Especially being in the same episode where we find out a perfectly practical reason for preventing a (potentially bloody) fight between Avengers and Skrulls specifically after Avenger blood. I guess practicality doesn't sound as tough?
And that right there is a major problem with marvel, the inability to tell personal stories because it always has to be a world ending event... what have any of these heroes done for their communities or even cities?
Yes it was personal. And Honestly I’m not defending Nick on that issue, But even so, he is Right! Nick Fury was right in saying that calling the Avengers would be a mistake due to the Fact the Skrolls he trained have the advantage in espionage tactics and being able to Shapeshift into anyone! He said this to Skroll Rhody during their chat. But I do agree that the Rest of the show is Crap.
when they started bringing on directors and writers who have never seen/studied any previous MCU title, and are proud of that fact, the MCU was doomed.
@@MisterSandmanAUIn my opinion, it's not just corporate mandates anymore. It's in the culture of whole companies now. From top to bottom. Wokeness, attacking fans/customers, feelings of entitlement, subversion of expectations, not caring for profit etc. A good portion of employees believe in those things, many in executive positions.
@rockprime1136 if you believe wokeness is the issue here, you are the one buying into manipulative buzzwords meant to distract from the real shortcomings of the media coming out, would any of the recent bombs have better quality if the cast was switched to be less diverse? No, because they have shit writing, because they look down on the intelect of the viewers, and each time i see someone blaming "wokeness" it becomes clearer to me why studios believe audiences are too dumb to know better
Not just them. Kingsley Ben-Adir is a very good rising actor. Ben Mendelsohn is underrated. Don Cheadle is a bona fide great actor and Olivia Colman is one of the best actors of our generation. They all did what they could, but the writing and direction of this pile of trash was unimaginably bad.
Sam Jack making out with a green space alien and being portrayed as a useless man dragged through the mud was exactly what he deserves as a male actor for modern Disney.
Not to mention a great storyline. The Secret Invasion series is so dark, perfect for an amazing paranoia filled spy thriller. And they ruined one of the best supervillains, the Superskrull. I cannot understand the disdain for the source material when the ideas that replace it are so crappy. 😢
Rhodey being a skrull also murders Stark's character. Remember Tony helped Rhodey through the whole rehab process, even creating the cybernetics for Rhodey. But apparently no one noticed Rhodey was actually an alien. How would that operation go? Random doctor: "Uhm Mr. Stark? The patient isn't human?" Stark: "what do you mean?" Doctor: "The patient is a different species, an alien, and it looks like it can shapeshift and already walk" Stark: "give him the cybernetics anyway I'm sure its fine" For fuck sake
Rhodey was never able to walk again. He needed braces on his legs that Toney built I think. In the scene in secret invasion he doesn’t have the braces, I assume the skrulls took them to play the part better. Not trying to insult you I just thought about it and came to the comments to see if anyone had the same thought as me.
This show expects you to ignore the fact that Nick Fury could have asked: Tony and Bruce to make a probe to find a planet, Thor to let the Skrulls live on Asgard or New Asgard or use the Rainbow Bridge to find a new home in one of the different realms, Dr. Strange to find a dimension, Scott Lang to find a home in the Quantum Realm, or the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Nova Corp to find a planet. And, of course, Carol Danvers was also supposed to be finding a planet anyway. Multiple movies have gone by where Nick could have said something about the Skrulls! Why would he never tell them about these aliens when they work with aliens all the time?
Or the fact that Skrull Rhodey had already been to The Garden where Thanos lived and knew how to get there. All he had to do was ask Nick Fury for ships to transport their people there. Nick could have easily called the Guardians and had them bring some Ravager freight ships.
My biggest problem is that at the end of Captain Marvel, she was tasked with finding the Skrulls a planet and even had a space station. Somehow, she was forgotten about.
@@XavierZazi Yeah, it's crazy that they initially said that she wasn't helping out on Earth because she was helping other alien races. I kinda assumed she was helping the Skrulls but I guess she wasn't even doing that.

It's weird how "hero turns old and out of touch and needs to get back in the saddle" has become a trend. Some of my favorite stories like Unforgiven, Logan, Rocky Balboa, Creed and even Metal Gear Solid and Batman Beyond use it. It's such a great premise for exploring a character, but so many modern writers do such a crap job at it.
yup cause in this case its a cheap way to write them out a story and use the story to instead retire them for new better women version, of course fury is in marvels so that couldn't happen (yet) but lets be real, the M.O. is clear in every time its used badly, miracle Logan was as put together as it was
Maria Hill would’ve worked great as the POV character of this show. She’s clearly been groomed as Fury’s successor, BY FURY! That would’ve allowed him to keep his mysterious status. And set up a “is this Fury or a Skrull?” tension.
The one time Marvel had actually developed a good female character to take over for a male, and had the perfect opportunity to execute it too.. But clearly Jackson is too important and cool to be replaced. Granted, they likely would have still found a way to mess it up, but you're right!
@@chromasus9983 I don’t think he needed to be replaced. Hill would just be the POV so Fury can maintain his mystery. Like in True Grit or Dredd. It’d be a two-hander but we see the other character most from the perspective of the other.
And they could add some comedic things too, have several skrulls pose as Fury and when they meet, it's unclear who is the higher ranking one, and even have the real Fury listen in on that (he's a spymaster after all) to make things more complicated and do some xanathos speed chess and poker at the same time. But that's probably too expensive.

The MCU has taken the audience for granted. It’s like when a relationship first starts and both sides are on their best behavior. Then, they get comfortable and complacent and stop trying.
They are taking a self-destructing path trying to live off the fame they once had while putting out works at best mediocre. They stopped seeing audience as something they have to keep attracting and instead take for granted the money.
Marvel already had a plan laid out for all the way to Endgame when Disney bought them. People forget that the MCU was already well underway before Disney got involved. That’s why phases 1-3 were so good. It started going bad as Disney started imposing their own ideas more. What we have now is all Disney.
The most egregious crime this series has committed against its legacy characters (apart from Rhodes, of course) is when then literally have Talos VOMIT to the audience that he and the rest of the skrulls were the ones responsible for Fury's rise in the ranks of SHIELD. Honestly, if this is the level of writing we have to expect from future projects, I find it hard that Marvel will survive another 5 years.
stopped watching marvel films after endgame. stopped watching shows after Moon Knight. Anyone gullible enough to maintain a D+ subscription and see a marvel film these days only have themselves to blame for the continued mediocrity, just wait for reviews to come out first.
@zacharyjackson1829 gaurdians of the galaxy 3 was good. End game was definitely the end of the MCU main story. They should have just started over in another dimension and start out a new story from scratch. The fact that the earth in the MCU has so much going on in it is kind of ridiculous.
Who in the HELL thought that having Rhodey as a Skrull from Civil War’s ending onwards was a good idea? That is impressive that the writers think fans are fine with this guy not knowing that f***ing Tony Stark, his friend died.
What i don't understand here is why isn't there some people at the MCU whose job is to make sure the story is consistent with the history of everything? Don't they know their fans?
Didn't Peter Jackson hire on people like that when making LOTR? No surprise all 6 of those movies were amazing (yes even the Hobbit trilogy). Speaking of, I bet people nowadays aren't so quick to shit on the Hobbit trilogy anymore. Because yes it made some big changes but it didn't take a crap on the lore or insult the fans. Unlike most Hollywood movies made now that already have an established franchise.
@@GabesEdtiz Similarly the Star Wars prequel trilogy is a masterpiece compared to Disney's sequel trilogy. Except the prequel trilogy is still bad, whereas I really do enjoy the Hobbit trilogy as much as if not more than the LOTR trilogy. Bilbo's initial encounter with Smaug is by far my favorite scene in all 6 movies. And I don't even like the Hobbit book, it has too many character inconsistencies and annoyances which thankfully Jackson fixed. Like in the book the dwarves when encountering the then unknown threat of the trolls go in one at a fucking time as the trolls catch each one in a sack. It wasn't until the last dwarf, Thorin, that he gets suspicious something in strange, but he gets caught anyway. The movie does it so much better and makes the combat-hardened dwarves not look like they have the tactics of an infant. And other things like in the book EVERYONE is insufferably nice to each other and it gets on my nerves. But the things that worked like Bilbo's encounter with Gollum and Smaug are taken almost straight from the book. They truly are underrated films and get too much hate.
The part that gutted the show for me was the revelation that Fury was carried by skrulls almost from the beginning of his days with shield. The show doesn't JUST verbally abuse Fury, they belittle almost all of his accomplishments.... so that the verbal abuse is partially justified................ not to mention every time Fury is verbally abused he basically has no come back. Where other MCU shows/films take the piss out of legacy characters by just having them act pathetic/dumb, THIS show has to thoroughly assassinate their entire role in the MCU. He's basically become a motivational speaker of sorts. At this point I'm wondering what he's going to be like in The Marvels, and while phase 4/5 have revealed to audiences that the showrunners don't even watch previous shows to check much continuity at all; this time I'm hoping this is the case.
@Darkstar_Dayne Not just War Machine; Cuz if we're to believe the Timeline now made by this show, *_SKRULL WAR MACHINE._* Skrull Rhodey knew about Planet Thanos and she probably knew about Nowhere _(The Guardians)_ *AND MOST LIKELY **_New Asgard too._* So we're supposed to believe Skrull Rhodey just had Intel on *_AT LEAST THREE_* possible places for them to live, and she just never mentioned it to Fury, Sofia, *_OR GRAVIK._* It's like every new MCU Showrunner wants to be the one to completely ruin the lore beyond repair.
Too bad they all forgot about Maximov. She could have solved the issues of this show by mind controling the world into thinking Skrulls were always there. Or that they couldnt be seen. She could run them to any number of alternate Earths , or if shes really the most powerful....make a perfect planet for them. Guardians pooped the bed by not looking for a planet, ferrying Skrulls to Thanos planet, or even Knowwhere. Danvers pooping the bed as well for all the exact same reasons. I think secret invasion should have been a whole arc. Movies/shows that build up to it, through heroes acting slightly different or things happening due to Skrulls infiltration of the government, and newer heroes needing to clean up the mess. A bigger name movie towards the end of the arc having a cliffhanger that ends with one of the heroes "dying," but it turns out to be a skrull, and everyone is confused as hell. There are times where I genuinely wonder if the people in Hollywood forget that theirs is a paid service. I don't see how else they can justify some of their behavior, or spending habits.
If you read Secret Invasion it is a well-written and compelling story with huge implications in the Marvel universe. Feige actually told the director and writers not to read this and just kind of wing it. Let that sink in. Feige told them to just cobble together something and gave them a dump truck full of money. To me by far the most insane thing about this show is that they imply, fury had secret scroll spies everywhere since "Captain Marvel". This means that a bunch of skillful spy shapeshifters loyal to fury were completely unable to find out about hydra inside of shield. Like did no one even think about this. Or are we supposed to assume that all these shapeshifting spies, which according to their own dialogues killed for fury, meaning they're also skilled, were completely oblivious to the hydra threat. Like the fact that such a big organisation could stay quiet under the eyes of Nick Fury was already a bit of stretch, but at least it was still believable as even with his incredible skill and intellect, Fury was still just one man, but with this secret scroll organisation under his belt it becomes completely unbelievable. Man I hate it when shows manage to damage prior shows and movies. Another stupid thing is, that at least from what I understand, the power of captain marvel was given to her by the blast of the teseract, and is not a part of her DNA (because otherwise we could be sure that the krill would have extracted it immediately), so why the hell are they able to get her powers through her DNA? It feels like they just did, what they thought would look cool witbout any thoughts as to whether it makes sense...
Or are we supposed to believe that the skrulls sided with Hydra and didn't tell fury about anything until it was advantageous to side with him again. This portrays the Skrulls as either universally idiotic, treacherous, oblivious, or all three
At this point I'm starting to think they are ruining everything on purpose! It's like they hate superheroes and are willing to spend hundreds of millions of dollars just to piss fans off.. No company in the world would by mistake keep people in charge that keep making movies or tv shows that only makes them lose huge amounts of money.. It's insane!
More like a lot of corporate politics is at play. Not piss off this, not piss off that. Need to highlight this, need to market that. Also the ego of the people involved of wanting their own take to the story as if it is any better.
Sounds a lot like Biden’s administration. Fucking up everythjng on purpose but calling it the best presidential campaign in history. It’s delusional. The MCU has become a reflection of this generation and culture. No accountability or morality. It’s all about money and attention at this point
I swear Disney is a species of mould at this point. It's this slow rot that sucks the colour and energy out of anything that gets exposed to it for too long.
It kinda wasn’t though. It suffered from the same issues as the rest of the never-ending CW soap operas like Flash and Green Arrow - too diluted, too bland, too cheap and too background-y. They did their best with the budget they had and they covered a lot of ground lore-wise, but it was still a pretty subpar show to be honest
I really don't understand why Marvel got it so wrong. In general, Disney have the best data on what works at a universal level and give little winks to the niche fan bases. I am very surprised. Also, this show does not look like a 200 million production, where did all the money go? I hope this is rock bottom and the next productions start getting better. I hope this is blipped and we never talk about it again. Thank you for the video!
cause not about quality but the message, hence the show every 5 min insulting fury, pushing the other non important women character who's half of the plot isn't really important in hindsight at all, or why fury isn't the main one to stop it but the other girl, push out male lead to make new female ones, looking to the MCU leads right now its painful how it looks now to a decade ago
Also, Rhodie has been a skrull since after Endgame. Firstly, his blood was red in the final Endgame fight, so that's that. But also, it would make sense that he was taken to the hospital after that fight and was then compromised by the skrulls there after.
Why wouldn’t they go with your plot line? It could have just fit the story. Not to mention that Skrull Rhodes was ON the planet that they killed Thanos on, completely destroying the logic of why this invasion is even happening.
likely case the fight where they turned a Amelia Clarks arm into Drak's arm all those effects of different superheroes were probably some reused asset to save on money
That was a really cringe worthy line spoken by Olivia Coleman too. Talking about men being murderers, "That's what all of the podcasts are about." Just like She-Hulk, they show how insecure they are about their own writing. They have to reference critique in the show itself, trying to brush it off with name-calling and showing a complete lack of self-awareness. Bit of a shit stain on her career.
Oh no Olivia Coleman has been in MUCH worse things before she blew up, look up Confetti (2006). It was a mockumentary movie which had to be mostly improvised by the actors because of a practically non-existent script. Worst part of all for Coleman is that she played a naturist and was completely nude for almost all her scenes and was told it would be pixilated, only to find out it wasn't when she attended the premiere. Funnily enough Martin Freeman was also in it, so yeah compared to that SI really isn't that bad, even being in a Marvel flop is good for your resume.
Maria Hill was in a few episodes of Agents of Shield. She was not a field agent. She is the "Guy in chair" roll. When they killed her off I knew this was going to be wrong.
Yeah, but just think of all the time the writers saved by not having to write anything for her after episode 1. They had more important things to be doing... like going on strike... and just think of all the free time that created. Season 2 is going to be amazing!
Phase 4 should’ve been all about the Skrulls. I don’t think there’s any way to save the MCU at this point, because they’ve wasted so many potential stories. I guess they could just decanonize all of Phase 4 with the exception of No Way Home and start over.

It is now permanently embedded in pop culture, because they did something really cool, and it appeased fans, and elevated the profile of the movie far beyond what they could have imagined. The whole situation is really insane from a business standpoint. If it was my 200 million dollars, I would need to see some receipts/timesheets.

It was evident they didn't know the stories. They already tried to flip the script on the Kree/Skrull war to make the Skrulls just hopeless refugees treated as undesirables and make the Kree the aggressors. Ironically, they showed in this series the extreme danger in taking in refugees and why any country with half a brain should never do it.

For those who have lost track, Disney is now at 6 to 10 instances of disrespecting a legacy male character by having them be upstaged/replaced by a young female character: 1. Rey replacting Luke in the Star Wars sequel triology 2. Kit Tanthalos upstaging Willow in Willow 3. Kate Bishop upstaging Hawkeye in Hawkeye 4. Helena Shaw upstaging Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones 5 5. Cruz Ramirez upstaging Lightning Mcqueen in Cars 3 6. Giah upstaging Nick Fury in Secret Wars And there are 4 more instances that are a bit more disputable on if they should be counted or not 7. Nehanda replacing T'Challa in Wakanda Forever 8. Riri Williams replacing Tony Start in Wakanda Forever 9. Bo-Katan upstaging Mando in Mandalorian 10. Wendy upstaging Peter Pan in the Peter Pan live action remake.
Don’t you have a crusty sock to be depleting into. Sound like a dime a dozen incel. The original black panther died. Most of these characters took over the mantle in the comics. And riri isn’t even iron man she’s iron heart. Did you complain when pepper suited up? Or rhodey? Pepper upstaged Tony in iron man 3. Find actual shit to critique not just “when woman exist bad.”
@@RustyBrickStudios I personally wouldn't count that. That's a male character being defeated by a female character, while all the examples I listed has the characters on the same side with the female character outperforming or replacing the male one. Furthermore, while Mr. Fantastic is older is the context of media as a whole, this was his first appearance in the MCU specifically. So within the context of the movie, Scarlet Witch is actually the legacy character while Mr. Fantastic is the new character.
The "Thanos planet" is actually Saturn's Moon Titan, if we're following the comics. And that makes it even more stupid, because Titan is very easy to reach, at least with the technology that they have in the MCU
No the Thanos planet their talking about is the planet they killed him on, not Titan… Since they mention Rhodey and Danvers being there. They weren’t on Titan. Besides, Titan looks unlivable with the gravity anomalies…
So many things wrong with your comment: 1. MCU's Titan is not Saturn's Titan, it's an independent planet in a different solar system. 2. Movie Cynic is talking about the unnamed planet Thanos goes to be a farmer in. That's not Titan.
The deconstruction worked in Logan, because they did it with respect. Even though it deconstructs him nothing he does in the movie feels like something he wouldn’t do. Also Logan is legit slowly freaking dying that whole movie it’s not a mystery why he isn’t at his best the whole movie. Thirdly he is broken because of stuff happened to him that he couldn’t control, mutants stopped being born because humanity slowly phased them out through subtle ways no one knew about. Also Charles was the reason the X-Men were gone not Logan. Logan did everything he could to help and protect Charles because he cared about him, even letting Charles think that he (Logan) was the reason the X-Men were gone. Logan is just such a brilliant movie man, one of the best.
Maybe this is the same situation in she-hulk where the writers admit they don't know how to write a legal procedural. They don't know how to write a spy thriller. Says the kind of quality the next generation of writers have.
What sucks about secret invasion is that it's trying to convince viewers that skrulls have wanted to take over the planet for years in six episodes or so. Secret invasion could easily be an entire MCU phase. At least in my opinion, but it doesn't do that.
the biggest thing ive realized and come to accept is that the mcu is not for marvel fans...it probably never was tbh...the more popular the mcu got, the more it catered to non marvel fans for the purpose of making money and being a franchise..i guess thats how business works but now they've lost the main core fans (marvel fans) that kept it going so they could cater to modern audiences and now they blame us instead of the poor writing they continue to give. They dont care about the source material... They get away with it because non marvel fans will eat it up because they dont care about the comics so its just another big flick for them but for actual fans, its a heartbreak every time plus the tired movie formula of cgi, big boss fight, and cheesy comedy

She too shared my dislike and wanted to riot…long story short they failed everyone…everyone of us fans on every level.
Disney Plus began the "Legends" tradition in 2021 where, to coincide with an upcoming MCU project, a clip-show of the main character's story so far would be an episode. Naturally, we got an episode for Nick Fury. We saw him first appear and tell Tony Stark that he wasn't the only superhero. Then we saw him bossing about Thor and the Hulk. We also saw him help Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff and Sam Wilson expose Hydra. Along came Secret Invasion and Fury was suddenly a pathetic crybaby.
This version of Nick Fury was originally based on The Ultimate Universe version of the character who was a complete badass and a super soldier, wth happened??
Fucking "Peacemaker" was a better secret invasion show than "Secret Invasion"! Congrats, Marvel! You got outdone by a show whose main character is played by a guy we can't see!!!
Y’know, there was a whole other Secret Invasion concept done well in Doctor Who with “The Zygon Invasion.” It admittedly didn’t go into the mystery of who was a Zygon and who wasn’t, but explored a group of rebels wanting to start a war and dragging other Zygons into it, even those who were perfectly fine with being humans. I’m not saying they did it better, since I admittedly haven’t watched Secret Invasion, but I’m more so saying that other pieces of media have done this well and, from what I’m hearing, it’s weird how the MCU fumbles this, yet they have so many other sources they could look to in order to make it better.
That is the biggest issue I have too. MCU always want to talk about how they need more female empowerment and yadi yadi ya but the characters that would've been great candidates for shows or be brought back to have there own movies in phases 1 and 2 especially! Were absolutely wasted. Like, here is a great example. Where is Dr. Cho from Avengers 2? Having Mariah go out the way she did actually made me quit the show.
To anyone still enjoying Disney/Marvel, " Are you out of your Reptilian Ass Mind?!". My family and I stopped watching Disney/Marvel a long time ago. All of their products are the same, no matter what it is.
While I agree with 99% of what you've said in this video, the "infinity stones are paperweights in the TVA" reveal in Loki is not shock value writing or disregard for the past. To me, it was an indication that the stakes of the next phase of the MCU are FAR higher and scarier. "You know the stones that our characters fought for to death? The TVA and Kang are so advanced that the stones do not matter in the slightest," which I believe has great potential for storylines as we wonder what's bigger and badder than the Infinity Saga. Now, that they butchered this premise and made Kang a lowly villain in Quantumania or have zero direction/tie-ins of that reveal in this phase is another matter, but for when Loki came out, it made me nervously excited, and hollow about the sacrifices our Golden Age MCU heroes had made, which is a good place to leave your viewer as you carve out a villain better than Thanos.
The MCU use to be coherent and sensical with characters developed so we care about them, not instant super genius young girls whose only barrier is what others tell them. Black Widow was awesome, Wanda was awesome until they did her dirty with the new Dr. Strange. Suri was cool too, until she just blended in to every other young girl who is so AMAZING and smart and didn't earn it. I can't believe they haven't done Moon Girl yet, who I like as a comic book character, but I am scared the MCU will ruin it. The MCU also use to make sense. That's really sad how they let that ship sink.
"No one defends this show" I can confirm this. I have some officemates who are hardcore (Disney) Marvel stans and I told them: "Hey guys wasn't that scene where Fury-kun kissed Skrull-chan cool?" They said nothing. Then I joked around how Spy X Family was a better spy thriller and they strangely agreed and would rather watch Loid kissing Yor instead of you know... Fury-kun and Skrull-chan lol.
I liked the part where Fury said he couldn't call in any Avengers, because a humanity extinction level threat was "personal"
Especially being in the same episode where we find out a perfectly practical reason for preventing a (potentially bloody) fight between Avengers and Skrulls specifically after Avenger blood. I guess practicality doesn't sound as tough?
So ridiculous it’s beyond belief 😂
And then he made out with a green alien.

Stark: "what do you mean?"

Rhodey was never able to walk again. He needed braces on his legs that Toney built I think. @@Omgxgmit would work if they kidnapped rhodey after civil war… that makes sense.
Of course Rhodey was a shape shifter. He changed from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle and no one noticed.
Carol Danvers was at the intergalactic hair dresser beauty center figuring out a new hairstyle for herself.
Or the fact that Skrull Rhodey had already been to The Garden where Thanos lived and knew how to get there. All he had to do was ask Nick Fury for ships to transport their people there. Nick could have easily called the Guardians and had them bring some Ravager freight ships.

SAVING MONEY when the budget was 212 millon dollars...you can film 4 season of agents of shield ,,and the gosht ryder effects were 100 timesbetter
Most certainly cheap tricks.
Typical feminists fighting against imaginary friends
Olivia Coleman sucks
Season 2 is going to be amazing!
did all the sword agents get laid off after wandavision?
Secret Invasion could’ve been the next Avengers big two part movie event, but once again they dropped the ball on the one.
Phase 4 should’ve been all about the Skrulls. I don’t think there’s any way to save the MCU at this point, because they’ve wasted so many potential stories. I guess they could just decanonize all of Phase 4 with the exception of No Way Home and start over.
I agree this could of been a mini phase to continue to Kang
@@mikeedwards9984kang shouldn't even be touched as a character until near the end of phase 4, this would've set up phase 5 nicely....but they didn't cuz the writers are morons
No Way Home was even worse
@@Qaosbringer No it wasn’t. It wasn’t a perfect film by any means, but it didn’t cause such huge problems for the overall continuity.
@@Qaosbringer did you mean far from home?
they completely forgot the "secret" in "Secret Invasion" and that will never not make me laugh
Actually Rhodey was already hinted to be a shape shifter since Ironman 2, glad to see it finally paid off
I see what you did there...
Hahaha! Yeah, because they swapped Terrance Howard with Don Cheadle.
The Snakes on a Plane clip at the end was apt. That line wasn't in the movie, they went back and filmed it, because of movie fans. It is now permanently embedded in pop culture, because they did something really cool, and it appeased fans, and elevated the profile of the movie far beyond what they could have imagined. The whole situation is really insane from a business standpoint. If it was my 200 million dollars, I would need to see some receipts/timesheets.
How tf did they even get Ebony Maw's DNA? One version of him died in the middle of space, and another turned to dust. Where and when would they have gotten his DNA?
Dont ask questions just consume product and be excited for next product lmao
I assume blood from the small wound Wong and strange gave him redirecting the little stone missiles, but it's still dumb af
@@TimSedai I feel like the likelihood that someone was able to find that random piece of debris is so low. Even more so someone who has anything to do with DNA cloning.
@@crazycanadian5592 how they'd get a viable DNA sample out of literally anyone they didn't have confined to a lab is super 'action movie logic'. Especially non-human DNA, because what would you even know is genetic material and not contamination from the environment?
it gets dumber and dumber the more you actually think about it
How did they get Ghost's DNA if she was not even near nor involved in the fight in Endgame? Or the Frost Giants?
It's sad to say that Marvel has become part of a system that is comfortable with zero accountability.
The directors said they didnt even read the comics
MCU hasn't cared about the comics since forever, they totally changed the origin of multiple heroes and villains, totally destroying multiple story lines including Civil War, Planet Hulk, Infinity War and Age Of Ultron also Kree-Skrull War
@@Darkstar_Dayne Civil War and Infinity War had good reception but you're right about the others and what sucks is that we're never gonna get a Planet Hulk film because the MCU has made Hulk into a joke
@@mr.punisher5100 Oh Yeah, those movies are terrific but they're very different from the comics. I was really looking forward to seeing Adam Warlock in live action when Infinity War was coming out but they completely left him out and now turned that character into a childish bumbling fool, a character whose power is Cosmic Awareness
@@mr.punisher5100Thor Ragnrok was kinda it
Samuel L. Jackson is way too good to play in BS stories like this. It's sad Hollywood don't deliver many well-written stories these days.
Thought it'd be dark and cool, gritty. And it was so/so for a lil... But it was basically She Hulk with Nick Fury...
I didn't watch this show. It didn't look too good. The biggest issue being that Secret Invasion is a massive crossover story similar to Infinity Gauntlet. It requires a bunch of characters to be involved with a lot of stakes, but all this had was Fury and Rhodes.
The only way I could think of it being worse was if his wife was actually a male skrull who took the form of a woman and they hit us over the head with a trans allegory in addition to an immigration allegory.
It is a trans allegory because they say that Fury couldn't love her as she was, he wanted her to change herself
Implying trans people are literally commiting identity theft doens't seem like a very progressive move...
then again, people did exactly taht to an One Piece character; claiming she was trans becasue she was pretending to be and stealing the name of a deaceased male character
So i acutally wouldn't evne be surprised if they pulled that out.
I wasn't trying to read that deeply into it, but you're right.
@@TheAuthorStudios They already did the whole 'refugees become terrorists' thing in this show, so it's believable that some themes involving trans identity theft also got in there. I didn't watch the show, but since it's set in Russia for part of it... now I'm curious if they accidentally progressived Russia/Putin into some kind of heroic position.
Rhodes is a woman in a man’s skin, I think that speak volumes
As it was said in another Disney movie: “let past die, kill it if you have to”. It seems that for some reason Ryan Johnson is so respected it writing community it adopted this quote as it’s raison d’etre.
Also, can we appreciate for a moment absolute unhingeness that was Secret Invasion directors interview? I think that only one time I’ve seen man so proud of his poop was in South Park episode.
Why does Emilia Clarke need Drax or Bucky DNA when she has the hulk DNA?
Rhodey being a Skrull was done so bad it wasn't even a twist.
Don't forget that Rhodey also knew about the planet Thanos went to after the blip, so that Skrull is either picky or stupid
It was pretty much written like modern comic books. Crap on the past, writers/producers/directors self insert through proxy characters, disregard serving the story to serve other things.
10:00 AND Thanos was surviving off of the fruit that grows there. There is also FOOD on that planet for the shapeshifters too
after secret invasion, i had to go shower myself in Loki, to feel clean again.
I liked the part where gravik said "it's gravin' time" and graviked all over everyone.

Because it is
Peacemaker is super trash. Dont know how people dont see that
Its literally like ever other marvel/dc production. Peacemaker just has a few cuss words to make people think its mature writing but that show is mega garbage

I just rewatched Infinity Wars. And now I realize that Dr. Strange absolutely knows about Rhode and the Skrulls. No way in 14 million futures did War Machine not get hurt.
The scene where gravik was talking down on nick fury was so well acted. Than that all goes to waste as it wasnt the actual nick fury. Imagine what that speech would have done to the real fury. This show missed so many things.
Nick Fury doesn’t ask the Avenger for help because he said it’s “personal” but then gets Giah to fight Gravik at the end
For those who have lost track, Disney is now at 6 to 10 instances of disrespecting a legacy male character by having them be upstaged/replaced by a young female character:
1. Rey replacting Luke in the Star Wars sequel triology
2. Kit Tanthalos upstaging Willow in Willow
3. Kate Bishop upstaging Hawkeye in Hawkeye
4. Helena Shaw upstaging Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones 5
5. Cruz Ramirez upstaging Lightning Mcqueen in Cars 3
6. Giah upstaging Nick Fury in Secret Wars
And there are 4 more instances that are a bit more disputable on if they should be counted or not
7. Nehanda replacing T'Challa in Wakanda Forever
8. Riri Williams replacing Tony Start in Wakanda Forever
9. Bo-Katan upstaging Mando in Mandalorian
Fantastic is the new character.
happened in she hulk too
The MCU machine is like Skynet becoming self aware. It's stubborn, self-important, and a detriment to all of humanity.
The "Thanos planet" is actually Saturn's Moon Titan, if we're following the comics. And that makes it even more stupid, because Titan is very easy to reach, at least with the technology that they have in the MCU
how dare you have understanding of the universe and lore better than them
No the Thanos planet their talking about is the planet they killed him on, not Titan… Since they mention Rhodey and Danvers being there. They weren’t on Titan. Besides, Titan looks unlivable with the gravity anomalies…
So many things wrong with your comment:
1. MCU's Titan is not Saturn's Titan, it's an independent planet in a different solar system.
2. Movie Cynic is talking about the unnamed planet Thanos goes to be a farmer in. That's not Titan.
@@alvaro.martinez okay so they don't make that very clear in the MCU
Marvel coming out the bad product that hasn’t happened since the latest marvel product 0:03
That Skrull Rhodey went with the Avengers to Thanos' garden planet, he's literally been there and didn't tell the other Skrulls about it.
I guess they decided to follow "There are only three Indiana Jones movies" with "There are only three Marvel movie phases"...
And "No Way Home".
the biggest thing ive realized and come to accept is that the mcu is not for marvel fans...it probably never was tbh...the more popular the mcu got, the more it catered to non marvel fans for the purpose of making money and being a franchise..i guess thats how business works but now they've lost the main core fans (marvel fans) that kept it going so they could cater to modern audiences and now they blame us instead of the poor writing they continue to give. They dont care about the source material... They get away with it because non marvel fans will eat it up because they dont care about the comics so its just another big flick for them but for actual fans, its a heartbreak every time plus the tired movie formula of cgi, big boss fight, and cheesy comedy
Doing secret invasion THIS dirty is crazy. I was so hyped [god knows why] and fought through 1 episode and couldnt go back
💯 agreed!! Listen I was hyping this show up for months to my wife gave her a lil bit of background how awesome the comics were…cause I read them as a kid, I even went as far to watch it ahead of her and was super disappointed…so I was like let me see what she’ll say as a individual that barely knows the source material.
Not gonna lie, I keep forgetting this exists until someone reminds me. I feel bad for SLJ and Emilia Clarke.
I ignored this show but after hearing what happened to Nick Fury I said, “Remember No Marvel.”
When 13 percent of the US population is representing 80 percent of the cast, I assume they don't want me to watch...
Fucking "Peacemaker" was a better secret invasion show than "Secret Invasion"! Congrats, Marvel! You got outdone by a show whose main character is played by a guy we can't see!!!
Y’know, there was a whole other Secret Invasion concept done well in Doctor Who with “The Zygon Invasion.”
It admittedly didn’t go into the mystery of who was a Zygon and who wasn’t, but explored a group of rebels wanting to start a war and dragging other Zygons into it, even those who were perfectly fine with being humans.
I’m not saying they did it better, since I admittedly haven’t watched Secret Invasion, but I’m more so saying that other pieces of media have done this well and, from what I’m hearing, it’s weird how the MCU fumbles this, yet they have so many other sources they could look to in order to make it better.
2:31 I searched up my full name and found Marvel’s Taskmaster.
The cool one from the comics, not that god-awful MCU replacement.
The BBEG just turned into Eric Cartman. "My power is I get to have all the powers"
Tessa thompson, emily clark, and sophia turner really have a talent for acting without changing their facial expressions.
You do great work and have amazing takes! Hope you have a great day and thank you for the great content!
Doesn't Gravik trying to start world war three make the Grand Intelligence and Nova Corp from Captain Marvel right?
Rhodie being a Skrull also undermines Nick Fury's "help a brother out" speech.
"What a piece of shit!? "
Basically a summary of entire phase-4.
That video of horse pooping and alien walking by, where can I find it? It's hilarious, especially with the girl with tinfoil hat.
"No one defends this show"
I can confirm this. I have some officemates who are hardcore (Disney) Marvel stans and I told them:
"Hey guys wasn't that scene where Fury-kun kissed Skrull-chan cool?"
They said nothing.
Then I joked around how Spy X Family was a better spy thriller and they strangely agreed and would rather watch Loid kissing Yor instead of you know... Fury-kun and Skrull-chan lol.
I hate you
The one thing I hate about the marvel movies we got/getting is the fact that they aren’t as bloody or dark as the comics
