses, for injuries, the number of games played - examples. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work, there is always a solution.

    Just to respond to Adam nothing against you or Matt personally i think DNVR is best NBA podcast like D-line Vogt and LoN is ok to ..I am not suggesting for Jokic to be soft 0 character ring chaser like Embid or Lebron and on..
    But if DN organization cant support him like Mavs do for Luka or Milvocke for Giannes and they have different goals like player development or just going to playoffs not competing for championship and if Jokic is ok with that he should stay with DN but FO need to be honest with him that's it ..
    And if Jokic have different goals then DN FO then like in every relationship they should go separate ways.. Because every move that FO did right now is telling me they are not serious about wining another ring but build new players sell them and make more money..
    And if you really love Jok like in every relationship you wish him the best also Jok should deserve to play with another all star on his team and if he stays with DN i think that will never happen.
    As for being soft or tuff sometimes you can be to tuff for your own good.I was in BJJ match i have got couth in an armbar but i was to stubborn and didnt tap so i pull out (lift opponent) and i broke my back and i need to have surgery on my back this otom.
    DN should win at list 3 rings by now and i wish they win 10 rings but lets be real and honest about what the goals are what's the problems and what's are solutions

    If the coach lets Jokic play at least 36 minutes (minimum) and if Serbia has 50% 3pts shooting game, they can win against the Team USA. That can happen say in 1 in every 4 games. It is possible to win, but it's going to be extremely hard.

    Jamal is 300% overrated player, when he played with reserves this minutes were huge negative. For team Canada probably Nemhart is more important than Jamal. Is he better than Maxey or Fox? Of course not.

    Great, Jokic back in 2022 played Eurobasket, how did it work out? They won the chip you say? Last season they must have played all summer, right? They looked, so tired? No, whole team had the whole summer off. THIS IS NOT HOW EXHAUSTION WORKS, NBA PLAYERS GET MONTHS (plural) OFF!!!, you can literarily heal a broken bone in a month. Only exhaustion that's real can be mental exhaustion, or if you do a lot of stuff in short period of time, or consistently do hard stuff for long time, without resetting your body for a week or two. I don't follow other USA sports, so maybe it's all of them, but why are we talking about injuries ALL THE TIME, if the player can play, he's not really injured, is he? in Europe, you are considered injured when you physically can't play, other than that, it's just knocks, be tough. And Jamal this injury is complete nonsense, you are not playing "injured" when you are out of contract next season.

    • @sammyslam1
      @sammyslam1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think people are also factoring in his point of attack defense as well as his ability to hit open 3's at a really high percentage.
      He was a really good complimentary player for both Bron and Jokic.
      A true 3 and D guy.
      I do think The Nuggets can "possibly" be a slightly better team without KCP but that would either require Christian Braun being as good or better than KCP on the defensive end of the court or Coach Malone choosing to start Russ over Braun, with Murray shifting to the 2, so Murray shoots more shots.
      By slightly better i am really saying "more versatile", as KCP had really become more of a spot up shooter on the offensive end and both Braun and Russ can score in a variety of ways, even though neither is the shooter KCP is.
      I'm not sure what The Nuggets defensive rating was with KCP on the floor(or their offensive rating) ?
      Can either Braun or Russ match that defensive rating and offensive rating?
      I think The Nuggets would prefer Braun to be their starter because he adds more size and he plays well next to Jokic and Murray.
      That would allow Russ to help the reserve unit.
      A possible reserve unit of: Saric, Strawther, Watson, MPJ, and Russ in a five out system with Russ feeding four shooters could be tough to defend.
      I actually like Russ more as a starting pg with Murray at the 2, with Murray the first sub, so he runs the second unit as a pg.
      Let's see what happens but i trust Coach Malone to get this team playing at a high level even without KCP.

      I understand the spacing, but this is one player. We have other players who should be able to stretch the defense. Payton and Christian are pretty good. I would be very concerned if the nuggets traded Michael Porter for parts. To me, that puts even more pressure on Jamal be the second star that he isn't right now, to lead units without Jokic, to raise the floor of other players.
    If Jamal proves he can do those things, then maybe he doesn't need an Aaron Gordon and an MPJ next to him but right now he looks like he absolutely needs them.

    @JovicaMilutinovic 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    As I promised, as soon as you start talking bs about KCP and how irreplaceable he is, here it is:
    Reading the comments, I conclude that the majority of people who write comments, including the majority of channel hosts on all YT channels related to Denver, draw conclusions and talk about KCP and other players as if they had no contact with any sport in their lives. Everyone writes about KCP as if he was in is an excellent basketball player, but in fact he is average and completely replaceable, especially if we take Braun as a replacement. If we have to take part in commenting about the Denver Nuggets team, let's be realistic and consider all aspects of the players or the team being commented on. KCP in the play offs of this completed season, in 12 games, only three games were positive in the complete +- statistics. In four games out of 12, he was in double figures - twice with 12 points, one 14. one 16 points, all other games r single digit. He had 2.7 ast per game, 2.9 rebounds pg. Now the complete picture of 3-point shooting in 12 playoff games-4/10, 0/4, 1/5, 2/3, 1/6, 2/4, 0/2, 0/2, 1/4, 4/ 5, 2/6, 1/4 - if we add it all up, we get 51 points from three-point shooting in 12 games, a very bad statistic even for an average player. Next, in only 3 games out of 12, KCP shot free throws, in 9 games there was not a single free throw attempt. How good is KCP with 8.08 ppg in 12 play off games. Steals for such a defender 1.4 spg, 17 in total on 12 POG, haha 10 of them are from 5 games against LA, 7 steals on 7 games against Wolves. I will not write to you about Fga without three points and free throws because it is additionally devastating. I can additionally write that in 12 playoff games CB has a negative +- in the complete statistics in only two, in ten he had a + in the complete statistics. I know that because of the championship team, every fan is attached to KCP, but looking at the bigger picture, he is not a player for Denver. What happened with Brown after leaving Denver, the same will happen with KCP, if he was really that good, OKC would take him instead of Caruso or some other team that is among the top five or top 8 to win the championship, but money above all because he knows that this is the last stop for a good contract at the age of 31. Jokica does not need players who are chasing contracts, but players who are chasing the championship. End of story all the best to KCP and Denver will be a much better team without KCP, Reggie and with Saric and Russ a much more mature and stronger team as a whole - this is a team sport, Denver to victory.
