It's not hard to push someone across the room if he has both feet just square and not staggered. Especially if you are about the same weight. Klose was nor countering that force by leaning forward or having one foot behind in a fight stance to shift the weight while not falling back.
Any time you put your hands on another human being you've made your choice and it is yours to live with. Fighters more than anyone should understand that. Yes it was a freak accident but any time you touch another person of your own will that's your burden to carry.
It’s funny how Uncle Chael is trying to push a narrative that he just made up. No, don’t defend Jeremy, it was a shitty thing to do. Klose was in his face, but he wasn’t pushing on him. Jeremy’s got issues
Glad to see some sense among meathead casual fandom sometimes. I'm only an armchair anatomist, but I can see how you can sprain an upper body muscle from a push, especially one you weren't prepared for. Same principle that caused me severe rib pain for a week from nothing more than twisting and turning during a rolling session with friends. Weak points on your body are often not addressed with physical therapy until it's too late. And that include professional fighters with expensive camps. Jeremy Stephens and Derrick Lewis and others have to be told to chill out BEFORE fight day.
The UFC hates this incident because they love the pushing for its promotional drama. It gives the potential audience a first taste of the physical fight, the more "bad blood" the better, as long as nothing serious happens and the fight doesn't need to get canceled. Now, they have to "disallow" the pushing and actively do something to prevent it.
Let me share a murder situation I personally know of. A coworker I had went to England on holidays, he had a fight with someone in a bar and the other guy hit his head on the floor and died. Considering the damage that was inflicted upon Klose. cervical neck sprain (whiplash) and brain concussion, which in turn caused Klose to have the following symptoms: woke up disoriented and throwing up on fight day. Which was confirmed by a CT scan and diagnosis from the hospital. And that all happened, because Klose was severely dehydrated. I think that it would be in DW best interest, to bring down some sort of severe punishment to Jeremy Stephens. And what if Drakkar Klose has permanent damage done, and with that, his career is now shortened, because of the assault, that was recorded on video. Should he not be able to pursue some sort of legal action against Jeremy Stephens, and or the UFC, for damages, that occured, during a weigh in? Let's remember MMA aficionados. CTE begins by one person running into another person at full speed, and making contact with a part of the head, which then, spring boards into CTE And depending on the current length of Klose's career, taking punches, high kicks, elbows, forearms to the head, face during ground & pound in european organizations, long term will cause CTE to be expedited. Also, those actions take place during training pre - fight, that a fighter signs off on. This incident could literally set a legal precedence, if Drakkar Klose has a very experienced lawyer, that is well versed in the area of CTE.
Stephens needs to learn to keep his hands to himself. He's lucky he's not finishing this in court. At the very least Klose should recover his show and win money from Jeremy.
Chael, you should watch Brian Sutterer MD. His channel talks about all sports injuries, he talks about MMA injuries pretty often as well. Its an awesome channel.
Chael, I hear you and you are right, this is an unfortunate circumstance but it happens too often that fighters are up too close and push comes to shove. It would not be a bad idea if there was some type of separation when fighters face off to avoid these types of issues and keep the physicality in the octagon only because everyone loses when things like this happen. 🤔
Fine him. Give the money to Drakkar. If you have a bar fight, and no one gets hurt badly, there's no repercussions. If someone gets hurt during the bar fight, there's repercussions. There's no reason Drakkar shouldn't get some money, if an asshole wants to shove him when he's drained as hell during a weight cut.
@Chael Sonnen I formally apologize for my 2nd cousin he is a very respectful and good person but is very short-tempered and doesn't always realize his own strength and didnt expect any severe physical damage to be inflected on Drakkar, of course im not speaking for him but as I am very close with him I would expect he had no bad intentions. i figure he wasn't expecting to be shoved and that's what caused the damage but these guys need to learn this is a buisness..that push can have change the course of someone's career
It did. Klose passed away a couple hours ago
@@KM-ts6co i don't know if that's a mistake or a morbid joke but he seems to be very much alive
Whiplashed ain’t no joke his head snapped back it can also happen if you turn your head to fast it happen to me
He walked back weakened straight away. He wasn't playing, this was real.
That theory that if you weren't expecting an accident it is worse goes against everything I've always heard. Whenever a drunk driver crashes into someone at high speed they get off Scot free and the other person either die or end up with serious injury. You can only assume it's because the drunk driver is much more supple and they absorb the impact better
Houdini died from an unexpected punch to the gut.
Weasel did a good breakdown.... The weight cut and not having water to protect the brain could have led to the concussion symptoms.
"when I push people they don't show up"
- Jeremy Stephens
Stolen comment bum lol
Klose came a little to close to Jeremy face to the point there faces touched. I think that's why he pushed him.
100 percent
Still assault.
Thank god his days at the UFC are counted
@boner soup look at the clip again a couple times , yes Jeremy is walking up to do a face off but klose is the one who actually moved into Jeremy face before Jeremy placed himself into his face off spot.
He put his belly against Stephens'... had to get pushed... sort of on Drakkar for being intense while not actually being intense. It's a stare down! Show respect or be prepared.. being said , the way he's handled it with social media is PERFECT. Klose saying rebook it would make a great story for him, which is what the UFC needs. Spinning this as a rematch only makes a story of a fight it's awesome lol
Jeremy: What part of "protect yourself at all time" did you not understand?
Jeremy's lawyer: No one put a gun to your head and forced you to dehydrate yourself.
Fine for Stephens, don't touch people until you are in the licensed fight.
The six inch punch 😂😂😂
.
He means the one inch punch
That was a Superbowl, fourth quarter, one yard line, linebacker push.
I crash cars for fun and can tell you it's the impact that you don't see coming that always, always hurts the most
Right on the money bro
Chael one thing you forgot to mention was dehydration because of the weight cut. The dehydrated body will also have less fluid to protect the brain 🧠.
But how does Kevin Lee fit into this?
Chael: You must always promote the fight.
Also Chael: You don't have to promote the fight.
Imagine if they fought how hurt he’d be
Glad to see some sense among meathead casual fandom sometimes.
I'll be the casual drunk meathead and say, "just bleed!"
My rib!!

Oh I could not take a deep breath during that time 😢😭
The UFC hates this incident because they love the pushing for its promotional drama. It gives the potential audience a first taste of the physical fight, the more "bad blood" the better, as long as nothing serious happens and the fight doesn't need to get canceled. Now, they have to "disallow" the pushing and actively do something to prevent it.
Nothing was said, he was just too close for Jeremy. **facepalm**
I don’t blame jeremey , dude has his corona mask in jeremys mouth lolll
When He Shoves People They Dont Fucking Move

Let me share a murder situation I personally know of. A coworker I had went to England on holidays, he had a fight with someone in a bar and the other guy hit his head on the floor and died. He spent 8 years in prison in England because of that. Not having intent will not save you in a court of law.
No one got murdered in the situation talked about in the video bud
@@jondough3339 Yeah I know your dumbass can't make the connection. The example I gave is to demonstrate that if you cause physical injury to an individual it doesn't matter what your intention was, you will be held liable.
Saved Hillary Clinton🤷♀️ Comey said they couldn't prove she intended to use the private server illegally. 🙄
That happened to my friend in Glasgow a few years ago...
Face off seems like a 'protect yourself at all times' situation. I get what Chael says but you better be ready from the get.
Then they should stop doing face-offs right?
@@richardyocum353 no the fighters should just be ready for anything. Protect yourself at all times is good for anyone. Getting in a fighters face is the last place to let your guard down.
@@moto-fl3rd its a professional mma organisation not a black market street fight 😐
@@aziq9732 agreed, that shove cost them both the paycheck and fighting is how they make a living. A pro fighter shouldn't be that insecure that they need to put hands on someone outside of the cage. I'd guess stephens was just trying to sell the fight but it cost him $ and drakkar's health.... Still be reasonably ready at all times, that goes for every human on the planet.
He pushed hard as he could for no valid reason, he doesn’t deserve a pay check for that one
Maybe it’s not “valid” but I can see why someone would be angry when you put your nose on mine
@@gumball5024 It's a face off and Stephens wasn't exactly the calmest and most respectful guy in the room lmao
The reaction is nothing short of unnecessary and a disgrace for a UFC veteran like himself. He just fucked up his own paycheck and wasted months of his life, while his UFC career is already taking a dive.
Their next fight will be interesting. I’m going for Klose 😊👌🏴
Chael pauses are more suspenseful than Game of Thrones battle of the bastards
battle of deez nutz
Jeremy have reacted the way he did but also fighters shouldn't be allowed to be that close when doing a face off either going forward they should implement a 3ft rule or something
If you look closely to the footage it looks like he had his eyes closed and that’s what pissed off Jeremy and by him having his eyes closed he wasn’t able to prepare for the push
Why would having his eyes closed piss Jeremy off?
@@harveyweinstein349 he was trying to kiss him
I like Chael, he's an intelligent dude.
I think there should be a fine if u put your hands on your opponent before the match
That push was so hard that Sterling has taken another year off from defending the belt
lmao
Thats strange because ive always heard that not tensing your body is the way to avoid serious injuries
And me
Considering the damage that was inflicted upon Klose.
cervical neck sprain (whiplash) and brain concussion, which in turn caused Klose to have the following symptoms:
woke up disoriented and throwing up on fight day.
CTE begins by one person running into another person at full speed, and making contact with a part of the head, which then, spring boards into CTE
And depending on the current length of Klose's career, taking punches, high kicks, elbows, forearms to the head, face during ground & pound in european organizations, long term will cause CTE to be expedited.
Also, those actions take place during training pre - fight, that a fighter signs off on.
This incident could literally set a legal precedence, if Drakkar Klose has a very experienced lawyer, that is well versed in the area of CTE.
@Morty C-137 Everything in that post was valid.
Stephens needs to learn to keep his hands to himself.
He's lucky he's not finishing this in court.
At the very least Klose should recover his show and win money from Jeremy.
Me and a friend were watching the face offs and when Jeremy pushed him I said " That looked ugly. Watch that injure Klose and the fight get called.".
It’s called a face off tho sooooo....
No matter how you look at it that was a strike.
@Chael Sonnen
I formally apologize for my 2nd cousin he is a very respectful and good person but is very short-tempered and doesn't always realize his own strength and didnt expect any severe physical damage to be inflected on Drakkar, of course im not speaking for him but as I am very close with him I would expect he had no bad intentions. Obviouslly this dose'nt exuse his actions. (I feel so formall meanwhile hes like 20 years older than me...)
UFC needs to make an example out of Stephens, others will think they can get away with that behavior
I can't let you get close
-Jeremy Stephens
Ie. Uncle Chael
anyone who's ever been in car accident understand this. This is no different. Nerves in spine/ neck, slish-sloshing of CSF, bruising of brain, muscular and skeletal issues -- all of it. Unacceptable.
The two oddest strikes in UFC history: The Jeremy Stephens push and the Conor shoulder strike.
The Kamaru foot stomp
@@squadabingo7290Not really. We've seen those before enough times. But close.
Elvis Williams For sure I agree. However nobody’s really utilize those as of late and he basically beat Masvidal with foot stomps
Meanwhile, drunk people avoid injuries during car crashes, because they don’t tense up and remain loose when in an accident.
Where did hear that nonsense
