    Unlucky Morpheus is primarilly a power metal band, the neoclassical solo is part of the program. Carry On Singing in the Sky for a violin solo.
    For a violin, a flute and a hurdy-gurdy in a metal band, Eluveitie (pronounced Helvetie) and Rebirth or Aidus. 😉😉🤘

    Fuki is singing in a Japanese style called Shigin which usually is reserved for Japanese poetry. Its rare for singers to use this style. She has no formal training in this style or singing. It just came to her naturally. Normally it would be the more popular Enka style heard in old Japanese pop music. Do not confuse that with J-Pop as being the same. They're not. Shigin and Enka sound similar at first to an untrained ear who has never heard of Japanese pop songs but both sound different. Yuko Suzuhana also sings in Shigin. She is the lead vocalist for Wagakki Band, a Japanese folk/fusion metal band that are internationally recognized.

    Great band that deserves more recognition! For a follow-up I recommend "Dignity of Spirit" th-cam.com/video/x7W9DcUKY_U/w-d-xo.html or "Angreifier" th-cam.com/video/gGKWgM4IOgc/w-d-xo.html (note this one has about a minute of crowd interaction at the end). A few years ago the lead singer Fuki also teamed up with the core members of Gacharic Spin to form the Doll$boxx project; there is one full album and an EP and most tracks have videos, as well as some live performances...well worth checking out. The usual jumping-off point is "Take My Chance" which is a lot of fun th-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/w-d-xo.html

    Great reaction. Believe or not, IMO, the most talented musician in this band is the fiddler Jill. Trust me and try these instrumental works of these guys (four of them). It's a project titled Quadratum. Amazing one is Dance of Eternity cover th-cam.com/video/clB3yOKaayE/w-d-xo.html. It's just an insane performance. You said neo classical. They play Far Beyond The Sun cover th-cam.com/video/E2hZDzJp9Pc/w-d-xo.html, and remember that Yngwie Mulmsteen wrote this piece with the inspiration from Paganini's Violin Concerto. It should be played by violin and it is sooooo goooood!! Enjoy!! You won't believe it how phenomenal they are without seeing those performances.

    One of the hardest working bands in the world. 20 full-length albums, 7 EPs, 4 live CD/DVDs to their credit, plus a bunch of singles. Formed in 2008, have been an independent band since their beginnings.
    Also, check out their spin-off band Quadratum. They perform instrumental versions of songs like Van Halen's "Eruption" and Yngwie Malmsteen's "Far Beyond the Sun", featuring the violin as the main instrument.

    Just as an FYI, the "early 2000 metalcore riffs" are late 90's melodeath riffs (which metalcore heavily borrowed from). Japanese metal traditionally is mainly influenced by Power metal, trash, melodic death and neo classical. Bands like Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Angra and Yngwy Malmsteen (and many more) have enjoyed popularity there. Former Megadeath guitarist Marty Friedman even lives there and is somewhat of a celebrity.
    That said, the metalcore scene is very much alive in Japan and they're being very creative with it.

    • @jameswolfblood
      @jameswolfblood  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm aware of those riffs being from 90's melodeath, a genre which I've been into for some 15 years now. However, those early to mid 2000's metalcore acts, were what introduced me to that style of guitar, hence why I refer to it as "early 2000's metalcore riffs', rather than 90's melodeath riffs.

    Oh yeah, UM are insanely talented. Jill, the violinist, is a top virtuoso. They do have some variations in their style, but the heavy stuff is their main gig. Check out "Cadaver/Revadac" if you want even more jaw-dropping stuff. "Unending Sorceress" is also top shelf!

    I advise you to react to their performance その魂に安らぎを 〜 Dignity of Spirit. It's around 10 minutes, a beautiful song. Look at the lyrics as well.
    Every member is a beast. The genius behind all this music is Shiren who does the compositions/arrangements. Fuki mostly writes the lyrics but sometimes Shiren does them too. With everyone's skills combined makes this crazy band. ❤

    Maybe next time you can do some Galneryus; I don't wanna say Angel of Salvation in Live Version (cuz MV is shorter than Studio Version) cuz is triggered all over the place cuz Syu's amazing guitar skills, maybe a better option to not start with those neoclassical shredding guitar would be Let Us Shine, really any Galneryus song is great unless you hate their style.

    First rule about this band is: always aim for live stuff over the studio stuff, really, their live videos are top notch, also sometimes they icnlude some changes like e.g. in Black Pentagram live the neoclassical part of the solo is played on the violin (which used to be really common like 3-4 years ago when one of the guitarists had some issues with his arm and couldn't play live that much).
    Also if you gonna react to more of their songs there are two you definitely should check out - Angreifer and Dignity of Spirit, and if you for whatever reason want to check out some studio stuff anyway try Unending Sorceress (with music video) or Cadaver Revadac (with music sheet to understand what's going on)
