Hi kAN, Wiitendoon here (btw, the "Wii" part is pronounced "we", just like for the Nintendo Wii console)
So, about the P.U.S.S.M. creation (stupid name I know, I was going for an acronym like Jarvis from Marvel's Iron Man, "Just A Rather Very Intelligent System"), here are some in depth info on what it does exactly and why there is a Stop sign and a red button.
Simply, it cycles through the 4 sequences that you saw. Internally, each sequences has 2 memory bits (one that activates when the player flipped the switch, the other when the machine responded). When the "Admin Testing Chair" (originally called, "Debug Chair") opens up, it will stay opened for a certain amount of time before closing back (the first switch on that chair blocks that auto-closing feature when you're not in the chair).
The Stop sign and the red button are part of the "Emergency Logic Reset" feature. When you see the Stop sign, that means that the logic is currently broken and is going to be reset shortly. Like for example, if the switch is stuck in the middle, if a memory bit is broken or if the user bit is active but the machine "response" bit didn't activate fast enough, all memory bits will reset and the switch will be forced back to "Off" position. Hold the red button to trigger the feature manually.
