Have sat in many meetings where "the client has agreed to up your fee" is often code for "we've decided to up your fee to shut you up and we're able to do that because we originally quoted the client 6 times that amount for your services, plus our mark up, so it doesn't really impact our bottom line and we can pretend we're fighting your corner with the client so you'll work even harder for free and feel guilty while doing it."
Am I the editor you haven't found yet....? Great film. It is always complicated working on the social side of campaigns, the degree of flexibility and generally never ending list of deliverables, can make these kinds of jobs problematic. Sounds like you nailed it. 👏
I love it!! Also, the way you present everything is just amazing! But still, when is the video about video editing coming? :P looking forward to it :D again, great job
😂 no I do often work with other cinematographers, but on the first job here they specifically wanted me because I can shoot and direct, and for 80% of my food stuff it’s quite common that the director also DPs too. Often it comes down to budget, and availability, and if I can’t afford a DP that, in my taste, is better than me I’d rather do it myself. But I’ve had more than a few jobs this year where I’ve not touched the camera. The next breakdown that will be on this channel features a much better than me DP and it was a real joy to just let them do their thing.
He was from the older generation of impolite professionals, and just talked to me in an incredibly condescending and patronising way that I’ve only ever been spoken to like as a 17 year old doing running work experience, which I didn’t love then and I certainly don’t love now. It was a hierarchy thing, because as soon as he saw who I was there with and what I was doing his tone changed towards me, but because he wasn’t “my” 1st and I was his director, he was just very rude to me, because that’s what a lot of the older generations grew up knowing on set. It used to always be like that when I was first starting out, but I like to think things have improved since then for the most part.

Loved the hide-and-seek visual concept goes hand in hand with the topic 😂
Thanks Nurin - glad you enjoyed it :)
I didn't even see you in the bush...crafty!
This is one of the best TH-cam videos I've seen a "filmmaker" do in years ahaha
Appreciate it Noah 🙏

This was such a great video Scott, I really loved the creativity behind breaking down the jobs without breaking any NDAs. Thanks for sharing!

Happy to hear it 😁
I had no idea you were there 😂😂
I was happy with that one ☝️
You mention that you're a control freak... Is this why you mostly shoot the stuff you direct as opposed to getting a cinematographer?

English talking like S*** to other English? How so? Why do these people have too much ego to handle?
Love from Arg
