I just wanted to point out that on my 2007 997 it wasn't obvious how to remove the plastic cover after removing the weatherstripping and screws as you showed. That's because my car has what looks like a hold down bar/clasp for a strap that is in the lower part of the plastic cover. This piece attaches directly to the car through a hole in the plastic. You can't remove the plastic cover without first removing the bar/clasp and it isn't obvious how to remove it. As it turns out it is removed using a lot of force and sliding it to the left. I asked the dealer what it is and he said that it is only used on the cabriolet but installed on both to keep different parts (ie plastic cover) to a minimum.
Can you just pull that module unit and then disable the system through the set up? I check my tire pressure before I even go out with my car by hand. Each one
Can you please tell me what you ended up doing for the aero kit wing for the carrera S? I want to get one and I am about to buy a used one for $3K that I would need to repaint and transfer hardware over to.
South coast Porsche website used to sell the factory aero kit wing for like 4-5k. Unfortunately they don’t sell these aero kit wing anymore. Porsche do sell the gt3 wing but it’s 12k lol. I opt for the Getty designs in riverside ca. They’re made in the USA and they specialize in racing and their parts are well made. Is it 100% like oem? Of course not. I’d say 98% good cuz nothing beats the OEM it’s not perfect but pretty damn good. You’d still have to have it professionally fitted, primed, painted and installed. Also have to order OEM vents and rubber lining = more money. There’s another company in France that’s supposed to be good as well. It’s called jacquemond design. These wing would fetch for 2000-2500. Whatever you do please do not get the eBay duraflex for $500 they are crap. You mention buying a used one. My advice is if the $3000 used one is factory aero, I’d get that. Nothing beats factory!
I confirmed the $12k coast from suncoast. They stopped making it. Thank you for the feedback once again! I have a guards red 2006 carrera s with less options but trying to add an aero kit that makes the most sense. If Getty design is 98% close along with the underside fitting and looking properly to the carrera s, it might be the way to go if I never sell the car.
@@ryanrapolsive5770, don’t get rid of your stock engine lid. If you do decide to sell you can always switch back. The aero wing is no longer available but the stock gt3 wing (12k) is available from Porsche parts but too pricey. I still have my original wing and kept it for Art piece in my garage. The wing is not for everyone but the front aero is. IMO, The front aero is a must upgrade on these 997s. It transform the look of the car for the better and most owners 90% want that front end. If I were you I’d just do the front aero and leave the rear as is. The only reason I have the full kit is because it came like that from factory. Had it not, I’d just do the front end. I love my wing but only because it came like that from factory. If you do get the wing as I mentioned, get the used one only if it’s factory (fitment will be plug and play and comes with all the hardware). If not, the 2 companies I mention above is a good option but still need oem vents/ hardware and need to be done by a GOOD professional shop (proper fitment) Good luck.
I recently had the TPMS lights came on, reset mine and drive for a few minutes and it disappeared. Can't believe the dealers want $1400 for that crap, such a rip off!
Yes and the kicker is if I would’ve paid for the tpms sensors it wouldn’t have fixed the problem since it was the control unit. So they would’ve charged me another 1000 to replace that. I don’t mind paying for certain things but to charge me 1300-1400 for a set tpms sensors is bananas.

@@davezak5870 interesting, could it a early 2007 model? Mine was super easy to remove.

@@carlorizzo5308 not sure but why would you do that? The module is inexpensive and easy to replace.
Thanks!
Did you have to reprogram the tpms control unit?
If I remembered correctly, it registered on its own. If not you would have to reset it following the menu on the dash.
Exactly what I need to do. Ty sir
Did you have code it to the vehicle? Or was it plug & play ?
@@Secn00b911 plug/play
