She says she finds him “very respectful “ yet during this trial he was seen laughing, smirking, and possibly giving one witness the finger! In the jailhouse phone calls with his dad, it sounds to me like he is scared of his father
Buster is gay and hiding in the closet. He had a thing with Steven Smith - that's why Smith had to die. I wouldn't put it past Alex to have threatened to 'OUT' Buster as homosexual, in return for this testimone. A Murdaugh can be a killer, a con man and a thief - but one thing he can't be is homosexual! Alex hasd definitely got dirt on Buster - I reckon he played the gay card.
I don't get that feeling at all. I think at times he sounds like, "geez, what is it NOW?! I'm busy and don't have time to take your stupid calls to do this and that." Or he sounds like he thinks his father is an idiot, like the phone call about the canteen money. Why is he getting so bothered about the canteen money, seems pretty small in comparison to murder. So that makes me again think that they are talking in code: Alex wants Buster to (again) take care of something illegal and related to the crimes and for whatever reason, Buster does not want to do it.
He also could be saying, “ they did him so bad”, (intentionally many times) because he was trying to create a story that a crew of people came and did these horrible acts. Also, for such a “tight” family, Buster didn’t even know when his Dad’s birthday is.
Corruption breeds more corruption in many of these cases. So much for their adherence to the law when they've been violating the law for more than likely many decades including. Randolph Buster Murdaugh back in 1956 when he was the 2nd of the Murdaugh clan to be the district attorney being removed temporarily from his position due to being linked to known moonshine runners as such. A family tree full of corruption.
The jury has seen all the other witnesses who knew this family, become emotional when they testified. The defense attorney became emotional when he cross examined Maggie’s sister!! Compare that to Buster’s demeanor. Hopefully , the jury will.
Is anybody thinking of the terror Paul & Maggie went through during the killings ? Seems no one is wanting justice for the victims but treating poor Alex as a victim for being charged .The man is a POS person ,not hard to imagine him doing this .
Sometimes I have the same thoughts. Cause I think the prosecution is failing big time. Hardly objections, unfinished questions and dragging some cross exams when they made strong points. Are they scared or do they respect that man to much. Face it he's done then finish it
I think Alex is absolutely guilty. Paul caused the boating accident because he was drunk and a 19 year old girl died. The law suit was for 30 million. Maggie and Paul had known about his drug addiction. I think Maggie was divorcing him, going to cost more money!

Alex is a malignant narcissist at the most extreme end of the scale - Hell, he's way off the scale. All his life he gas lit everyone around him, to see his perspective on everything. Buster has been brainwashed by his dad from birth to take his side - even when he commits an act as heinous as murdering his mom and his brother. This father-son relationship is some of the sickest $hit you'll ever see - a cold-blooded killer winning sympathy from his deluded kid, after blowing his mom and brother's brains out (literally, in Paul's case). The scary thing is, this young man is inevitably twisted like his dad - and HE'S not headed to jail for life. Who knows what misery Buster will cause and how many lives he will ruin? It's not just his horrific, day-glo orange hair he inherited from his Pop!
It's funny that they are making such a huge thing out of the "they" or "I"...even if it was "they"...why'd he say "they?" Plural! It boggles the mind that he ISN'T searching for the "true killer" if in fact he's innocent...the family always begs to know who and why. You'd think he'd be scared his life, that he might be next...I mean he was the family fraudster, but they said he wasn't scared. Sounds like someone who already knows the "who and why" and therefore, isn't scared. He reeks of guilt...it bubbles off him!
Exactly, on the jail house calls between Buster and Alex, neither one of them discussed if the killer had been found because it was Alex. I learned on another channel that Alex’s father left his 4 children 16 million dollars. And it can’t be touched by the courts or anyone but them.
And don’t forget Buster inherits anything left over once his father is firmly in jail for life. That’s a great motive for Buster to appear on his fathers side.
Paul’s video will put him in prison for the rest of his like. His staged murder didn’t include the 2 snap chat videos. G/d was watching. Rest in peace Maggie and Paul. So sorry you were brutally slaughtered like hogs by someone you thought you can trust
What strikes me is that they seem to break the law constantly. Making phone calls while driving, misplacing and loosing guns without reporting it and driving over the speed limit. All seems minor in relation to the murder, but seems to do what they want. So much for law conscious people.
He carried a badge and had blue lights installed in his personal car, he thought he was above the law or maybe he was. Until he savagely murdered his wife and kid and SLED was called in.

Although he was ill, they need to check to see how Alex’s father passed 3 days after the double homicide. Because this guy will hurt anybody to try to get the heat off himself or try to gain sympathy. Plus, the housekeeper was still holding on until a hospital visit from Alex. He’s a serial unaliver.

IMO Buster doesn't care whether his dad is guilty or innocent...he NEEDS to follow dad's orders to get his share of the HIDDEN MONEY. I don't think the apple falls far from the tree.
Of course Buster is going along with the “ my father is innocent” routine. He needs Alex to be innocent for the own namesake… do you think he would want to walk the earth with a tarnished name?
Do you mean Buster killed Stephen Smith? (You wrote her) If that is true I sure wish he would confess and give Stephens Smith’s family the closure they deserve.
Buster is GAY and was having it off with Steven Smith - that's why he had him killed, to cover it up. A Murdaugh can be a killer, a liar and a con man, but he can't be homosexual!
Everyone seems to comment on how Buster has remained unemotional while sitting in court and now testifying. NO ONE can say how he should think, act or feel. Unless you've been in his shoes (which I pray none of us ever are) you have no right to judge his actions or "lack-ofs"......
watch the parkland trial. that happened 4 years after. every single family member of every victim was completely devestated on the stand. His lack of emotion is beyond the scope of a normal reaction. There is nothing normal about his lack of emotion. Same with the dad and his fake tears
Listen to the jailhouse phone calls between him and Alec. They tell it all. Alec always needs a favor; to call somebody or talk to somebody about something. You can feel Buster's frustration, but he's submissive. He's a Murdaugh, and that comes with a duty and obligation to protect the family's power and position. He had 2 uncles, his father, and his father's defense team -- all attorneys -- drilling him on how to perform on that stand today, all the way down to posture and placement of his hands. He has no place to grieve. But I think his stoicism is two-fold. He is so angry with the media, and not about to let a news outlet catch him with a single tear on his face.
“A moment of levity?” No that was outrageous pointing that gun toward the State’s table and saying “ tempting” in a trial over the horrific shooting deaths of 2 people. Totally inappropriate and unprofessional. South Carolina has a law against pointing a gun at someone - even if the gun isn’t loaded.
@K it’s ridiculous to think for one second that entitled kid let ANYONE else drive his boat. The other kids were adamant that the Paul was in control of everything that night. Alex had the AUDACITY to harass these kids while they were still in the hospital. No one thinks for one second anyone else was driving but Paul.
I can't imagine being all into my grown sons' lives. I wouldn't want to be with a guy who had to talk to his Mama and Daddy multiple times a day. Can't cut the apron strings!
This whole case is so disturbing…BM may be feigning support for his dad because the dad has kept “secrets” for him. I just can’t trust them at all, they seem to lack real emotion..very weird
He offered nothing for the defense. He gave the Prosecution that his family was united because none of them believed he was driving the boat, he didn't know his Dad's birthday and oh how I wish it was asked about him being kicked out of law school for cheating and plagiarism. Alex Murdaugh was very animated while Buster was on the stand. He looked like he could have never been more proud of Buster as he was at that moment. He kept smiling and nodding his head throughout Buster’s testimony to cue Buster in on any given subject.
Buster and his daddy are a tag team. My heart goes out to Paul and Maggie and all the innocent people who worked for this family and were put in tough positions; especially the housekeeper who supposedly “tripped & fell” which caused her to die. 🙄
But what about the video in the dog kennel and in the background you could hear Alex Paul and Maggie? I wonder why the prosecution didn't play that video again and ask Buster if that was his father's voice.
He completely skipped over any emotions when learning about the deaths of his mother and brother .. it was “well my girlfriend Brooklyn” … yada yada He does that same deflection to the girlfriend several times when he is asked about his thoughts/feelings or anythi substantive. Also- he has no idea of his fathers birthday?
Look at Alec smirk on his face like it says that’s my boy.. Make me so proud Buster.. Your my golden boy and when you get your lawyer degree you’ll get me out ..
And they all laugh when attorney carries a gun? Interesting. Funny moment? Not to me. And if half of my family died I would be appaled. But this was Alex's attorney! So defense finds this laughable. Those who want us believe true killer is still out there. Even more interesting. They have no dignity.
*You would think if your son and your spouse were killed...You'd want to know WHY and WHO did it!* If you watch any of these old cold cases...the family ALWAYS wants these answers! When you have a spouse not looking for any answers...they already know the "who and why." Why isn't Alex searching for the killer...why isn't he scared he's on that hit list? He reeks of guilt...I can smell it from here.
If i remember alex smiles came as buster was talking about their life as a family. His father hasn’t seen is son in awhile. He’s sitting there watching his son in a difficult situation and he’s reminiscing with great regret!
His comment about supporting his brother Paul's defense in the deadly boating accident, isn't any different than supporting his daddy Alex. Paul and Alex haven't been held accountable by any of the Murdough family members. You can support someone, and hold them accountable. It doesn't mean you have to deny, lie, cover-up, shift the blame, or make excuses for them in order to support them. Buster is in a bad predicament that no child should be in this whole thing makes me cry! He's lost his brother and mother and soon his father it's just awful
I agree. I have seen many survivors of murder victims respond like this. Many do not shed tears in public. In fact, a frequent explanation is that if they allow themselves to start they fear they will never regain their composure. Also, they do not want to set off a reaction. They don’t want hugs, back rubs, other people’s tears. Many say they cry in their car. is His trauma is compounded by the fact that his father is the suspect. Regarding Stephen Smith, the presence of his father and uncle at the accident scene as well as the purported call to the family offering help is typical greedy ambulance chaser activity. They thought there was a possibility of finding an insured driver who left the scene. Big payout. This is actually more likely than the suggested scenario. I am glad the investigation is open to find out. I have compassion for Buster.
When it comes to AM's call to Buster en route to Almeda - does anyone else think it's reasonable that AM would appear normal, nothing too off during those convos? Just look at his trend - look at his behavior with LE during & after the 6.7.21 911 call, his demeanor during the roadside-event 911 call -- look at how quickly he was able to switch gears. He admits Sept. 4th was a setup, but he lead & wanted all to believe otherwise. The patterns seem nearly innate with him & I'm sure Buster, even C Wilson, would have had zero reason to think something was off with AM that night. Whole thing's unfortunate & unbelievable (imo).
The man appeared normal, genial, charming and caring during all the years while he fleeced his work partners, his desperate and trusting clients and his closest friends and family. Clearly, he wears a mask very easily, or ...he simply does not feel the normal palette of emotions, and he reacts only to his self-interest.
As I watched this, I noticed how Alex just smiled at Buster. To me, it seemed he was very proud of Buster and happy to see him as well. Alex has done horrible evil things, obviously. It is still very hard for me to believe Alex killed Maggie and Paul.
The motive was, Maggie and Paul knew about Alex's drugs. Paul found his latest stash and confiscated them. Alex was told by them both, he had to go to drug rehab and they had his "precious" drugs to where Alex was in detox and this made him crazy. He had "anger and hate in his heart". That is exactly what Alex said on the witness stand as a FACT that the killer had to have to kill them. Alex had more love for his 20 + years for his drugs than he had for his wife and son. It's that simple and sad.

The proud Papa grin on Alex’s face while his pride and joy surviving son tells what happened when he found out his family had been murdered. The whole family is just WEIRD. Hollow.
Agree! creepy grin! Guilty or innocent he shd sit ther hang his head low in shame. He brought shame and devastation to Buster. Great fathering🤨
I thought I mistaken that he had a grin 😏
Alex tries soooooo hard to convey whatever he believes to be the correct emotions...it's odd looking at best! Alex shaking and quaking when he thought that was the appropriate behavior when his son's remains were being described was cringey...it did not come across as "omg he's so sad" ...more like "am I shacking enough, am I quivering in the correct way?"
*I guess what I'm trying to say is his behavior looks fake and forced.* When someone is in distress and sad, my body will align with that usually by crying along side them. I don't get that with Alex. And, unfortunately, his son Buster appears to be a chip off the ol' block!
Gingers have no soul.
Who would have an evil grin like that after your family has been murdered
I don't think Buster is as innocent as everyone thinks. Its just a feeling.
I have the same feeling
I agree
I wouldn’t completely disagree that he was there either as a participant in the murders or there to go the other direction with bloody clothes and remember, the guns haven’t been found.
@@susannunn3945 there's videos of Buster and probably one of his uncles taking guns and bags of stuff out of the Moselle house. A guy with a drone from the road captured it.

Yes he is - and his son Buster is a chip off the old block! I'd bet my house the kid will end up ruining many lives, just as his dad did - he didn't just inherit his horrific red hair!
Just so smug - Buster has perfected the behaviour!

Yes, and dad is trying to bribe his son. What about the #10,000 and trying to get him back into lawyer school. Buster is already a cheater.

Yes I heard the same thing about Stephen Smiths death. They opened the case a couple of weeks ago
Exactly so he's going to say anything that his dad wants because his dad has dirt on him!
Watch Buster when asked uncomfortable or lying eyes as he turns his eyes towards his dad. When asked regular questions he doesn't. As the song says...lying eyes...watch his eyes.
Buster cannot hide his lying 👀
Gets very fidgety at points, enjoying watching them watching each other here... close family members and legal reps are often capable of communicating in non verbal ways . My mother spoke volumes with her eyes, facial expressions / body language, as do I/ most of us.
Learnt from birth.
Every time Buster lied he looked at his dad
huh?
He wants whatever is left in hiding so he’s going to say whatever his Dad tells him to. Plus I think he’s always been his daddy’s puppet. That’s why he’s here. Ya know what I’m saying…
I had a feeling he was like his dad
Plus he's also a murderer

Buster was in some trouble at law school 4 cheating and it’s sad that his own farther is using his only son that’s left to move money and to get rid of stuff at all the property’s when a judge has ordered to all assets to be frozen and then get him to victim blame Paul 4 leaving guns around the property when buster said on the stand that he left guns all around the property 2 and loaded as well.🐨🇦🇺

These wealthy families will always cover for each other. I had a family member in a similar circumstance. Seemed like the perfect family from the outside. But behind closed doors lying, cheating, drugs, corruption. They put on good show for the public.

👍🏻😄
Of course she is paid by Alex.
Who’s she??
I agree...
He also could be saying, “ they did him so bad”, (intentionally many times) because he was trying to create a story that a crew of people came and did these horrible acts. Also, for such a “tight” family, Buster didn’t even know when his Dad’s birthday is.
I thought that was odd as well...
Buster was kicked out of law school for lying and cheating .apple doesn't fall far from evil dad tree
Corruption breeds more corruption in many of these cases. So much for their adherence to the law when they've been violating the law for more than likely many decades including. @@stuckinflorida97 let’s hope the jury saw all his smirks and laughter as well as giving one witness the finger. PS I am stuck in Florida too lol
Face it he's done then finish it
I think of this all the time.
I think Alex is absolutely guilty. Paul caused the boating accident because he was drunk and a 19 year old girl died. The law suit was for 30 million. Maggie and Paul had known about his drug addiction. I think Maggie was divorcing him, going to cost more money!
@@bbe3034 and he couldn't sell a house because it was on Maggies name and I doubt ze wanted to sell it. Now her being decided he is the next benefit holder
I'd rather see cousin Eddie instead of Buster
The freakiest part of Busters testimony was saying none of them believed Paul was driving that boat ! THATS SICK !!
Paul wasn’t. His alter ego Timmy was. That’s worse from what I’ve heard !!
how do you get off of being responsible: Deny Deny Deny!
I expected nothing from him , did y'all REALLY ? Cover your ass always is this family motto
Yea his testimony did nothing for me
If you already have your mind made up then of course 😂
It's funny that they are making such a huge thing out of the "they" or "I"...even if it was "they"...why'd he say "they?" Plural! It boggles the mind that he ISN'T searching for the "true killer" if in fact he's innocent...the family always begs to know who and why. You'd think he'd be scared his life, that he might be next...I mean he was the family fraudster, but they said he wasn't scared. Sounds like someone who already knows the "who and why" and therefore, isn't scared. He reeks of guilt...it bubbles off him!
Buster appeared to be over coached, detached and very matter of fact. Not a lot of warm fuzzies coming from him.
Not at all. Cold as ice!
They probably convinced him to stand in solidarity with his father for the sake of the entire family.
You know they did. Never ONCE has anyone talked about finding the “real killer “. I would be adamant if my family member was wrongly accused.
An entire family of 1.
Exactly, on the jail house calls between Buster and Alex, neither one of them discussed if the killer had been found because it was Alex. I learned on another channel that Alex’s father left his 4 children 16 million dollars. And it can’t be touched by the courts or anyone but them.
I'm sure generations were raised with the 'but family' attitude.
And don’t forget Buster inherits anything left over once his father is firmly in jail for life. That’s a great motive for Buster to appear on his fathers side.

What strikes me is that they seem to break the law constantly. Making phone calls while driving, misplacing and loosing guns without reporting it and driving over the speed limit. All seems minor in relation to the murder, but seems to do what they want. So much for law conscious people.

It runs in the family history obviously.
Well , Buster wasn't very emotional and hasn't shown any emotion during details of the killings. Jury is smart enough to know Buster doesn't want his dad to go to prison.
I think he would like his daddy in prison, actually.
Awkward time for Alex to be smiling like that, no? Buster was nervous. And I noticed when he kept yanking on his ear he would look at his Dad. Not sure if that was a cue for something? And he drank a lot of water. Your mouth gets dry when you lie. Facts.

Buster was there to do a job. Hard to believe he could talk about the call when he found out about the murders with literally zero emotion
The person responsible for putting Buster in this position is ALEX. Maybe his dad should have thought of the impact it would have on him when Alex was stealing money and manipulating people,, or being associated with drugs. Or possibly/ probably murdering his mother and brother.
Unfortunately, Buster is not the only person who has had to suffer the consequences of their parents' actions.

He showed no emotion whatsoever. There's plenty of family money to take care of Buster.
Not after all of the money lost to fraud by Alex.
Of course Buster is going along with the “ my father is innocent” routine. He needs Alex to be innocent for the own namesake… do you think he would want to walk the earth with a tarnished name?
Isn't it already tarnished to the point of destroyed?

Do you mean Buster killed Stephen Smith? (You wrote her) If that is true I sure wish he would confess and give Stephens Smith’s family the closure they deserve.
It’s a small town. Someone knows the truth.
Buster is GAY and was having it off with Steven Smith - that's why he had him killed, to cover it up. A Murdaugh can be a killer, a liar and a con man, but he can't be homosexual!
Idk... there's something not right about him I can't quite put my finger on.
Everyone seems to comment on how Buster has remained unemotional while sitting in court and now testifying. These murders happened coming up on 2 yrs ago, it's very possible that he could be very depressed, have PTSD, have anxiety, is not an outwardly emotional person or just plain cried out! Has Buster shed a Tear yet ?
Why is he so calm and relaxed....
Have you ever had a loved one in jail? That's what every phone call is for. You can't waste valuable phone time talking about the weather. LOL
Defense should have pushed him way harder in cross. He is not a credible witness.
He actually said Paul wasn’t driving the boat
@K it’s ridiculous to think for one second that entitled kid let ANYONE else drive his boat. The other kids were adamant that the Paul was in control of everything that night. He does that same deflection to the girlfriend several times when he is asked about his thoughts/feelings or anythi substantive.
Also- he has no idea of his fathers birthday?
Buster is clearly ready to answer the question before it is asked.
Buster shouldn't waste any of his time trying to get back into law school. No law firm in the United States of

If Buster thinks his dad said "they did him so bad" then Buster must also think his dad knows who "they" is.
Absolutely correct
If i remember alex smiles came as buster was talking about their life as a family. His father hasn’t seen is son in awhile. He’s sitting there watching his son in a difficult situation and he’s reminiscing with great regret!
He doesn't know his dad's birthday.... being wealthy doesn't mean you're a great family...
The evidence was/is obvious, Paul was driving the boat, and Alex killed his son and wife.
its a 1 hour drive from columbia to moselle or from his girlfriends house it is also 1 hour. So if buster says if he left at 10.30 pm or 11 pm and getting to moselle at 2 pm in the morning he would have gotten to moselle at 12 pm : He is lying 6:53 timestamp he looks at his father and does this tongue in cheek thing and looks down and around and looks like he knows he lied. He does this every time in this testimony , from when he talks about parking at the back of the house at night, if he went to mozelle at all after the murders, and also the time he gave when he said he arrived at almeda at sunset. He is lying
He thought he could get away with murder.
He's been lying his entire life. The lies flow so naturally from his lips. I think more than half of what he says are lies.
The man appeared normal, genial, charming and caring during all the years while he fleeced his work partners, his desperate and trusting clients and his closest friends and family. Clearly, he wears a mask very easily, or ...he simply does not feel the normal palette of emotions, and he reacts only to his self-interest.
When you worship idols, this is what happens to a family. How many others are out there? No one takes responsibility anymore.
As I watched this, I noticed how Alex just smiled at Buster. To me, it seemed he was very proud of Buster and happy to see him as well. Alex has done horrible evil things, obviously. It is still very hard for me to believe Alex killed Maggie and Paul.
He keeps looking at his Father when he answers questions.
I like how buster would walk into court like he was something special. He’s nothing but crap too
Why ain't nobody talking about Buster not knowing his dad's birthday while ON the stand?? He must've prepared for this trail, including key dates like that! I don't know if Buster is in on it, but he is just as crooked as his daddy.
Who calls up and said your mother and brother was murdered over a phone call ????
Buster , the first thing he said ,that IT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TIME HIS FATHER CALL HIM TO REPORT THAT HIS MOTHER MAGGIE AND BROTHER PAUL........ARE DEAD.....and Buster it doesn't remember THE TIME ??? Give me a break, Because the defense attorneys schooled him well !!!
