I'm considering trying one of these but I have a serious concern... would this increase my risk of skin cancer? Would this affect my pigmentation any? How safe are these products? I'd love to not need to shave anymore, but it's not worth any added risk of cancer, especially when my safety razor is so cheap to use.
Hi Grace! That’s a valid concern! There’s been numerous studies on IPL concluding no increase to risk of cancer 🤗 skin cancer is caused by DNA damage to skin cells caused by ultraviolet radiation. Laser hair removal does not cause this type of damage because IPL uses non-ionizing radiation. As far as affecting pigmentation, if your hair is darker than your skin tone the light will be absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. Which is why IPL is not recommended for darker skin types. If you are a higher skin type you are at risk of hyperpigmentation caused by the heat from the light. The great thing about Nood is you can choose the level of intensity (levels 1-7) and it is strongly advised to find your treatment level by doing a skin safety test before starting treatment. I hope this helps!
Yes three thorough passes! You don’t need to wait in between the passes as long as you are covering the entire treatment area as one pass and then starting again for another pass. It’s not recommended to flash one spot in the treatment area three times back to back.
It’s safe to use anywhere you grow hair 🤗 and it’s not recommended to use over tattoos because the light will be more attracted to the pigment in your skin than the hair follicle. It can cause a bad reaction or mess up your ink.
I saw results in about 10 weeks with the finer hair like my legs and arms. In the thicker hair like my underarms I would agree it’s slower but definitely a noticeable difference!
My hair grows back so quickly, so I prefer to shave and follow with the IPL. Obviously if you cut yourself while shaving avoid using the IPL in that area, but I have seen the best results this way. I noticed that if I use the IPL on an area where the hair is visible, it burns the hair and I feel like that affects the window on the device. Be sure to clean the window with a dry cloth after every use to keep it clean!
I would speak with your primary care provider who is prescribing your minoxidil to confirm. If the medication causes photosensitivity it’s not recommended to use this device.
Really helpful video. Thank you!
I appreciate your thoroughness!! Thanks a ton :^D
Thank you, I’m so glad it could help! 🤗

Did it actually work for you though? It seems to be working for me although very slowly and i have been using it on 7 near the whole time.

So you shave right before? On the website, it says 12-24 hours prior, but I’m not seeing results on week 6 of doing it that way. ❤
