Idols, in general, can be quite conservative in global interviews because their labels, crazy netizens and other constraints. Its just refreshing because we know she dgaf about anybody's hatin' ass. We love to see it.
It helps that CL went to international school and lived outside Korea so I feel that helps make her comfortable in English interviews
I was going to comment pretty much the same thing. I'm so glad she quit yg, i feel like in these interviews now we get to see more of her personality and attitude that we've never really seen before like you can tell easily she's a lot more comfortable now

Yes I agree! She always had great pronunciation but she couldn't really express herself as fully and easily in English. Obviously she has been around a lot of English speakers in recent years but her English just flows now.

I think its more of western interviews where there's more freedom of expression and openess that she just naturally becomes comfortable. Where as, with korean media she's more cautious with her words just for the fact there's more of a conservative audience

Back when 2NE1 debuted I didn't ever think I'd see CL, solo, on a talkshow like this. It's wild to have been along on this journey watching her grow as an artist. I'm so use to seeing her on South Korean shows. Its just wild. And they are seeing her as she is now but we all know her as this HUGE iconic Kpop Idol. Very cool to see this perspective.
Its so scary in a good way! She's truly been through so much and I feel so lucky we got to watch her make it this far 😩
I have to say, I grew up listening to and looking up to both of these women. Kelly all the way back from American Idol and CL all the way back in her 2NE1 days (around 2011 when I first heard them). And this is something I always wished would happen but never thought would. Two worlds colliding, and two incredible artists, that I love, recognizing each other. It really is sureal to see how far CL has come and I couldn't be happier for her to achieve this success and recognition in the US as a solo artist. ❤🙏🏻 Always wishing her, and the rest of 2NE1 the best!
