Thanks - great video. You show us things that have been on Excel for years but we've never really understood what they are for and wish we'd know about it sooner!
Hi Leila...I am a big fan of your excel videos and I really appreciate for your works in reaching the needs of various people in regard to various excel problems and of course your free excel courses and related materials were some of the other best things we have.... can you please help me with the following issue... The shortcut Ctrl+], which is used to highlight the dependent cells is not working across different worksheets...though the shortcut works pretty much fine in a single worksheet (where both the cell and the formula that uses the cell are situated).. However the precedent shortcut Ctrl+[ is working fine across multiple worksheets in a workbook.. Also that when we press "Ctrl+Shift+[" or "Ctrl+Shift+]" all the precedent cells or the dependent cells as the case may be gets highlighted within the same worksheet...but the same doesn't work across the different worksheets... The shortcuts to highlight the precedent and dependent cells are very much handful things to identify various cell references (by colour formatting them) that are sitting across multiple worksheets.. So guys please someone help me to fix the issue.. Thankyou..
Hi, Would u please suggest that how to handle data where the line items are 2-3 lac bcz i have to deal with it every day and excel takes alot of time to save of paste data into it, how can i make it smooth. Thank for sharing knowledge.
If your not great with syntax on formulas using the insert function helps giving you a simpler form to fill in for formulas than typing all that gobbledegeek.
Hi mam... I hv a query...how can I get filter row first down cell data in excel....automatically...so whenever I filter any row and I could got filter first cell data in particular cell easily....without coding in VBA....pls help me..regards RAKESH SHARMA
Hi Rakesh - the simplest no VBA method is to add a column at the end of your list - this column should be included in your filter and will act as the helper column. Put in this formula =SUBTOTAL(3,A2) (assuming you have list from A1 to C9 for example). Pull this formula down till the end. This will result in "1" if row is visible and "0" if not. To get the first visible value out, use this formula: =INDEX(A2:A9,MATCH(1,D2:D9,0)) - update references based on your data. Hope this helps.
Leila Gharani Mam can u send me excel file for easily understand..actually i m missing something so pls send me a file with this formula if possible...

Looks like the Watch Window and Evaluate Formula are yet more features not available in the Mac version of Excel.
:( evaluate formula is a life-saver for complex formulas. It's a pity it's missing in the Mac.
