I did several weeks of research before buying my first chain from Jacoje. You guys provide honest insight and honestly I learned more just from your TH-cam videos than any other source online. Videos from 5+ years ago on this channel are more informative than anything else I've looked over.
Thank you guys honestly for educating us. I've been to jewelers before where they will not openly disclose anything unless you ask them to and even then a lot are shady.

I couldn’t be (as well as so many others, I’m sure) more grateful for the free education you guys have been putting out over the years. Honestly, when it comes to the Gold plating finish, I definitely understand the reason as to why the industry does it.. I have no problem with it. Braden and Raquel y’all have to be the most HONEST jewelers on the internet. I don’t know of a single jewelry store or company who would admit that the entire industry is putting a gold plating over its jewelry. Having gold plating over gold is not an issue especially because it’s not gold over 925 where it’s going to flake off and turn your neck green. I did weeks of research myself before I finally ordered a chain from jacoje. For the gram weight and for the purity you both had the best prices and I felt like that I could trust the gold I was receiving was top quality. I’m currently in grad school with a super limited budget and would love the opportunity to show off that Jacoje Franco.

Keep preaching brother. Desimenation of knowledge/information is the pathway to enlightenment. And those who are called to enlighten others, are often criticised (e. g., Socrates). Sorry for the Greek philosopher reference, but I find similarities in all who drop knowledge (question everything and seek the truth). Now, you could help a brother out. I recently (Jacoje Day's) purchased beautiful heavy link's for myself, my boys, and my mom. And like a fool, believed my wife when she said she wasn't really into gold chains. Just like when you get McDonald's and she doesn't want any french fries, but eats all of yours. Moral of the story, if you plan on getting yourself a nice Jacoje chain, think about your wife/significant other, and for damn sure get her one too. She will never be mad about getting a beautiful piece of jewelry, but there's a high likelihood she be hurt if you don't include her. Help a brother out.

These gold education videos are amazing! When I was just getting into jewelry, I paid 5K for a 70 g 14 karat white gold Cuban bracelet. I trusted my jeweler and paid right away. Later on, I found out I paid 100% markup for that bracelet. Since finding Jacoje, I have learned so much about the jewelry game, and now I won’t shop anywhere else(my Jacoje 4mm 18k rope is my new favorite piece ☺️). I have no issue with gold plating also, as long as the base metal is what is advertised. As someone who loves white gold, I know most of my gold is plated in rhodium, and I have to redo that plating every once in a while, and that’s just how it is. These videos are amazing Braden, and keep teaching us about everything this jewelry game has to offer!!!!!!

I think it is good that you are making this public knowledge since it is reasonable information for people to have access to, and enables people to make a more well-informed purchase.

He is 100% correct. I bought a 10k 10mm Cuban link from kay jewelry for 3200 for my husband and it started to spot. The jewelry store said that's because you were it in the pool. However I have a bracelet that never comes off and it has never spotted. The jewelry store made me buy a 200 warranty to have it (POLISHED) I'm sure they just replated it. So I went to a pawn shop in my area who confirmed the gold is real but the quality is cheap due to the overhead and the bonus these jewelry store managers receive if they make there sales goals for the year. Let's just say when you buy from a big chain jewelry store you are paying for there 80,000 bonus and getting cheaply plated gold. I wish I could show pictures the bracelet almost looked copper. Also there is only $700 worth of gold in the 3200 bracelet I bought from Kay Jewelry. Also trust the little guy they aren't fight for a 80,000 bonus.

Plating is a delicate concept to address but I wouldn’t question Jacoje for a second, since you are the one that has been teaching us what to look for when purchasing gold. It wouldn’t make sense for you to educate your audience if you were hiding something or not delivering top quality. For me I wouldn’t mind gold plating as long as it’s solid gold beneath it. It’s just an option to make your piece stand out even more and its not fake since it’s real gold under the coating. It’s like d/c on a chain, just a way to make the chain have more presence and bling factor.

My first reaction when I see gold plated is, “What!”From the title I assumed it was other jewelers but not my Jacoje jewelry too. Listening to you your video made me a little worried at first about the quality of gold, but the way you explained the gold plating being an additional layer of gold took away my first reaction.
I first found you years ago when I was visiting jewelry stores to buy my son a gold necklace. I did a lot of research and learned a lot from you. After watching your videos it was easy to see the quality in the jewelry stores were way overpriced.

Plating over solid gold for a rich gold color is normal. Here in south florida, nearly every jeweler does that. Also instead of polishing your scratched solid gold, you can just re-plate it too. I dont mind it and glad you guys are revealing these little jeweler secrets. What I do hate though is jewelers plating gold over silver and claiming its real gold. I see it all the time on instagram and social media. Very scummy. Anyway, hopefully
I win this time around. My wife just had our twins and been trying to save up some money to get her a nice chain as a gift. Thanks again for doing the giveaways!

Braden and Raquel, you guys said it best about the plating being a gloss finish on an already beautiful solid piece, it’s industry standard. I really do appreciate the time you guys take to educate us on what’s really going on in the jewelry world. Honesty goes a long way and I love you guys for that.

Braden! The fact that you made a video explaining the plating process just gives me so much more confidence in you and your business! Before you i knew NOTHING about jewelry , gram weight and differ to styles of chain! You made it happen and you informed us! I went to the mall and they would not let me weigh the chain or give me a gram weight! Thank you Braden for informing us! Smash! I love Franco chains and i had one but i had to sell it during the pandemic 😷 when i got married! Would love a Jacoje Franco 22k it would be so incredible! Thanks again. Oscar M FROM LOS ANGELES, CA

Honestly I thought you had already mentioned this a long time ago (been watching for a few years). It’s like a clear coat finish where it’s super shiny and sparkly coming out but then over time it sets in it’s natural color. I don’t see an issue with it man. Keep killing it, I love how consistent the videos have been. Also 22kt would be a flex lol

I have bought three different gold chains in the past year. I keep buying one and realizing I didn’t get my monies worth and sell it and buy another (thinking this one is better). Thank god I found Braden’s channel. I have been saving up so I could buy a Jacoje 18k 5mm rope as my forever piece. I am currently studying to be a physician assistant so it’s going to have to wait until I’m done with school but I’m excited. This Franco would be the perfect chain to start my ‘real’ collection 😅. It's so funny. At no point did I feel like you were getting anything off your chest or revealing anything that was eating you by dropping the low down on higher karat finished jewlery. You were just, as per usual, being your transparent and informative friendly neighborhood jewler that we have always and continue to love. Giving us the real info about the industry from the inside. As you said almost any other big retail jewler would either not tell you or just straight up lie about it. Thanks to you I've invested in well priced jewlery and am saving up to purchase my first Jacoje link so I can support and keep it real clean just like you taught us. All I have is my 10k rope chain like my grandpa use to rock. Couldn't imagine a 22k chain! Much love. Wilber K. Bonita, CA.

When you mentioned that the chains were plated in a higher purity that did not bother me one bit. I actually like the idea of it, it makes the chain look so fresh when you first get it and when the plating seems to "wear off" after use and use you don't really notice much of a difference anyway. At the end of the day they're still real gold and it's not like you're selling us silver that's plated gold. You've been the most honest jeweler on this app and I'm sure everyone appreciates what you do. It would be bonkers to win that Franco.

Gold plating to me looks a little off gold in color. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I can always tell the difference between coke and Pepsi and with that being said just from a distance I could tell the gold color a little off when it’s plated. Thank you Jacoje for all the information and educational videos you guys work hard to post for us. They really help and I can’t believe there’s people who don’t respect that. In my opinion, as long as you’re rocking a chain wether it’s plated gold, silver, steel, or a mix of them, I’m comfortable. I think that chains are less about the material and more about the meaning of the piece. So keep rocking whatever chain means the most to you and God bless everyone.

Initially when you said explained how every gold chain has that gold plating, I felt thrown off but I have another gold chain that is 14k as well but the color is much more yellow like 22k and I always wondered what the difference was so I knew right away you were just trying to educate us. Throughout all the years of watching I don’t have a doubt that you’re a very honest person who just wants the customer to know as much as possible so we can get what we want while having the easiest time. I bought a 2 mm 14k Franco from you guys I love it so much. I wear it with a pendant that was given to me as a child but it is a higher purity but regardless I wear it together daily because of the meaning it has for me but the color does sometimes stand out because it doesn’t match exactly. I love Franco’s but being in college it isn’t exactly the easiest to get the higher purity. It would be awesome to finally be able to pair my pendant with a chain that matches if I’m lucky enough to win. Win or not, thank you Braden and Raquel for all of your informative videos that help me and thousands of others figure out what’s best for us.

I have zero issues with the plating, after all it’s a part of manufacturing process making the look of the final product last longer and look extra fresh. What really matters is what’s underneath, and if Jacoje says it’s a certain purity - I have zero doubt that’s what it is. Thanks for another generous GAW!

I bought a 5mm moon cut chain and bracelet back in Sept, and was honestly shocked at how different the chain looked when I received it due to the almost Orange color of the plating. I messaged Braden and he told me that it was the one chain in their inventory that doesn’t match with any pendants and immediately I was bummed out. I felt upset and wanted to return it, Braden assured me it would wear off someday and eventually have a more natural look, so I’m hoping thats the case. Im glad someone like you guys is out here letting us know about gram weight and what semi-solid and plating all mean. I'm so happy you guys gave one of the chains to Bettie. I truly believe that what you guys are doing is special, spreading your knowledge and passion to the masses. My biggest hold up in buying a gold chain has been not knowing what i wanted, what to look or in a chain, or if i was getting good value with my purchase. Since finding this channel it has given me the knowledge to feel confident in buying gold jewelry.
As far as the platting, i don't think it's a big deal. it's like having clear coat paint over the base coat on your car. the top coat just maximizes the shine. i do prefer to have the coating the same karat as the gold underneath mainly because i feel like the scratches will show less overtime.

I understand the whole plating process and everything you said in your first video made sense to me. I understand how some people can be misconstrued because it’s a touchy subject and kinda hard to explain. As someone who bought a white gold 5mm Cuban from your boy, I did my own research not only online but through jacoje TH-cam videos. Because of jacoje videos I learned that white gold is just yellow gold that is dipped in an expensive liquid rhodium therefore basically plating the jewelry. With all that being said i love the Franco look and when funds are right Franco is definitely going to be my next jewelry purchase. I love my white gold chain and would love my first yellow piece! Keep up the amazing work, love you guys both and good luck on the giveaway everyone!! Steven G Denver co

See, unlike most people i'm actually curious so I have been wondering why my 14kt chain looked different from my 14kt ring and the gold plating video you posted answered that question perfectly. I didn't take it as "ohh now all my jewelry is fake blah blah blah" lol. It was a good and appreciated insight on how that works. Guys just because your solid 14kt gold was plated (just to give it a richer color) doesn't mean its fake or any less valuable by any means so stop getting mad at them, plus its not their fault. Like they said majority of manufacturers in the business does it.
That's like the car business, do you actually think your cars have the 0-10 miles they say on a brand new car? Heads up majority of them have a good amount more than that...

I would prefer the gold plating over my solid gold. it takes nothing away from the chain it's only adding shine and protecton. Its not like someones scraping gold off your chian its just having an extra layer of protecion. if it's marked with the metal purity of the chain there is nothing misleading about that. I have a silver chain plated with black rhodium. I would love to replace it with one of those 22k chains. Paul from Eugene Oregon

I really liked the previous video on gold "plating". Very much like your older videos, very informative. It also is very much in keeping with what you see when white gold eventually looses its rhodium plating and starts to turn yellow (as the true pure color of gold is yellow). I am not sure why that person wrote what they said about the video. Perhaps they did not fully understand, or did not watch it from beginning to end. You clearly stated on multiple occasions that the chains are made of solid gold (14k, 18k, or 22k with different color finishing). I would honestly not worry about it. I feel that most people who saw your video understood and appreciated your message. Keep up the great work with videos, they have definitely increased our knowledge and appreciation for solid gold jewellery. Definitely love those giveaways too !

I have weighed a gold .925 plated Jaxxon Cuban( silver plated w gold ) next to my jacoje 14k Cuban SOLID GOlD, they were the same 5mm 22in . The jacoje was much heavier!! gold is heavy baby! I’ve been trusting Braden for a few years as my trusted source for Jewelry. I have my 5.5mm flat curb chain from Jacoje and a custom bracelet from my hometown. Both of them are solid 14k gold, but my chain from Jacoje looks a lot better because of the additional top coat put on by the manufacturer. My bracelet was handmade and is very beautiful but you can see minor imperfections and the color isn’t as consistent as the chain because there is no top coating. As long as the buyer knows what he/she is purchasing, it shouldn't matter if the chain is plated because we all have different budgets or factors that influence what type of chain we buy. Someone might get a subtle 22k chain and another might be interested in a bigger 14k chain with 22k plating, at least they know what they are buying. I wasn't interested in gold before but after watching Jacoje videos and seeing the the website which are both highly informative, I had the gold fever ever since. Also confident that Jacoje jewelry is the best bang for your buck unlike other jewellers that don't have information in their items like gram weight, solid, hollow, plated, etc. Keep making these videos, very informative, Raquel and Braden are always entertaining. I understand why gold chain manufactures would plate at the end to give an uniformity in it's appearance. Nothing would worst than spending your hard earned money on a gold chain just to unbox it and have the clasp, end caps and gold links all be different shades. It makes sense seeing the gold chain manufactures don't all make their own end caps and clasp.
In my opinion it's not an issue as long as the plating is for uniformity/appearance and not trying to pass a lower karat chain as a higher karat chain. I've never had a chain higher than 14kt but you can definitely see the difference in that rich 22kt gold color. Thanks Raquel for the giveaway! Even though he didn't have a choice, he didn't fight it too hard this time lol :)

I think it’s is great that you were honest and informative about gold plating. All jewelers should be 100 percent transparent with their customers in order to create a good relationship to make a great buying experience. I believe the gold plating is good because it allows chains to have a different finish in order to make them a unique style. The different shades of gold is always nice. Rigoberto A. This is why we trust Jacoje
Its really cool to hear about the way that solid gold chains are platted (finished) it makes sense that this is a process that needs to be done in order for gold to look uniform, (a look that most of us want) it was really interesting to learn about it because the more we know as consumers the better. Its a blessing to have Jewelers like you that believe the same, instead of wanting to keep your costumers in the dark. who knows maybe someone would like the natural raw look of gold before the finish. Now that Braden let us know about this industry "secret" we can make more informed decisions. truly appreciate that level of honesty and integrity in a business. thank you for always keeping it real with us! and for inspiring us to go after our dreams but also encouraging our giving spirit with these giveaways. leading by example is a beautiful thing. Jacoje is for sure leading in Gold and in giving. Blessings to you both
Can't wait to see the video Raquel was talking about with the natural cuban!
Ps: Love the shirt Braden, dude you totally have Skywalker hair swag, you're our personal Braden Skywalker bringing the bling to the rest of us in the Alliance lol

After knowledge from Jacoje of “plating” on jewelry and how Jewlers do it make more sense since for the more uniform look, with gold over gold it doesn’t matter a 14k chain with a 18k plating still is a 14k chain and should be sold as a 14k chain , a 14k chain with a 18k plating sold as 18k now that’s a different story. Thank you both for the information and knowledge and yes Jewlers do not like a well informed customer, keep up the good work and thank you for the giveaways.
I do love the 22k 22” 2.5mm Franco and if I won it I already have a pendant for it, I would have a 1/4ozt Gold Eagle pendant since the coin is 22k itself and I would give it to my mother when I do visit her in Alaska for Mother’s Day. Love you both and agin thank you for what you do.

Love all the info you spread about the industry. Been watching your stuff for a while learning about gold while saving up to buy some from you. The plating video was very informative and a good insight, adds an extra layer of protection and helps give a consistent color across the board. Keep killing it in the industry!

Hearing you guys explain that you guys are specifically selecting the contest winners is so cool as it proves you guys are so genuine and trying to provide people that may otherwise not be able to buy a product from you guys. That first gold piece is so special and sure to start up the gold fever so glad Betty was able to get her piece! Bailey M. El Dorado Hills, CA. I understand the plating finishing process as with any product they want to ensure a uniform product. Can see how some people may be caught off guard but i believe as long as the chain is solid, no harm in applying a finish to get that desired color on the product!

I don't get why so many people are up in arms over this, its not like jacoje slaps gold plating onto copper wire and tells us its solid gold. The gram weight is there, the caratage is there, and they're not trying to hide anything or mislead customers.

Loved the gold plating subject, having someone so well known & someone that educates their audience. The concept is pretty easy to grasp once you don’t get distracted by certain words, the fact that you talked about it and we’re so transparent with it just makes me what to keep being a jacoje customer! I appreciate all these videos with you and Raquel from entertainment to information I can truly count on Jacoje!

I think you video on the plating was very informative you broke it down for everybody to know what kind of jewelry they have and to let them know what the jewelry stores in the mall would not tell us as customers what we would get from them now we know and are more aware thanks for the info.

    Shoutout Jacoje Jewelry!
I don’t think people who were complaining really watched and comprehended the full video about the plating thing.
Braden is a real one for actually providing transparency and helping everyone be more informed! Thanks!
