  • It’s well documented that stroking a cat helps reduce human stress levels-but apparently, it has the same effect on a troop of vervet monkeys, who have adopted a couple of local strays.

I dunno about these monkeys, but there are monkeys in India, or somewhere in that area, that kidnap puppies and pull them around by there tails. They feed the puppies and they grow up with the monkeys. Then the dogs protect the monkeys.

Why would cats choose a enclosure instead of stay outside of it? It could be that the monkeys don't scare them as much as the world outside of it. The enclosure would keep out other rural cats that would be rivals and also other dangers to the cats, such as other animals that would prey on them.

So cats are used in human and monkey old age homes?? That’s amazing. They even allow some prisoners to have pet cats if they have good behavior. Saw a doc on death row inmates and one hat a cat he got from the prison program he was able to raise from a kitten. Nice they can have some companionship while they wait, especially if they’re being good inmates.

I am so sick of English and American people talking about how monkeys do not make good pets. They say that because they don’t have monkeys in their region since they’ve run them all out or killed them all. Asians and Africans have had monkeys as pets for thousands of years. We feel they make good pets. My grandparents had monkeys, my neighbors grandparents had monkeys. My cousin has monkeys now. It is a tradition of Asians to have monkeys. It’s traditional for African people to also have monkeys
