Derek as Bond... Bruno as his nemesis... how perfect was that casting ?!! Loved it.
I can't believe none of the performances were danced to Adele's Skyfall. i think that would have been a good song to dance a rumba too. But for some reason, they used a lot of obscure Bond songs, you'd think they wouldn't have excluded an Oscar winning song like that.
it most likely has to do with copyright issues
The more famous it is, the more expensive it is to use.

@@seofra8252 I don't know if I agree. The most recent Oscar Winning bond song by Billie Eilish "No Time to Die" was there front and center, think it was the first performance.
I always thought the point of DWTS using the artists songs was to inject popularity back into some of the older ones.

I love this opening number and am really enjoying season 31! I'm so glad Conrad Green is back as Executive Producer! Its great we got Mark, Louis and Peta back this year! My one wish is for Anna Trebunskaya to be called back next year! Please DWTS! We all miss her! 😢 🙏🏻

@@portmoregirl ah right, I do adore witney as a pro! I mentioned peta mark and louis specifically as they weren't here last year so I'm glad that the producers called them back!
But I do love witney! I'm glad she got to be the star of the opening for the premiere and she has a greatceleb this year!!
So for the pro lineup most of them are back from season 30
The only changes are sharna lindsay and jenna are absent (sharna is spending time with her newborn and jenna and lindsay are both expecting!)
So the only differences are mark louis and peta are back and koko is added as anew pro

Gosh, Louie coming back is what literally made me want to watch the show on Disney+. Seeing him dance next to the newer pros you truly notice the difference in technique as compared to the newer pros who don’t the traditional ballroom background. I miss the TRUE ballroom aspect of the show and watching Louie dance in these numbers really brings it back for me. True ballroom dance and technique 🙏🏻

This was by far the best opening number I have seen in all the years that I have been watching this show! The choreography was beautiful, the music was perfect, it was just perfect all the way around!
The name's Hough, Derek Hough. I wish he's still a pro. He's a good judge but it's just a waste of his talent and his creativity. At least Mark is back.
Agreed but he's my absolute favorite judge. I love his excitement and feedback.

Very disappointed that Dancing With the Stars is not on ABC this season. It was my favorite show and have watched it faithfully since season 1. Need to find a new favorite since I don't intend to pay for a streaming network just for one show. Cable is already way too pricey !! Call me old school but this streaming nonsense is for the birds!!!

Maybe the next Bond movie, they need to cast Bruno as a villian.
I really have to respect that Derek had to get into an inverted position on that rope, above the ballroom floor, and patiently wait for the music cue to finally be able to flip & be lowered down!
Clearly he would've waited until the last minute possible to get into position, but that still had to be an uncomfortable few seconds. The pressure is really on with live tv too.... I love this whole opening number; Live and Let Die lends itself so well to an ensemble dance! But yeah that kind of stunt still deserves mention! I certainly don't have that core muscle 😅

good number. I can see dwts is really trying this season the only thing I could compare to the SCD opening numbers is that in the british version they include more ballroom in all pro numbers.

Loved Live and Let Die !! And wow, Peta was right up front and at the end being the Sexy Bond Girl 😍 I was able to pick out a few of the other Pros but the lighting or camera shots made them tough to pick out. (But was able to definitely pick out each judge and the two co-hosts!). Great number but don't obscure most of the pros and troupe members, please.

honestly I'm liking the move. just the fact that there's no commercials is a big improvement. I'm still not a fan of Tyra as host, but at least having Alfonso there is helping a lot.
@@Sweeney541 I love the move as well since I can now see it live in my time zone whereas when it was on ABC only East and Central got to see it live. Now, all time zones can watch it live since it's on Disney+.

DISNEY Plus is too expensive to literally only have 1 show I would watch . I had it free with Verizon fir a few months and never found anything, I ended up canceling and deleting before my time was up.

It's sad that I (like many, many others in my similar financial situation) 'must' come to TH-cam to catch 'anything...something' from one of my all-time favorite shows: DWTS. And what about those who can't afford getting Internet service period, let alone buying a computer? I was looking forward to the new season on ABC, that is, until it was announced that DWTS was moving to Disney+, a channel I cannot afford to get because it's not in my very limited budget (and because the local cable service I pay for is already 'through-the-roof" expensive for me). This was an 'unfair' move, ABC and DWTS, as so many of us just can't afford it. Please bring this show back "to everyone", ABC, and not just to a 'selective' audience at Disney+. 👎 Oh, and from what 'I am allowed and can barely afford to see' here on TH-cam, Derek is absolutely awesome...a 'true artist' on the dance floor, as always! 🤩
Great opening! Too bad It is only on DisneyPlus (which I don't have) and Tom is gone. It will never be the same! This used to be my favorite show. What a waste!
So they got the idea from BTS Grammy 2022 performance for which they used them for ratings and not give them the award. It was the best performance of the Grammy night.

@@marisaa.tamayo Yes, as the original British version Strictly Come Dancing is made by the BBC, who has no commercial breaks at all (lucky Brits) as the BBC is funded by a license fee, so maybe ABC felt the original British version has a better flow, with no commercials?

Látszik a háttér hatalom magas színvonala. Minden nagyon színes, ami a gender jelképe. A legtöbb ember csak a felszínt nézi és nem lát a színfalak mögé. Ott ugyanis elég nagy a rothadás.
I find it interesting that both themed nights so far have been centred around white men. Can we get some other themes or at least mix it up with the artists.

She left after this season. It's Alfonso and Julianna now
