  • The B64 will be following in the footsteps of some incredible buggies, each with their own story, their own piece of history. So join us as we take a walk down memory lane, from the handmade 4WD RC10 Jay raced at the 85 Worlds, to the 3-Time World Champion B44.

Dan the inventor of the TC3-O kit was the first person I met at my first race. It was at Washtenaw county fairgrounds rc indoor winter track in Ann Arbor, MI about 2001. I can't remember the parts he helped my brother and I with but I do remember him having the TC3-O and we thought it was sooo cool he built his own RC car. I remember he also rented trucks and buggies to race for the day. I think I had rented one a RC10T3 when my Traxxas rustler broke and my brother and I went and bought Associated kits shortly after.

Awesome video! I love the history of the 4wd class. I actually wrote a letter to Cliff Lett in 1989 asking why Team Associated didn't make their own 4wd buggy and he wrote me back!!! I had a Tamiya Super Sabre and I wanted an A/E buggy because all my friends had RC10s. It's funny how life comes full circle and here the B64D is the 4WD buggy of my dreams 27 years later. Nice work Team Associated.

You didn’t like the Optima Mid? Was it really that important for your 4WD to be an Associated?

Wow! Amazing video! Good to see the camaraderie amongst companies throughout the years - AE, MIP, JConcepts, Yokomo, etc. It's cool to see the heritage of the B44 platform -where it has been and where it's going with the changing of track conditions.

I like how all the pro drivers are like: " Ah.... didn't win but it's all good, had fun!" I think it speaks volumes to the fact, it's still a hobby. Two thumbs up from me.

WOOOOW!!!! Such an amazing video man. I had no ideas some of those older buggies even existed. I wish I had some of those older ones for my personal collection. But I'm really excited for the B6D as for the B64D 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻 I can't wait to get both buggies. Keep up the amazing work guys 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻👊🏻

Definitely appreciated the early video clips and seeing the racers I grew up reading about. Glad to see so many are still involved in the company and in RC. Just got bit by the RC bug over Christmas with a Nitro Rustler for bashing out on the ranch....went down to the LHS and picked up a B6D.....so much has changed. I am completely lost with the new ESC's and brushless set ups, but I am stoked on the opportunity to race at the club level again.

WOW! The first track I ever played on was the one in Del Mar. I had a RC10 and worked in a hobby shop in Encinitas. 1987 I think it was called Hobby Town. Anyway, I still have that RC10. Collecting dust, but the memories are still fun!

Nothing will ever compare to the fragile Team Losi XXX & XX4. I spent more money on broken parts than I did on tires and batteries together. It was so bad that I insisted Team Losi had built their cars with the assumption that they would make a fortune off spare parts.

history of AE in 4wd is mostly...someone else did the 4wds with our cars or parts, we drove other companies cars, to have a 4wd we have to buy another companies car, and copy another manf's car
btw....Losi won the 1985 IFMAR worlds in OPEN (4wd) with a Yokomo also but gets no credit , not to take anything from Halsey who won 2wd..
Yokomo has won more 4wd IFMAR titles than any other manufacter, AE and Losi tied at three each. AEs 3 is after they bought and took over the BJ4 from JConcepts

Hi, m y names Albert and I really have one dream before I die and I could anytime now so i was wondering how do i get team associated to sponsor me? What are the steps i win all my local races all the time and i"ve been only racing my teams associated, B5M, SC10, RC10 T4.3, RC8.2rs nitro, my old FT T3 all upgraded to brushless motor and esc. I have racing since I was 7 at all the tracks in Florida, now I"m in Pueblo CO and my dream is to do what u do. I am very experienced but I just never get a chance or opportunity to show the sponsors that I'm really good and I always win my classes. Right now i run my b5m sc10 t4.3 t3 and my rc8.2rs nitro. To me RC s life and i just want a chance b4 i die because 10 years ago i was diagnosed with terminal Pancreatitis and the doctors all different ones said be dead by 36I race carpet astroturf and dirt. since i could be dying any time now from my severe chronic pancreatitis my dream is to get a shot at racing in a professional race and I would do anything to get on the @teamassocited i won't be around much longer and if i could just have the opportunity, Racing rc professionally has been my dream since i was 6 and got my 1st hobby grade rc took it it to the local races and I actually won which made me hooked and i could die happy if I could just race a team associated car in a pro races. Then I could die happy/ Please point me in the direction or a phone number to call. No that I'm living in past the dates i was supposed to have pancreas shut down so I"m living on borrowed time so I figure why not try to do something I"ve dreamt about since 3rd grade. Please help me in the proper ways to get to sawant ,I"d do anything to have 1 chance to race with the pros before my pancreas or liver or kidneys give out. they are only working at 18% and i'm only 35 Please help me live a dream I"ve had since 7 years old. Thank you please let my dream come true before I check out for good.

So who messed up the rear driveshaft design? So much play, it pops out from the diff case. Have to run like 3-4 o-rings in the center outdrive. Why was there no coupling design..the driveshaft goes into a coupling and then the coupling goes into the gearcase. I dont get it, a whole new design with a horrible shaft flaw..ugh

The history of ae is great, but no one can live in the past. Regardless of many championships in the past, today ae does not make the best cars in any class. They have good 2wd buggies that can compete with the best, but is not as dominant as the b4 was in its time, not the best either. In every other class other than 1/10 2wd, ae has nothing. In tc and 4wd buggy, xray is a notch over the rest. In 1/8 scale ae could not make a good car that they simply copied mugen as much as possible, and still fell short. That weaselly move ruined their name. In 1/8 offroad TLR, Mugen, Tekno and Kyosho are the true innovators, designing their own original cars with hard work, research and development they are also the fastest and most consistent cars. ae can't even make a proper 1/18 car anymore, with the belt rubbing on the pinion. You don't see Mugen or Tekno desperately trying to make cars in every class by copying 1/10 cars. Yokomo makes only 1/10 vehicles and don't copy 1/8 cars. They are the true leaders in their classes, designing their own cars from scratch without copying other brands. More fun to drive, more consistent, more durable and faster then the wannabe copy cats.
