    AMC did a great job designing and engineering the XJ Jeep! So much better than its successors.

      toyota land cruiser prado 90 was more luxurious , more reliable , more economical and it had the same power and torque too bad it was not offered in the US market but the 4runner is basically the same

      Toyota are the best there is no competition no arguments.... the nato use them,all the poor countries use them and you know a poor country want to use something reliable and also the terrorist use them for the same reason....jeeps just look cool....you know even suzoki samuria could've take down jeep in the 70s and 80s but jeep bribed companies that do the crash tests to flip the suzoki in an unfair test and trashing suzoki name for 10 years untill suzoki won the case at court but its reputation was all ready trashed.... i think jeep is pos and i hope next year they turn the wrangler to unibody

      actually, the XJ cherokee was kept in production up into 2013 or 2014 under license as the BAW Qishi in China. unfortunately, it doesn't use the old AMC Plants, they used nissan engines instead.

      +benbennit I'm looking around in the UK at the minute and can't find any Orvis Cherokees anywhere, let alone at that great price. Well done - if you can pass along where you were looking would be much appreciated.

    • @benbennit
      @benbennit 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's one on gumtree & ebay in Nottinghamshire with 60K . I reckon you could push the price down a fair amount (£1595). There is a second one on ebay, for £1200 but the mileage is almost double. It's in good condition though.

    Chrystler doing well with it? That's because they hardly changed anything to it. Jeep is the invention of the AMC that Chrystler bought.

  • @mikeg3529

    Its so weird how they look at this like its some luxury vehicle that holds it value. In the states these were like one of the cheapest bare bones 4x4's you could buy from an american company. They were SO damn common where I grew up. It was like the civic of the 4x4 vehicles. A dime a dozen, simple, reliable honest transport. They were outstanding value vehicles because they were cheap to maintain and performed well, But by no means where they ever considered luxury. Even the brand itself knew this, and thus created the "grand cherokee" series which was based on a whole new platform that offered more extensive options and provided more room for passengers.

  • @MrLmao37
    @MrLmao37 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own 3 Cherokee's a 1995 with 300,000 miles, a 1996 that iam building in to an off road vehicle with a 4 1/2 inch lift and a parts jeep to build the 2nd. the are awesome, they are rugged and we'll built, look on line and see how many after market parts you can get for the cherokee, winch bumpers ect. AMC got the cherokee right when they made it, over 3 million were built between 1984-2001.

    The Cherokee stayed the same because it was kept around by popular demand. The Grand Cherokee was designed to be it's replacement a decade before the Cherokee Hamster was driving.
