In defense of the zips, they are smooth and silent. The brand they use is OOK, and I wouldn't say they are inferior to YKK. I've been using the Classic Pouch for 2 years now and I grew to like them. I think I it became a bit of a short-sightedness in the modern bag market that it's either YKK or it's cheap. Aquaguard is also unnecessary for a tech pouch, it is rather a gimmicky feature, that makes opening harder for that very unrealistic scenario that you leave your tech kit out in the rain. I thing the main decision opint between the 2 here is the hardshell. The Classic pouch is nicer to use, it stands opened on the desk, and can be used for anything. But if you carry a hard drive or a more sensitive powerbank the Tech pouch is a better option.
Great video, I’m considering buying the bellroy classic pouch as a basic charger bag for travel, and have the peak design tech pouch for when I need to work while travelling
I was literally having an internal debate with myself about which of these I was going to go with. This video came along at the perfect time. Definitely going with the Classic Pouch. Thanks for this video!!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! Definitely a tough choice between the two and so far I’ve been really happy with the classic pouch myself!:)
Traveling Salseros I used to have a Peak Design tech pouch. It was beautiful, made of great materials, and the build quality was incredible. It had such a great hand feel when I touched it. But it was massive. It didn’t fit into any of my bags nicely. And the organizational system was totally overwhelming for me. That pouch made me realize I don’t actually carry that much gear at all. I sold it and haven’t replaced it yet. Since then, I’ve become an open bucket type of guy. I just want to have something for a MacBook charger, a couple cords, and some pens & pencils. Flexibility and playing nice with my EDC and traveling bags are key at this point.
Awesome video!! I was torn between the Classic Pouch and Tech Kit, as they seemed to be advertised as effective for the same usage cases. I'm sure I'll find satisfaction with the Tech Kit! Thank you!!
I got both of those products. I use the tech kit for my tech edc, and the pouch for my small accessories like napkins, lip balm, hand cream, and medicine. Works like a charm!
I share your concerns with the bands on the tech kit, wish they made them a little better to be honest, I use this tech kit instead of the peak design tech kit, I think you we've got to have a masters in bellroy packing to get the most out of bellroy to be honest. Great video - keep up the good work from australia.
I think pitting Bellroy's Classic Pouch against their Dopp Kit/Bag would be a nice idea, if we're talking about toiletries instead of tech :) P.s. loved this video :3
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful and that’s a great idea would definitely like to do a comparison with the bellroy dope kit in the future!:)
Great video. But did Bellroy change the zips? I have the classic but it has a YKK zip. You can see the brandling on the side of the 'bridge' over the ring for the zipper.
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! And good question on the zippers! Mine currently say ook on the bridge so Like you said maybe they had ykks in the past!
@@dannypacks thanks for the reply! I've been seeing a few comments about the zippers not being great on these, and puzzled as to why. Now it makes sense. How odd they'd change and it seems downgrade them. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!
@@thedachmo all three of mine have OOK on them, my pencil case as well and my standing pouch plus has no name on the bridge. I have reached out to bellroy I know their materials change based on the colours of their products as I have everything in Marine Blue I fear they get ook zips.
@@geekindakitchen I have a pencil case and 3 classic pouches, all have YKKs. It does say on their website they use a mix, with some detail of when they use which. Not sure on the logic between colours though!
Thank you for watching and for the positive feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful and I’m definitely a fan of bellroy products as well! The peak design pouch looks a little big for me but it’s design seems really cool as well!:)
@@dannypacks Thanks I ended up deciding to order the Bellroy Classic Pouch in Marine Blue as I wanted the smaller pouch. Thanks amd keep up the great content on your Channel. 😎👍🏼
Great comparison. I am also not the biggest fan of those jeans like zippers. Speaking of Bellroy do you think you will get their new super expensive Apex Backpack in your hands?
Great tips, comparison and product lineup for travel! Love it. We have so many customers who travel for work and play - this kind of content is great to be across. 😁Definitely a channel to click subscribe!
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! The bag looks great and I don’t know if I will be able to get one to review just yet but I will do my best!:)
Loved the commentary. Thankfully the close captions were close enough and did not have that backing beat. I am not sure why you feel you need a backing track. For me made the content harder to digest.
Thank you for watching and for the feedback! I’m glad the video was helpful, and that’s a good point on the music and it’s something I am still working at getting better at integrating into the videos to make them more enjoyable to watch :)

Very helpful comparison. I have the classic pouch and was pondering whether to upgrade onto the tech kit. I think I'll be getting the tech
