- An unusual friendship is brewing at Orangutan Jungle School between one of the orangutans and a young male macaque. Inter-species friendships are rare- but they’re more common here than in the wild.

I gasped when he put his tiny paw in her big outstretched hand. How can you watch something like this and think animals don't feel emotion or have souls? These two have found their kindred spirit.
Heck yeah. These animals, more so the orangutan can establish friendships. Scientifically it’s “social bonding” or “strengthening social networks” but is human friendship really any different, apart from us humans doing things like going to the mall together or taking a road trip?
I also like how the monkey and orangutan establish boundaries without ending contact or getting violent. Slowly gaining trust.

Then I came to the comment from you who for what reasons seems to be fixated like a child would go on and on about a very normal act animal's AND HUMANS do.
It's all about scent.
This is one HUGE part of humans male and females are attracted by their scent.

This particular species of macaque seems super chill compared to so many closely related species
Had something to do with them living in rain forest probably. Out of all big apes, Orangutan is the chillest too. And they might also be used to social contact with other species, like humans.

There are people who click the dislike for the most trifling reasons. They may not agree with the choice of music, the volume is too high/low, a word in the title does not accurately describe the video or a myriad of other trivia.

It’s interesting to watch how the apes evolve when survival isn’t the central point of existence, as it is in the wild. These young orphans have developed skills in this environment that they will take with them once they eventually released back into the wild.

Don’t they have on one of the pre-release islands, a pig-tailed macaque they transferred there because he was too aggressive?
Heard that he stops the smaller macaques on the island from approaching when the orangutans are eating in exchange for some of the fruit.
I worked at zaoo, OrangUtan is the most gentle creatures.

Exactly ! But on this show where they exploit animals for profit, they have to humanize everything to appease the simple minded folks that can only equate things into how it applies to people , rather than actually observing things for what they really are.

Orangutans, Bonobos And Gorillaa are my favorite apes. Don't like Chimps because of their mostly violent and unpredictable behaviour.
Chimpanzees aren’t that violent. They’re misunderstood. If you can read their body language then they’re not unpredictable. Yes chimpanzees can be violent but not most of the time. Human beings are much more violent and unpredictable than chimpanzees.

See when you lie down his belly out usually means we groomy AKA will you be my buddy these guys are extremely friendly I seen we are there were macaque was mother was raining the baby and they were fighting it out and if she finally stopped and she realized baby was just really upset and wanted a hug was a fighting Gary Neville so the mechanic mom and a baby robin in the oldest sister comes over a table and be part of the family Dynamics thing cast and orangutans are extremely intelligent and extremely loving so I bet they'll make good friends back sometimes different types of primates become like family despite the different types of primate
