    Thanks for this easy to follow tutorial. We don't have access to a hobby store and my son and I were able to get his truck going again. I'm the only mum in town that knows how to set gear now!

    @chilly1of1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    first of gear mesh is to loose, second to put motor back on you put the top screw for the motor in (loosely) and the the bottom one (loosely) once you have your gear mesh right then tighten top then make sure gear mesh is right then tighten the bottom

    I believe you used contact cleaner from CRC. It's a great product and used throughout the electrical industry for cleaning components such as contacts on relays and such. It sure did an excellent job cleaning your motor. It's crazy how much dirt came out of that motor. Great video. Your using the best stuff to clean with IMHO and it's safe on plastic.

    Great video!! Watched a few before I got to yours. Others usually lose me when they use WD40 as a lubricant.
    I'll be pulling my motor tonight on my TRX4. Thanks

    Nice tutorial! Most seem to use a glass of water to run their motors in. I have picked up a can of Duratrax Power Shot to clean my motors. The only difference for me, is to not use 3 in 1 oil. If the motor gets hot, it can break down, and you will definitely know because you will be able to smell the oil when it gets hot. I picked up a bottle of Parma bushing oil. The shaft of the motor runs on bushings, so I'm guessing it would be a better choice to lubricate the motor.

    • @Ris-v4w
      @Ris-v4w 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      how did the bushings oil work out for you?

    • @darylsullivan3447
      @darylsullivan3447 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Ris-v4w I haven't ran my trucks in a while, so I have yet to use the Power Shot spray and bushing oil on my motors. But a friend of mine was concerned
      about the way his motor was running one time. I didn't have the cleaning spray with me, but I had the bushing oil in the box I carry with tools and batteries.
      The bushings on his motor looked dirty, like a fine layer of dirt. We put some drops of it around the motor shaft, and it improved the performance of his
      motor quite a bit.

      I'd say don't put off the demineralized water yet, it will not clear out the lube from the motor bushings/bearings like the spray does, in case this is what you are looking for

    The 1st part you can just fill a cup with water and put your brushed motor in it and just give it a little throttle and keep doing that until the battery is completely dead and you'll see that the cup will be completely black the 1st part isn't needed just do the water method a lot more easier and it cleans it way better
