I am liking Walz, because regional balance and the usual politics. He comes off as the uncle who tells you flat out that your crazy uncle is crazy, and you should not listen. He'd also say "Go get a job, kid!"

    • @WastedPo
      @WastedPo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@jeromewortham3848 - Watch the recent "Humanist Report" video called "Why Kamala Harris Should Choose Tim Walz."
In short: Shapiro brings baggage and controversy that none of the other candidates do. He has been over-the-top in his staunchly pro-Netanyahu stances, once likening student protestors to the guys in white hoods. If you don't care about that - you have to consider that millions of Gen-Z voters (not to mention Arab Americans) DO care about that. All the viral memes supporting Kamala Harris on Tik-Tok right now, and the fun music videos? Those stop, when you lose Gen-Z. That's a billion dollars of free advertising gone.
Not only that, But Harris is still statistically tied with Trump in Swing States. She needs to entice young voters if she expects to win.
Additionally, Shapiro has been terrible on issues with unions (which is why unions support Walz and Beshear). He also has helped cover up a sex-scandal that happened in his office. You can be sure that THAT controversy is going to come up again if Shapiro is chosen. Kamala can no longer use the line about how Trump committed S.A. and she's the prosecutor, because the right will call her a hypocrite for having Shapiro on the ticket.
Shapiro is the J.D. Vance for the Democratic Ticket. He does nothing to broaden the base, while holding the potential to alienate millions.

He is more likely than any other.
I am a LIBERAL and most of the time I can't tell the difference between a "Liberal" and a "Progressive"... even from my stance. From the GOP/Con stance, there is ZERO difference between the two, as both are "mentally sick" in their views. When you're into a Flat Earth type of CULT, with a proven, slick Cult leader like Jim Jones, Trump, Hitler et al., it is NOT YOU who are mentally sick or twisted; it's always OTHERS who are mentally sick & twisted.
Anyway, even as Liberal, with a capital "L," I don't always agree with other Liberals and/or Progressive. I obviously don't agree with Josh Shapiro, a Jew, on the Israeli-Palestinian issues in the Mid East.... but I understand him, because he is a JEW!
I don't align with Palestinians because I was or I am a Palestinian. I don't personally know ANY JEW or PALESTINIANS; my sympathies lies with OPPRESSED MINORITIES, because I am a minority and my people have been oppressed throughout history, beginning with my people and our ancestral lands being taken over by Han Chinese neighbors, when they expanded to our adjacent ancestral land.
Jews are most of the time, minorities, too; but in the Palestinian-Israeli struggle, the Israelis are the giant Goliath, not the Palestinians. That means for a death caused by Palestinians, the Jews in Israel could EASILY KILL 1,000 Palestinians, without a sweat, since they have not only superior fire power, by themselves, but they also have ENDLESS supply of such fire power FROM the USA...
It's from PALISTINE that modern Israel was CARVED OUT OF.... so, again, as a minority, I sympathize MORE with the weaker people whose lands are BEING TAKEN by powerful people, whether those more power people are from next door (like any ancestral lands and what the Hans did to us) or from thousands of miles away (like most Jews were, in the Mid East, when millions left Europe & elsewhere to "return" to the Mid East, after 6M were rounded up and killed BY CHRISTIANS in Europe)...
In Europe, of course, I sympathize 100% with the Jews, because they were 100% the victims of Christians and Europeans. Not in the Mid East, again, because there, they are the POWERFUL people, the TAKERS of lands... & they take from the Indigenous people who HAVE ALWAYS LIVED THERE, the Palestinians. Palestinians are not people recently, last year or 40 years ago or 75 years ago started arriving there in the Mid East from Argentina, Poland, Italy, Germany, France, Norway, Australia, Japan, Mongolia, Russia, etc. No... Palestinians ALWAYS have been living there, in Palestine, from the beginning... so of the TWO major players, the Palestinians ARE THE INDIGENOUS, the weaker party.
And what we, as humans, know 100% for sure is: if there is a struggle and you're the weaker or weakest, YOU WILL PAY... with your lives, your lands, or your other things.
ALL THAT ASIDE.... again.... Josh is the RIGHT PERSON to pick: he is the governor of a state the Democrats must have, due to its BIG electoral counts. Republicans may be the SMALLER party, with less voters; but they have MORE STATES with more electoral counts.
California, with 39M people, for example, only have 2 Senators (two electoral votes, in addition to the House Seats, of 53, of course)... but Wyoming, Alaska, etc. HARDLY more than 500,000 to 2M or so, two those states, solid Republicans, already have 4 electoral votes (from the Senate count angle; of course, from the House, they only have 1 or 2... but REPRESENTATIONALLY, they shouldn't even have one or two, from the House NOR 4, from the Senate.... because their states don't even have 1/30 of the citizens of California)....
Josh also is White, male, and Jewish, as said.
He's also a very good, fearless speaker... in addition to being a GOOD POLITICIAN.
Beshear of KN adds nothing, even though I would love to hear him say to JD Vance: "Don't claim to be one of us, you are NOT one of us... Just becase you spent a few summers in the Apalachia during your teen years, it do'nt mean you're one of us..."
THAT take down would be satisfying to see, to hear... but again a governor of a dark red state isn't adding tangibles & intangibles to Harris electoral prospects...
MN is already a blue state.
But, yes, NC and AZ are good picks, in terms of politicians from there. Kelly is a good one but the gov of NC already took himself out of the running... so between Kelly and Shapiro, Pennsylvania's electoral counts are WAY MORE important...

Respectfully disagree that picking Kelly loses a seat in the Senate. On the contrary it brings in Gallegos to replace chameleon, and most recently Independent, Sinema. The Arizona governor is a Democrat and would appoint a Democrat to serve Kelly's remaining four years. In all probability after four years that Democrat would be elected to the seat. Frankly picking Shapiro makes Sherrod Brown's seat more vulnerable.

I agree with Marc that choosing Shapiro raises a red flag. I'm a liberal Jew who sees Shapiro as someone who threatens the delicate balance between Israel and Palestine. In addition, Shapiro's support of school vouchers, which siphons money away from the public schools, is definitely not progressive in the least. I am a 40 year veteran teacher... I worked all my life to support public education. Shapiro obviously is blind to what thousands of our public school teachers are doing... not only in the classroom, but in local communities. Finally, silencing peaceful (and I mean PEACEFUL) protest is never a good idea. This country was predicated on the freedom of speech... without it, we are no better than Soviet Russia.
