Elaine scolding the psychic for smoking while pregnant is genuine. That's why Finale doesn't justify their good behavior. So many times these 4 characters help others in many ways.
In the Season 4 episode The Handicap Spot, George's father, Frank, was played by John Randolph, who was bald. When Jerry Stiller, who is not bald, took over the role of Frank in Season 5, Randolph's scenes were reshot with Stiller. Therefore, the line about George's father became a continuity error.
I think was an earlier season. I don't recall George's parents even being in the first couple seasons so probably hadn't developed the characters yet. I could be wrong though.

Backstories and continuity were inconsistent in first few seasons. In Male Unbonding Jerry tells Joel he needs to help his nephew with his homework. Since he has no siblings and no in-laws, he can't have a niece or nephew. Although he could have just been fibbing to ditch the meeting.

With that plan in mind, the fact that she's smoking is grossly irresponsible. On the other hand, abortions happen within a few weeks of conception; so, any potential harm to the fetus from an unhealthy habit is a non-issue.

I think abortion should be a choice, but if you choose to have the baby you are supposed to take on the responsibility to not endanger it.
