- When Melbourne won the rights to host the Australian F1® Grand Prix, they needed a trophy, something that would stand as a symbol Australia, and pay tribute to the country's rich history in motorsport.
There are many iconic pieces of silverware in world sport. The Stanley Cup (NHL), the Venus Rosewater Dish (Wimbledon), the America's Cup (Sailing), FIFA World Cup Trophy and the Claret Jug (The Open Championship) among many others have become symbols throughout history, held by some of the most iconic and influential names in the history of their respective sports.
The Australian F1® Grand Prix trophy is no different. Lifted on Sunday afternoon at Albert Park by some of racing's greatest ever, with likes Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and more recently Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen having ascended the top step at Albert Park to lift this iconic piece of silverware.
This is the story of Flynn's: the two brothers based in Kyneton, Victoria that take us behind the scenes and share the story of this iconic trophy's meaning, the secrets embedded within the trophy and the early designs that have seen the Australian F1® Grand Prix trophy quickly establish itself as one of the most sought afterpieces of silverware in Formula 1®.

Great to see these artisans get some love. I always feel that those who put all that effort into those wonderful trophies presented at the Grand Prixs are under appreciated.
Well said! We couldn't agree more.
What a fascinating story. Such an iconic Aussie trophy and rugged enough to be considered Lando-proof. 😁
Thanks for watching. We love this piece.
I love how every trophy is made uniquely from each country F1 visits.
We're bias, but we think ours is one of a kind.
Now *this* is quality content .Bravo.
Thanks for the kind words. We’re really proud of this one and love the story.
This should be added as part of the broadcast. What a wonderful story 👍
We agree.... we tried.....
One of the most iconic winner’s trophies in Formula One.
Thanks for the kind words. We certainly are very proud of our trophy.
I've always liked the Australian Grand Prix trophy, but hearing its story has made me love it even more. Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a fun one to make
Loving the Fiat 850 in the driveway at the end. Looks immaculate, lucky they have all those skills to keep the rust out of it.
This race is the only one that Jenson Button has won more than once. His other 12 wins are all different circuits
He was very good here!
even the dictionary is lost for words on this beautiful story ...
Personally id love to see a return of floral wreaths return as a nod to the classic, historic , nostalgic good ol days....F1 probably has a rule against that
Beautiful words. Thank you
Go Dan, that was very interesting. I look forward to meeting you and seeing your work again. Last year it was a memory I will never forget. - Henry S. (Mum works with Helen)
So beautiful to discover all the thought, passion and care that goes into these trophies.
Thanks for telling this story
Thanks for watching. We loved putting this one together.

So you should be proud. Fantastic @@ausgrandprix
We’ll pass on the comment to the team
Much more details and thought put in to designing the trophy. Fantastic work by the artisans who made it. Just need to l have one of our drivers win it at Albert Park.
Also where is the 2020 AGP trophy that was not issued as the race was cancelled due to Covid??
An Aussie lifting the trophy on Sunday afternoon is the dream.
could have done an extended version of there story and the trophy ... didnt expect it to be as interesting as it was
We agree. Once we started, there was much more to it than firs thought.
Do these brilliant craftsmen have a succession plan for the future? I would love to know there were young people ready to step up and carry on their legacy, and keep manufacturing these beautiful trophies.
What a fantastic piece, and a wonderful story. Defintely one of the iconic trophies with some actual heritage and a million times better than the sponsor logo generic garbage handed out at some of the other races. Brilliant to see the skilled craftsmen at work and they can definitely be proud of what they produce.
We're glad you enjoyed it. We're really proud of our trophy.
Without a dount the best looking throphy of the calendar!
Thanks. We are completely bias (of course), but we’re really proud of our trophy. We just wanted to share the amazing story of how it all came to be.
It is a stunning trophy and has always been my favorite of the F1 trophies. So elegant and well considered.
We love this piece and the story. Thanks for watching!
Love these kinds of videos, well done to all involved. So cool to learn who's behind the trophy and their story!
We’re actually very lucky to have a very talented in-house content team. They have certainly outdone themselves on this one.
I absolutely love stories like this, thanks for posting it.
Thanks for watching. The team did an amazing job and we thought it was absolute a story worth telling
Great video! Can’t wait to go to the Grand Prix in 2 days, as it’ll be the first F1 race I’ve seen in person!
(I’m also secretly there for V8 Supercars but don’t tell anyone).
Enjoy! It should be a great weekend.
the most iconic of F1 Trophies!!! sometimes a story this good becomes a fable which embodies grit, spirit and to never quit!
Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you got something out of it. We are really proud of our trophy and thought it was a story worth telling.

What a lovely video ❤
Thanks. We are very proud of our trophy and thought it was a story worth telling
Firstly, some more detailed shots of the final trophy would have been great but a lovely video!
The makers of the trophy should get to present it to the race winner (which would also increase the quality of some trophies eg Aramco Silverstone trophy)
Good stuff
It's probably the best trophy given to a race winner in F1. I didn't know the back story and it makes perfect sense now.
Thanks for the kind words
Great story,, impressive 👍
Thanks for then kind words. We’re so proud of our trophy and thought it was a story worth telling

Make a new drivingwheel look as they do to day with the australian country behind Nice trophy

One of the top 2 trophies in F1. For me it's a toss up between this beautiful piece of art, and the traditional Royal Automobile Club trophy for the British GP. But, if it was one I would have in my home, it's this one. Just stunning.
Thanks for showing us some of the artistry and skills behind it's design and production. I could watch a full hour of it to be honest. 😉
Thanks for the kind words. It's a trophy we're very proud of and think the story needed to be told
They don't let you keep the British one!
The TRUE QUESTION.......Can Lando Break it?????
Great back story, what a nice trophy! 🏆🇦🇺

We love this piece. Amazing story and the team did such a great job putting it together.
@@ausgrandprix Alright, great job, guys. 🙌🫶
Very cool. I don't care for cups either.
Who knew there was so much science and thought put into a trophy.
Skill's that'll be soon gone I guess.....Shame...Ha!
Hopefully not. It’s stuff like this that give us an insight into the true art form.
BRING BACK THE ADELAIDE F1!
