The only issue that people going to have is if you do public financing: you're seeing an awful lot of cities turn that down now. In Kansas city folks just turned down an expansion of Arrowhead because the proposition wanted to pay tax dollars to do it. Remember we don't have one owner that owns 100% of the team the Holt family owns the majority.
Mark my words San Antonio doesn't know how to build a nice futuristic looking arena look what they did with the dome and the the city pocketed the extra money on how the layout was supposed to be originally and the arena they have now they pocketed money there as well saying they were trying to make it look like the Freeman coliseum this city is lucky to have a team that has won five championships and they always give the city a very poor arena or dome like I said us as the followers of the Spurs we're not worth having something nice to show every time they played on national TV they always showed these very poor arenas or dome Peter Holt just takes care of the team which is fine but us as the city we want something nice to show for every time they share those words on national TV we're here in San Antonio Texas again mark my words!!!!!
The problem has never been about rebuilding an up-to-date arena every time they build they build something that is ready to tear down San Antonio has always been the laughing stock of arenas or the dome for example when they first laid out the plan for the dome it was planned already to be remodeled because the city keeps pocketing the extra money mark my words they did it with the dome and they did it with the AT&t center and as I said mark my words watch how this one turns out it's going to looks of it it's like the old saying goes fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. If the city doesn't see that they keep building something old and out of date every time the first time then the citizens do not deserve a modernjzed facility cuz they just keep taking what the city builds them
That makes no sense and do you have any facts on your assumption of the city pocketing extra money? Its time a new arena and location. Most successful City's make good decisions to to keep their sports franchise successful and with the Spurs being the only true Big League professional team they better invest now and not later. Be pro active and not reactive... Go Spurs Go!!!
County judge Nelson and other city leaders probably didn't plan for growth just a cheap place to built a new Spurs Arena, they end up building something that looks like a barn because that the limit of architecture design ingenuity they need to hire outside architectures not local which explains the metal barns designs we keep building in SA. The New Frost bank building is an inspiration this time.
The Spurs have made Peter Holt quadruple his money and when it comes to spending a little to have something nice he pinches his Penny's but it's not just the Spurs the whole city is very primitive for the size that we are even Austin would build something nice
Want to give another New Arena For The San Antonio Spurs But Can't Win A Championship 🏆🏆🏆🏆 For San Antonio Deserve a Championship Who's Pay for this New Arena The Taxers what Happened to one the got build but again No title Or Championship for San Antonio Fans
You got any better ideas on where to put it? And it's not "across the street" it's across the highway which actually can be surmounted all you have to do is build a pedestrian bridge. We can't go north really: we are pretty much built out out there and we ain't leaving the city. The only other option is to go out South. But honestly like someone said we never should have moved out of Downtown in the first place. Downtown's a lot different now than it was 30 years ago.
The city needs to realize we have a generational talent who can be the next face of the league once Lebron retires. This means Victor will bring in hundreds of millions to billions of dollars in profit to our city and the Spurs Organization / NBA so the price on a new arena will be covered during his career. Hope the owners take most of the cost though.
I hope the architectural design is a one of a kind, something people would love to visit as well as people who see it nationally. This city when they build something it’s usually bland looking. If we are going to support it let’s build it with some class.
Spurs will try to go for a championship....The thing is they will have to go to the western conference finals because they are inexperienced. I'm also expecting the spurs to have a great defensive season for wembanyama to get defensive player of the year.
The Spurs never wanted to move to the east side. But at the time, the city was not willing to come up with a plan to give them a downtown location. The Spurs need the downtown location, but they do not need to be part of a package that would include a minor league baseball field. Build the new arena downtown, but 86 the minor league baseball field. Let the San Antonio Missions renovate their present baseball field.
There's not enough to do after the games...? The games don't usually end until after 10 at least and it takes like another hour just to get out of the parking lot, I don't think that's a concern to anyone that's actually gone to a spurs game
San Antonio will never gain a MLB team. The field planned is a minor league field. Rather than waste that money, let the Mission renovate their current field. Use the space on this plan for the baseball field for more parking. Or perhaps a basketball oriented theme park.
Yes, make the new arena happen no matter what. The Spurs organization has helped make San Antonio the city what it is.
New dynasty new arena new location equals bigger names bigger businesses and bigger platforms. Let's do it
A new downtown arena would be great the famous Riverwalk is there.
... it's going to be in down town...it better be nice not another barn
Yeah sounds like you never sat in the lower bowl 😂
Its going to be by where the original HEMISFAIR ARENA used to be. Where it should have been built in the first place.
Lets go 2 1 0.

great idea. so true that theres nothing to do in the area of the current arena.
San Antonio needs something NEW. Solid yes

Or, how about re-purpose the Alamodome! Make it bigger and better.
If people want more places to eat and to be closer to downtown, why don't they just move back into the Alamodome?
The Alamodome sucks for basketball
Why did they decide to build SBC Center (called at that time) in undesirable location in the first place?
County judge Nelson and other city leaders probably didn't plan for growth just a cheap place to built a new Spurs Arena, they end up building something that looks like a barn because that the limit of architecture design ingenuity they need to hire outside architectures not local which explains the metal barns designs we keep building in SA. Thats CRAZZZZY. Lets build a smaller stadium across the street from the alamodome. lolololol
You got any better ideas on where to put it?

Good im tired of the traffic by the hood anyway

Yah, unlike the Alamodome !!
O centro de treinamento, parece ser bonito.
History in the making!! Love my spurs and good old san antoon 🇨🇱🤘
This looked like am hoops for a second. Great vid!
And this would be good for nba all star weekend
Its about damn time we get out the EastSide and back to the heart of the city🎉
It’s be nice to have a modern Hemisfair arena.
Spurs will try to go for a championship....The thing is they will have to go to the western conference finals because they are inexperienced. I'm also expecting the spurs to have a great defensive season for wembanyama to get defensive player of the year.

Build the new arena downtown, but 86 the minor league baseball field. Let the San Antonio Missions renovate their present baseball field.
They wanna bring in an MLB team on the expansion. So they are going to make an MLB sized stadium as well
I’m from Texas if the put this downtown it will be complete for the most underrated city in the us
Institute of TEXAN cultures
not Texas cultures
thumbnails fire bruh
Every arena should be downtown IMO for the economy GSG 🎉
There's not enough to do after the games...? The games don't usually end until after 10 at least and it takes like another hour just to get out of the parking lot, I don't think that's a concern to anyone that's actually gone to a spurs game
Visit other stadiums and you will see what they mean
That baseball stadium looks like they are trying to get a MLB team.
San Antonio will never gain a MLB team. The field planned is a minor league field. Rather than waste that money, let the Mission renovate their current field. Use the space on this plan for the baseball field for more parking. Or perhaps a basketball oriented theme park.
Doesn't matter what we think
San Antonio has a big track record of failing at getting new arenas. The more likely play is an arena in the middle of SA and Austin.
1000$ days it doesn’t happen
