We did lose both coordinators this year, but we hired Houston’s DC Shiel Wood and Texas States OC Mac Leftwich. With their track record and these transfers already Tech has no excuses for not at least competing for a conference title
On ttu, we do have a new oc and dc, but they seem to be upgrades over the previous coordinators. O-line, d-line and secondary were the problems last year, and all of those rooms were massively upgraded through the portal, added to a base that was a game out from playing for the conference championship. Im excited. Wreck em!
Hoping you’re right - lot of new parts to sort through and get moving in the same direction. I’m in the camp of wait and see. Not even remotely close to predicting a conference title.
Morton is actually going to be in a new offense with Mac leftwich out of Texas state. Plus behind him is an elite 11 finalist who a lot of us believe has a higher upside and already has a better pocket presence (tomorrow we will see). I think qb is going to be fine.
Everyone said the same thing about behren when he was a young guy. People need to realize he was a top 10 guy yardage wise. Some of his problems were him, but a lot were from a poor O line. Plus the average fan doesn’t realize how much of their pass plays only had 3 receivers out on routes because brooks and Tharp/conyers stayed in for pass protection most of the time.
@@ExplorinInTheWoods didn’t say Morton isn’t good. But Hammond has more upside. He’s already better in the pocket. He’s more traditionally skilled because he played 6a ball and had to develop it. Morton was at tiny eastland and out athleted people. His great skill was throwing on the run though and he’s come along in other areas. Go watch Hammonds tape. You can see how much further ahead he was for yourself. I love em both.
Still need to get past Arkansas and a bunch of other schools but you got that powerhouse thing going on for the future that's cool. Lubbock is such a thriving something a meer animated tumble from being entertaining. Gumz up. Pistola de casquillo...arriba!
Great content, as always! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
It will be another hanging around the mid to bottom of the conference. Some random bowl against an SEC team and a god awful performance. It breaks my heart every year but it’s true
They will have the most talented roster in the Big 12 by a long shot. If they don't win the conference championship it will be on the coaches, not the players.
Did you watch this entire video? There's a chance they can't, but this is their best chance ever, including when Mahomes was slinging it for Kliff. This is pushing all the chips to the middle of the table to go for the championship next year.
Thanks as always for covering Tech!
You're welcome!
Texas Tech can absolutely make the playoff with this portal haul plus upgrades at both coordinators.

Great video. Excellent analysis.

You have to Develop the talent you bring in. Top Talent requires Top Coaching.

Thanks for making the conference look bad against an anemic Arkansas team.

It's gunna be the same as it has been every year. All talk and no results. Good luck tech fans going 7-6 or 8-5 again. Hell even going 6-7.
Texas Tech where Patrick Mahomes went?? Probably not. They might look good on paper, but the season will show their deficiencies.
