For the question of .30-06 versus the 7.62NATO, the .30-06 m2 ap and the 7.62x51n m61 have almost identical ballistics and penetration. It's why the military abandoned the larger 30 cal for the 308 in the early Vietnam era when combined with reduced brass costs for the slightly shorter cartridge and the widespread adoption of .308 within NATO following the M14 adoption.
Yeah, but if you update it to a modern 30-06 load it would double the performance. Its just mathematical impossible for a short action to equal a long action cartridge
10:14 To be fair, it's probably not fitted with ESAPI plates that standard US soldier would get, probably some aftermarket/storebought plate. On a different note, I wonder how a slottable armor plate system would be for the vests that support it. Like, all plate carriers get higher durability, but plates can be switched out if wanted.

Redut M take is so bad, it’s literally the best tier 5 for protection to usability ratio, it’s not a stupid arm protection 17 kilo armor like the redut t5, it protects way more than the gen4 hmk and costs and weighs the same, the only downside it it doesn’t repair that well
I've used the thor ic a few times, always after finding it in a cache. Generally speaking something fucky then happens and I don't survive the raid. The korund is missing a very specific group! those that, after getting prapor level 3, will use this as their default armor and will not run less than T5 armor for the rest of the wipe

Zhuk-3 Press armor is the evolutionary perfection of body armor in Tarkov. Paca doesn't protect against anything, Class 6 is like a sheet of plywood against the standard ammunition of mid/late wipe. But press armor, it's like the holy grail of scav protection. Once you come to the realization that PMCs are going to pen your armor nomatter what, you look to what will most effectively protect you against scavs, and the press armor is it. Lightweight, cheap, durable, repairs immaculately, comes back in insurance 99% of the time, protects against pistol and shotgun rounds, and is not nearly as blue as people think when you're actually in a raid. Paca is meme armor for lightweight builds, press armor is like a trade secret kept by the Barry Allens of tarkov.
@@bogdankl2000 Yes, you can. It might be level 6, but there is ammo that can pen. And it's made of armored steel, which doesn't have great durability to begin with, so it breaks down rather fast. Overall, the helmet + visor aren't really worth it. The helmet is the same level as most mid-tier helmets, the visor is overrated and makes you unable to see very well, and it is quite heavy.
Im very confused about the Redut-M it has great effective durability and "only" costs 200k, twice as much as the korund, but you also get 2.5 times as much effective armor. Dont know why it would be considered bad... they dont drop alot but when you need to buy an armor and dont wanna spend 500k and want one that will survive more than one bullet, then the Redut-M is a perfect solution
I basically exclusively use the zabralo as my main PVP armor, everyone uses the M4 right now so you can get away with a ton of aggro pushes by just eating 55A1 and then 1 tapping them to the head. People underestimate how useful that armor is just cuz it has heavy movement debuffs, its only like 300k to buy as well
.308 has more penetrative power due to its relative velocity to its mass. This is why contemporary armor can now stop up to 3 rounds of .308 at 5 meters before failure but can't stop 6.8
The Thor IC becomes the most common armor during the end of wipe max traders + 1 rouble event since its the only class 6 armor that can be bought with roubles.
I wonder how these stereotypes are gonna change when the new armor hitboxes are implemented. Because small form armors are gonna drop in usage since they give 0 neck and side torso protection. Making anyone with decent aim with a shotgun loaded with buckshot terrifying to come across.

I know that alot of it also comes down to cost, effectiveness, etc but I also feel since a helmet failing to stop a round is likely to instantly kill you, there isn't as large of a basis for what each helmet does better over the other.
