Trent, fair is fair, you have many big boy toys. You have purchased your project truck, your car lift, your snowmobile, shop size tool boxes, power tools for just about anything, and your building a mancave etc. Allie works hard, and is supportive of you. She deserves a nice hot tub. She shouldn't have to wait indefinitely while you keep adding to your already large collection of wants. You have figured out how to do a lot of things, I am sure you can figure out a hot tub. Lots of people have them who live in the mountains where it snows. Don't hear her asking for much. She deserves this!
Trent, use Break In oil. When you first start engine, DONT let it idle. Let it run at 1500 or higher, for awhile.Very important and if you break it in right, Toyota will last 350000
The boys are at it again!! Are we sure that Brandon and Trent are not brothers from different mothers?!! lol They work so good together and they appear to know what the other one wants before asking!! Great video guys!! Happy boys again!!
Replacing the belt pulleys is the best choice. Besides the fact of access under the belts, once the "engine" is installed, the front member and radiator are in the way and have to be removed to get room to do the work. So, trying to get as much done BEFORE the engine/tranny combo are installed is a wise option. Hope no other hardware surprises show up.
Harbor Freight Power steering pulley puller for the win, $20 piece of mind. You'll also need it to put the new pulley on the pump. Great job getting that broke stud out, I think it'll be fine. But, There had to be a reason it failed, just to make sure, run a tap down that hole and blow it out.
"There's always a problem or two on my horizon". LOL Brandon laughed. Trent, you do tend to collect problems when most people deflect them, but you always manage to get through!
I have no idea what you are doing or talking about, but I find myself oddly mesmerized by what you are doing and saying. To me an arbor is a garden decoration. My favorite saying of yours is,” We’ll see what happens.” Accessories are what you add to an outfit and I still watch you do stuff and talk a language I don’t understand. I love this!
Well said, well said! I feel the same! If it wasn't for Trent though, I probably wouldn't love it. There's just something about him that makes everything he does interesting.
"It's bound to be exciting!" So right!! Love having fun and mechanicing...that doesn't happen with most! Can't wait to see this CRAWLWER crawl!! Hope all has a blessed week!
Good Sunday Morning Trent 🌄 we love watching you work on the Truck alot of my friends are learning 😀 thanks you have a fantastic day Allie and Leo. Take care God bless you guys..
Oooo ... looks fast 😂❤ it totally does... ROFLMAO Trent... the definition of courage... trying something quite complicated when you've never done it before.... and not giving up 💜 go get em Kiddo...
Oh goodness Trent what a great video, you and Brandon are so amazing I really like watching your videos and seeing all of the work you both do. Thanks again, sending love and hugs, bye! 🤗💜
Fate put you and brandon back together what's meant to be will always be. You both work Magnificent together. Look how much you and ellie have accomplished with brandon being by your side. There is no way you would be this far without him. He is so loyal. Really great video to watch the progress of your project 💯💯💯
Trent, go to Harbor Freight an buy a cheap power steering puller and installer its all in a package. Lot cheaper than buying a new pulley. Been there done that. Never know you might need it again. Have a great week. God bless.
Awesome job Trent , just a suggestion, I would consider replacing those accel coil packs even if they are new , the factory ones are way better, the accel ones fail and for some reason Toyotas don’t seem to run well with them ? I ended up going back to stock ones and way less issues 🤷🏼♂️ Just a thought
That "absolutely" from Brandon at the end seemed rehearsed and I could feel the hernia about to happen from when he lifted the engine and Trent started explaining what he was about to do. Brandon, blink twice if you're doing this against your will! :)) cheers to the progress, team!
Good morning Trent and Brandon, Sunday greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲. Boy you guys crushing it 😅😅😅. When Trent is finished Brandon will be jack of all trades, not sure which one he will master. 😅😅😅😅
Lol! Brandon already may be an awesome mechanic!! We know very little about him but we do know Brandon is the BEST friend anyone could ask for!! And so in Trent!!
Just a word of advice you better pull out that plug that you put the red lock tight on before it cures and put some permatex or some other type heat resistant sealer. Red lock tight will not seal it will leak
And you're not supposed to fully Tighten up anything you put permitex on because too much squeezes out and then you won't get a good seal. You should just tighten it up so it oozes a tiny bit and then wait till it cures and then give it a final torque that way. You'll still have enough sealant in between the 2 surfaces so it will still properly. OTHERWISE IT WILL LEAK So you have to do your oil Pan and other part of the oil Pan gasget over again.
Trent...as a wood furniture builder I'm trying to look past what I believe was you using a wood chisel to unscrew that broken stud. I cant bring myself to rewind and verify
Trent, love the truck build and the way you work at a reasonable skill level. What is the red/clear plastic thing around the chuck on your drill press?
I know you are the best Im your fan as well as your family, very good vibe in the video, lots of collaboration, very inviting to see, why dont you experiment just a little bit with narration over the action? not always, but sometimes when you are doing a complex task we can learn about the step by step while we hear your thoughts. BTW i admire your determination, your focus and your way to achieve your objetives. Hello from Mexico City.
I just hope they dont forget about that stud. Could leak oil or may bey hold but with what they plan on putting this engine through .... dont forget the stud and nut guys. 8-)
Hi Trent, really enjoy both of your channels! I was watching this video and right at 1:29 it looks like a crack in the aluminum. Right next to the bolt you were installing. Hope I'm wrong! (Or maybe it doesn't matter...)
I know its Trent's Garage but would sure be nice to see the little giggle get her hands dirty on some of this. Great video and I know she is the technical department and extremely good at it. Just think she should have some hands on and understanding as it wont be Brandon on the trails with you all the time. She will be your wrenching buddy. :) PS...I don't mean get rid of Brandon, pass him the camera every now and then.
You can just swap out the pulley bearings with NSK bearings ........also I am curious about the power steering pump.....is that for rack and pinion or???
When the wrench clicks, quit pulling. If you click twice, it's technically over torqued(ask me how I know). 50 years on fighter aircraft, and yes, things break. That's what your situation looked like. That stud failed before torque was met. You're lucky it came out that easy. Most bolts have a torque range that you can work with, so if it calls for 17-21 ft lbs, torque it at the lower setting until your sealant sets and go back and re-torque to the median range. 19 lbs. I guarantee you'll get a little movement. Never use max torque on assembly. Especially with aluminum.
Was there supposed to be sealant around the large hole on the block side of the oil pan. I'm not a Toyota tech. but it lookes like that may run from the oil pickup, not yet installed. I would be worried about the possibility of the pump sucking air across that surface. Please let me know if my comment helped you.
I have a story. My husband wanted to make extra money for Christmas. His aunt Myrtle needed the engine built in her car. He worked during after hours from his job for two weeks. When he finished, she said that she knew he didn't want her to pay him but she insisted on him taking $20. 🤯 This was back in the nineties but still! 😠 She is now in HER nineties and has a hard time finding anyone to do ANYTHING for her. KARMA'S real folks!
Was your torque numbers in inch pounds and you were throwing foot pounds onto those bolts? The little bolts like that should be 8 foot pounds or 80 inch pounds max I'm thinking... looked like you were putting way more effort into it than that!
On a previous episode, Trent talked about how he was going to go to car mechanic school (him and a childhood friend spent many years working on cars and that friend did end up going to car mechanic school), but fate happened, and he didn't end up going. But! He's obviously well trained without have done it!
@trent’s Garage You may have some slight timing issues with decking a Toyota block 😬🤷🏼♂️(VVTI ) I’ve been told by a Toyota master tech! But that also may be toyota wanting to sell you a new block 🤦🏼♂️so who knows
@@Trents.garage Trenton thing you could do since you had the heads and block milled is to put thicker or over sized head gaskets on it. You have to make up for the space you had milled for 2 reasons, compression and timing, so you have to use thicker gaskets or new heads. Although there are bad things with thicker gaskets too. Plus you had block don too. One of the reasons why thick gaskets are not a good idea is heat transfer. The heat of the block is different than the heat of the head, so if you have a thick gasket in between there, the gasket takes all of the heat and becomes somewhat deformed because of unequal heat on both sides. A thinner gasket will allow the heat transfer from block to head a little more easily. Thats one part of gasket theory. I have more in one of my boilermaker books.

Get on it bruh!! Allie start shopping!!!

Great point Mitch

Looking good Trent I’ll be watching for the next one

Proud of you Trent
I've missed your videos during the last couple of weeks. So glad your back
Coming together. Looking good.
As with most things there will always be issues. Just hope for small ones and power through the larger ones.
Coming along nicely!
I caught that a team reference.😃
I just dig your new channel 👍🏼👍🏼 I can’t wait for the next episode
Trents Garage logo reminds me of the Wonder Bread logo.. SHAKE AND BAKE BABY!
Lol
Good Morning Trent. Hears to hoping that your day is filled with happiness and good things. Say hello to Allie and Leo and Frank and Leka.
Broken studs are going to happen - progress is progress. Getting it done and hopefully running shortly.
Keep building

That would be a great investment!
@@Trents.garage So would a hot tub, remember happy wife happy life. Allie deserves this.
best practice is to lube gaskets before installing them
Do you have a pulley puller? These things are worth the money!
Hey Boss,ty 1st of all. YOU need SLEEP! NO running around. NO working. NO DRIVING. LOCKED-IN with LEO Day Dad!!!!
Episode: "Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey"
Getting closer to having it running. Question: why don’t you have Leo out there helping you, never to young starting him to be a mechanic? Lol

The video did not show, but was there a seal on the pump pick up?
Thank you went a little overboard on the lock tight doesn't take much when you are using the red.
Yeah when watching the video I realize there was a ton on there lol
Trent more tools always go for more tools
One bolt a time lol 😁
Good morning!! What are we doing this morning??
🥰
I don't know I am asking do you have to watch how tight the bolts are
eBay is a scary place 😉
When torquing you should follow a pattern, not like you are doing?

21 ft/lb ? Should be around 16 ft lb for 12mm head and 7-8 ft lb for 10mm head
Off the top of my head I think it called for 19 ft lbs
I don't understand why guys put a.c. on rock crawlers ,especially when you put half doors and window nets.
It’s for the wife and baby when it’s super hot out! I think I’ll keep the doors on most of the time with this rig
