@@TheFoxEssence so from what i understand. The new steam release of doom 1 and 2 still use the same unedited wad files. So it would be the same as using the wad files you alreaxy have or got. What the new release does have is a vault of unreleased sprites for everything. Including fully done arms and guns for your hud. Basically this is a treasure trove for modders and expect to see some really cool stuff coming out the next few years
I'd like to see a alternate version of this where the doom enemies are kept intact and just the space marine replaced with duke and his arsenal of weapons.
It plays so comfy like. Only thing is a few enemies are harder to kill. Like the flosting brain dudes. In duke 3d. One rocket or devistator rocket is an instant kill against them..... not here 🤣 they can tank a rocket at times Plus some weapons have a secondary attack. The shotgun has a 9 shell explosive blast. Trip mines habe 2 settings. Either regular lazer mine. Or proximity setting. Works well throwing one on an enemy.
Imagine mixing in a bit of Blood into this as well as the Duke and Doom.. there's a Blood-Doom crossover "BlooM" so I guess it wouldn't be too hard to do. Would be kinda cool to do co-op and see the characters from the others perspective.
@@austinmaxi then you would love samsara using zdoom or zandronum. Theres roighly 20ish different characters you can choose. The enemies show up from whateber you choose. Had me and 4 friends play it. We had duke, doom guy, the ship from descent. And blake stone. All the enemies where a mox of the 4. Was awesome

@@omegatails the mod is DN3DOOM very very fun with little adjustment in the settings. I have it running in GZDoom. But also works in zandronum as a great mulitplayer experience

i can only think of one marine i chapter 1 level 3. only time duke says anything about space marines. they are similar for sure. but unfortunatly no, they have nothing to do with each other, different companies, different engines, different stories. if a dead space marine as an easter egg was considered canon. then we have to add in alot of other games. Halo for example. same with quake. all are referenced by a line or line and visuals in duke games. i really wish it were true that duke and doom guy were in the same universe. cause they you have the ultimate 3 gand daddy player characters. bj, doom guy and duke all together.
@@danielghosn6529 i dont own a ps5. So i dont know of you can get something like gzdoom for it. If you can. Then all you need is dn3doom mod and your good to go
soooooo.... you know armor doesnt work the same way in duke 3d as it does in doom. there is no 33% or 60% coverage on which armor you pick up. instead it gives you random protection varying for 20% to 50% per hit.... so what your suggesting works with doom, but not duke nukem. before calling me a noob, do some research 😎

You want Samsara. It's an older mod that lets you choose from a multitude of different characters including the Duke.

dn3doom already has that option. You can fight doom enemies or duke enemies, or both at the same time.
