My canal in gin clear and I regularly stalk the tench. The interesting thing I found is that the tench would much rather feed in the silt and weed. I've baited hard gravely patches between the weed before and literally watched the tench feeding in the weed around the baited gravel patch.
The underwater footage is of amazing value Particularly the stuff rob gets .. i have been a fan of it since the dynamite baits footage from the early days. Geeza knows his onions
High guy's i know this was a couple of years ago but, very very interesting 🤔 indeed. With regard to the loose feed being a little bit scattered, I don't think it affects the swim that much, the fact that it's a bit spread out, I think it adds interest to the area and keeps them occupied no matter what angle they come into the swim from. Great session and some lovely fish.
Fascinating stuff. These underwater film are brilliant. You have ideas in your head of what you think is going on under the water and then you see these!
Great watch, love the underwater stuff usually for carp but you gotta love those tench! Rob needs to do his own test the angler underwater series on youtube would be brilliant
A question if I may 🤔 were you both using Koram rods + reels ?? The reason I ask is, I have just bought a korum opportunist 12' extd 1 3/4 LB tc , float fishing tench, carp, and should i hook up a big carp i will have a great chance of landing it 😀. Cheers again 👍 Les.
So on silted lake bed , and you see fizzing are they munching through into silt or is it the filtering action that creates the fizzing, Many a time I’ve had fizzing but just can’t get a bite
I’m getting incredibly consumed by catching a tench it’s becoming a pain to think about not catching one, if only my local wasn’t over stocked with carp and the tench have a chance, I’d go with worms or maggots but i fear the silvers will just hammer it before the tench do, uncle allegedly had a 4lb tench on paste but the carp hammer that aswell

Neat underwater footage. A lot more bait down there than you thought though. Quite a large carpet
