@@OverlordZephyros They thought the same thing in Vietnam in aerial combat with Migs. They learned the hard way and put the gun back on the US fighters.
Yeah that's called adapting and the Ukrainians drones are still effective. The US and the western countries have been watching this war the entire time and taking notes. Then building new things to counter the situations that could come of it in future wars. Remember the first country to start using drones in war was the US . Also note that the only reason Ukrainians generals accepted the drone corps part of their military was the proven effectiveness of the drones during the early part of the war. Russia was a little slow on this . But it's like the old saying "Generals always fight the last war". On the positive we voted out the war hawks and voted in the peace through strength President again. So this should be cleared up in a few months.
@toliklisiy5868 Wasn't so popular until the US started using armed drones about 20 or so years ago. Ukraine adopted the concept from the US. Russia adopted it from them. Because drones weren't really a thing in the Soviet Army. Primarily because Russia was going broke. It was an economic collapse that led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. No money means no new equipment.
The Leopards bore the brunt of the failed counter-offensive. Long minefields, well-developed positions and the use of combat helicopters. Losses were to be expected there. But there are still some on the move and they are recording successes. To hear the Ukrainians tell it, the Leopard 2 is their favorite main battle tank
The only reason Ukraine’s offensive failed is because of the MAGA nut jobs in America held back weapons for seven months. Had nothing to do with Superior Russian tactics. The Ukrainian simply didn’t have short range air defences or fighter aircraft. Nothing to be proud of.
There is more IFV Bradley vs. Russian MBTs than Leopard 2 vs. Russian MBTs. I would say the Leopard 2 is own class far above theceussian MBTs while 2 Bradleys are Russian MBT Killers. Wingmen Bradley with TOW focuse the other is smashing the russian MBT out of the Battle.
True however but with limited supplies? Russian usually have secondary drone after the first impact or finishing it off with artillery. Russia seems to have loads of Old soviet tanks they can replenish quickly but not for Ukrainian
Not with that low production rate vs their production rate. You know that the destroyed ratio in WW2 is 500 tanks vs 83000 tanks? Guess which one have the capital split into two with a wall? We weren't playing tank computer games here.

Come on: even Oryx admits the loss of 52 Leopards (those include Swedish Stridsvagn 122s and Finnish Leopard 2Rs, those are Leopards too). And Oryx always downplays Ukrainian losses and amplify Russian losses.
What is the reason? Simply war. You can not attack an enemy and await to get not hit by artillery, mines, rockets and bombs. The Russians has lost 5.000 tanks - so what is here the argument?
Ukraine also have the much lighter Leopard1 (88 pieces delivered), which not get stuck in the mud as easily as the heavier western tanks. The weight of a Leopard1 is about equal to the weight of a T-72. Ukraine has also recieved 170 swedish IFVs, which are SPECIFICALLY constructed to work very well also in deep snow and the swampy moors in northern Sweden.
T-72s also get stuck in the mud. It happens to all tanks at some point. Which is why tank crews train in recovery of stuck tanks. It's also why recovery vehicles exist. Just saying. This is the same dumb thing that is said when talking about the T-34 vs the German tanks in WW2. It is utter bs to think that either side is having any better of a time in the current conditions.
@@ViceCoin I am pretty sure they sent the updated Leppard 2A6 for this reason. 120mm is more effective. What's behind this? Hundreds of destroyed Russian tanks. Ukraine fares much better than Israel did in its most intense war 1973. The current tank loss ratio is 1:3,5 meaning 3,5 Russian tanks lost for every Ukraine tank. In Yom Kippur War Israel managed to destroy 2,5 tanks for the loss of 1 tank.
Has it occurred to you that they are sparingly deployed only on specific occasions instead of mass daily deployment? Same goes to Abrams, Challengers etc, they just stay in the rear mostly while Soviet era tanks do the heavy lifting.

Nato would never use Leopard Tanks like Ukraine. Nato would have total air superiourity and then the Leopard would be highly effective without major losses. But after all losing about 40 tanks in more than a year, it should be possible to replace them. Russia has lost thousands within the same period.
No serious military analyst thought the Leopard 2 would be a game changer unless somewhere in the order of 1,500 were provided, combined with sufficient IFVs, artillery and air assets. This has never been done. No modern combat system works alone, they are a “system of systems”.
67,429 tanks and self-propelled guns were destroyed in 5-years during WW2. Nobody thought they were “obsolete” and kept rolling them off the assembly line. Nothing is invincible, and everything has its place in combined arms warfare.
If they can both be destroyed with a $500 drone I really don’t see how that matters unless you’re talking about costs in which there’s no comparison which costs much more.
I think that super heavy tanks like the Leopard are quickly becoming obsolete on the new battlefield. You have inexpensive drones and artillery taking out million dollar plus tanks with ease. I foresee a move towards smaller and lighter tanks. Tanks that are faster, cheaper, and harder to hit dominating the battlefield.
Now a days its tank vs drone. Not really tank vs tank even though both tanks can kill each other. Why use a 2kk tank when you can kill it with a 50k drone
Well, yes, it is difficult. If the Russians destroyed almost all the tanks that participated in the battle🤷🏻♂️ This can be judged by the regular new deliveries of new equipment to Ukraine. Why do they need another 200 Bradleys if the old ones were so good?! And why do they need Polish Crabs and American Paladins if the old ones are so good?! This means the old ones are no longer there, either they are out of order, or they have been destroyed or captured. And if we assume that the old ones were not destroyed and new ones are being delivered to Ukraine, then why are there no successes?! Seriously, not a single success with such powerful equipment, not a single one... Where is the "complete superiority of NATO strategy and its equipment". Show me your finger on the map. A tank is not a machine for protecting the crew, it is a machine for "breaking through the defense". If you want to save the crew as much as possible, then put it in a bunker. What's the point of a tank if they abandon it and run away, it didn't fulfill its purpose, and because of all the electronics and heating up the ass, these tanks are expensive and only a couple hundred of them were produced🤷🏻♂️ Why are they needed?!
Okay guys, we all know that the worst tank is the Challenger 2🤫 Have you all seen the video where after a drone hit the CHALLENGER it exploded like a powder keg🤷🏻♂️ There are literally bags of gunpowder inside the tank🫠 Their old school turned out to be too old😂

It might even be true. It still means their losses are relatively much less than russian tanklosses. And it does not differentiate between L1 and L2 losses

The Ukrainian losses are minimal compared to the Russian losses. But its a war. Material gets lost because its being used in combat. Another point is that the tanks supplied to Ukraine are far too few. Also the Leopard 1 has a weaker armour so they have to be used more cautious.
Stop undervaluating the russian's worth. They are smarter than you think and find simpler and cheaper solutions to complex western's complex and expensive ones. Exactly, Oryx only records visual verified losses. So it may have recorded the same tank 3 or 4 times with the uncertainty of which side owned this tank (including changing ownership after recovery), how many times it was recovered and how many time wrecks were partially salvaged. On other hand Oryx will not tell you that a tank is out of commission because of a worn out barrel (although that is more of a howitzer issue).
@@RaymondCollishaw-i1e Depends on what the video evidence is. Flying turrets and crashed jets and helicopters are obvious losses. Any video with disabled vehicles is just that: disabled vehicles. Tactics and crew training is key to any Armies win and loses. Problem is Ukraine is in the middle of a war with limited man power and training. For example during Nato FTX competitions during the Cold War there were times when the US armor won the competition and there were times German Armor won. Bottom line it all depends on the individual crews and there quick adjustments on tactics to meet the goal
The weapons systems are not everything, what is important is their number, the training of the crew and their morale. The headline 'Gamechanger' was only partly aimed at the Ukrainian military, it was also intended to gather the people in the West behind the warmongers in parliament and to conceal the failure of all attempts, whether the refusal of diplomacy or the huge amounts of money and weapons that were spent to no avail. It is a 'smoke grenade' to distract the population from who is really getting rich from the billions. Also, defending capital is much more important with that tiny amount of Gepards shipped. Ukraine assembly rate for Gepard is zero compared to Russian assembly rate of drones. We should start see this war not as a war equipment catwalk, and more as the objective oriented instead. We saying the stuff like a military magazine photo session, while Russian treat their billion dollars war equipment as ammo to spent.
I remember we laughed at "Cope cage" the Russian used back in 2022. Now that Israel uses it too means that it works and Russian did adapt. They spam everything while keep adapting. This should get the alarm turned on.

Russia has adopted Ukraine’s drone attack strategy simple but affective
Russia did not adopt anything from Ukraine, because drones existed back in the USSR
only drone warfare wasn’t so popular back then.

As for many European countries. But shares your position
There is more IFV Bradley vs. Russian MBTs than Leopard 2 vs. Russian MBTs.

Nato would never use Leopard Tanks like Ukraine. Nato would have total air superiourity and then the Leopard would be highly effective without major losses.
But after all losing about 40 tanks in more than a year, it should be possible to replace them. Russia has lost thousands within the same period.
Where are those game changer abrams where are they...LMAO..
No serious military analyst thought the Leopard 2 would be a game changer unless somewhere in the order of 1,500 were provided, combined with sufficient IFVs, artillery and air assets. This has never been done. No modern combat system works alone, they are a “system of systems”.

Artillery and drones still rain supreme
I think that super heavy tanks like the Leopard are quickly becoming obsolete on the new battlefield. You have inexpensive drones and artillery taking out million dollar plus tanks with ease. I foresee a move towards smaller and lighter tanks. Tanks that are faster, cheaper, and harder to hit dominating the battlefield.
Please answer one question: How many of the handful of Abrams have survived till now?
There is no defence against "Kornet M" projectile....🧐
Now a days its tank vs drone. Not really tank vs tank even though both tanks can kill each other. Why use a 2kk tank when you can kill it with a 50k drone
This is what happens when tanks don't have air superiority. Basic warfare 101. Yet all the idiots keep throwing money at it.
Not very many tanks destroyed compared to what Russia has lost…we stand with Ukraine.

40 Leopard tanks lost after years of war is a "heavy blow" huh? 🤣
its 40 because that's all they've sent to actual battlefield instead of using as a model to show on TV

Oh my, another over-rated German tank. Times change, German tank fragility does not.
