Great video, I live in Busan and have done this trip a couple of times. Always fun. One small thing to note though at 18:30 You can only take a fully assembled bike on the subway in Busan on weekends and holidays. Trust me, I found that out the hard way! You can sometimes sneak it on during the quieter times during the week if you're lucky, but during busy times you'll be kicked off!
Hey @someusername789 thanks so much for letting me know! I must have stumbled upon some incorrect info when I made this. I'll pin this for others to see, and happy cycling! 🚴♂️

Awesome video. Korea's bike paths are so great. Lived in Seoul for 8 years now and I still think one of my favourite things to do in the world is ride next to Han River. Such beautiful scenery and it goes on forever
Thank you so much @TheDrdressup! Agree with you that Korea's bike paths are amazing, and should be more well known around the world! Hope to see you out there on the bike path someday in Seoul! Stay safe and happy cycling!

My hardest day, especially considering the constant monsoon rains lol, but still manageable) DAY 7, 91km, Namji to Busan (almost all flat and scenic, great finisher) PLS NOTE I live in Daegu and had to work 2 days between day 5 and 6 of the ride. If you had better luck with weather for the harder days, or were perhaps a more experienced cyclist, I think this itinerary would be extremely well balanced and enjoyable the whole way through. Even as it was I loved every second.
@@EnterAnders thanks so much for sharing your itinerary! Looks like a good one, and 7 days is a good length for people who are fit and still want to get some good sightseeing in. The 100km from Daegu to Namji is impressive especially, as I've always found those 3 steep hills harder than the famous Ihwaryeong. Great job and happy cycling!
@@lostthenfound Of course! Thank you for all your work on this video series, it was really invaluable. The passion and effort involved is very clear. 7 days was perfect - Chuseok + a weekend. I agree those 3 hills are the hardest part of the trip lol. Ihwaryeong is a challenge but the incline feels steady and doable. Then the ride down is so fun haha. Those late 3 felt a bit relentless
@@EnterAnders thanks so much! Totally agree that Ihwaryeong is almost fun in a way. It's the perfect steepness to just get into a rhythm and not get too out of breath. But yeah those 3 hills are killer for sure! Hahah so glad you had a good time though!
What a great video! Has some great information in here. We're planning on riding the Four Rivers path next month (not being expert bike riders at all!) Really wish we had seen this before we planned our itinerary. We've got a similar breakdown of the route and will share when we finish too!
@Just_another_jenny thank you so much! That's great that you guys have already planned your route. Hope you have an amazing ride down the Four Rivers! The weather should be perfect for it.
Korea is a great place for cycling, people just don't know. The bike paths are great, but I enjoy riding in the northeast area on the roads. You will spend a lot of energy going up and down the mountains, but that is part of the fun.
For transport from Incheon to Mapo we used the KAL Limo Bus 6702 (there is another operator in the reverse direction as well) - They were happy to take the Tandem bike box we had. We also discovered that this is not universal on our second trip, so you need to check the bus company's policies. BTW the best video I have seen regarding this path - well done! Nice balance of commentary and video!
@PaulWilliamson1 thanks so much for watching! Also that's a good tip about the bus too! I think it would be okay to take the general airport buses with your bike in the box as well.

Thanks so much @manoloperez8872 really happy to hear that! There are motels along the entire route in basically every city you pass by, and they are all really familiar with cyclists so you are good to go!
Thank you for the great videos! I visit Seoul often and usually rent a bike for a day, but have been dreaming about bringing my own to ride this trail. Sorry if I missed it, but what do you suggest for getting back to Seoul from Busan with the bike?

@shawntan85 I don't know of any bike rental places near the start in Incheon unfortunately, so I think it'd be best to rent from Bike Nara bikenara.modoo.at which is near Mapo Station and start on a weekend (so you can ride the subway), ride the subway from Gongdeok Station to Cheongna International City Station, and then start the path from there. You can return the bike when you arrive in Busan as well, as they have another store there.
May I ask when did you do the ride? i am planing to do the cross country on late June I wonder if there will be too much mosquitos and bugs that we need mosquito haed net? Thanks
Hi there @vivianpoon6086, we have done it in late July once, and early April twice. Late June will definitely be hot, but you won't need a mosquito head net. The mosquitos only really come out at night time when you're camping. There are definitely a lot of bugs in Korea though just so you know.
Hi, does anyone know where I can rent a road bike with accessories (lights, pannier bag and rack). My friend and I want to do this trail from Seoul to Busan. :) Do let me know if you know of good and inexpensive rental places.
Hi there! I answered this question in another video here (timestamped): th-cam.com/video/aVqj30tEbuM/w-d-xo.html Here are the locations and websites too: Bike Nara - Main bike rental shop many people use 📍Location: naver.me/FrAk7CLf 🌐 Website: www.bikenara.co.kr/ Seoul Bike Rental - Alternative in Itaewon that was good 📍Location: naver.me/xNd8IYCa 🌐 Website: koreaseoulbikerental.com
A lot of people do it on foot as well. I think they end up walking through the cities more than you do on a bike, and I don't think it's an official route. In my opinion it'd be more fun to do some of the 4,500 km of trekking trails that go around Korea's coasts. We introduce it in this video if you want to check it out! th-cam.com/video/B1_htAqi9yc/w-d-xo.html

Wow, great job guys. Life is so nice when you don't have to work 6 days a week like most Koreans do. How did you get the aerial shots and file behind you?
@2GoodLookin thanks so much! Working is the one aspect of Korea that I just cannot adapt to and that's why we are trying TH-cam haha. @@cccheung4006 you could take an intercity bus from Chungju Bus Terminal to Mungyeong's Jeomchon Bus Terminal to avoid the biggest hills, and then from Daegu Seogu Bus Terminal to Namji Bus Terminal to avoid the 3 hills in the south.
Any ideas on how I can take the buses to skip the big mountain climb?

Hi! I'm wondering if it is possible to rent a bike in Incheon and once the trip has ended in Busan return the bike there. Thanks!
@@lostthenfound thanks a lot!
Hi, does anyone know where I can rent a road bike with accessories (lights, pannier bag and rack). My friend and I want to do this trail from Seoul to Busan. :) Do let me know if you know of good and inexpensive rental places.
Hi there! I answered this question in another video here (timestamped): th-cam.com/video/aVqj30tEbuM/w-d-xo.html
Here are the locations and websites too:
Bike Nara - Main bike rental shop many people use
📍Location: naver.me/FrAk7CLf
🌐 Website: www.bikenara.co.kr/
Seoul Bike Rental - Alternative in Itaewon that was good
📍Location: naver.me/xNd8IYCa
🌐 Website: koreaseoulbikerental.com
oh I did that. You seem really prepared. I just wore a sweatshirt and jeans. Kinda made a joke out it.
@joshvisscher4120 not prepared at all actually! We did the same as you the first time. Just sharing information for others to help them prepare. 😁
Can you do this on foot?
A lot of people do it on foot as well. I think they end up walking through the cities more than you do on a bike, and I don't think it's an official route. In my opinion it'd be more fun to do some of the 4,500 km of trekking trails that go around Korea's coasts. We introduce it in this video if you want to check it out! th-cam.com/video/B1_htAqi9yc/w-d-xo.html
Interesting video do you realise you start nearly every sentence with "and"
@jenkinsdale5 thanks a lot! My English was never very good, and living in Korea for 11 years didn't help it that's for sure! 🤣
선생님들은 추천 구독 해야함 아무것도 없는 나라에 비행기까지 타고 와서 탄다는거에 무척 존중요.... 솔직히 한국 타이완은 볼것도 없고 거리도 적은데 그게 비용을 해가며.... 그걸 자체가 일본 경유라도 존중함요^^ 솔직히 한국 타이완은 가면서 자전거 계곡도 없음^^;;
I just fly the drone manually behind me with the controller in one hand and hope for the best, but I make sure the drone is high enough that it's not going to hit anything first!
@@lostthenfound Bravo! You're videos are an inspiration.
