- It's bittersweet leaving the Hudson River, but we have one final cruise planned! Our anchorage is just North of Albany and we have a short cruise to Troy, New York. We are planning to stop only for a few hours, but you know what they say about best-laid plans...

ABOUT US
Hi! We are high school sweethearts from Atlanta, Georgia who decided to take a year off to travel around the world. Together we decided to create vlogs for our journey as a fun way to remember it. On September 15, 2019, we left Atlanta with 3 bags, 2 one-way tickets, and 1 goal of traveling for a whole year. Little did we know, 6 months later we would find ourselves in a nationwide lockdown in India. After spending 5 months in India, we came back to the United States and decided to purchase a 34’ Trawler, dive headfirst into boat life, and kick-off America’s Great Loop.
The good, the bad, the ugly - and most importantly, the real and real funny. We’re not here to tell you “how it’s done.”, just how we’ve done it. And that whatever it is that’s calling you - the way you’ll do it is much more attainable than it may seem.

NY boating laws consider the area around an anchored vessel as a "no wake" zone. It's courteous, and it's also the law.
Great video series, I'm watching the whole series as I will do the loop someday.

No way!!! This is just the second video of yours we have watched and we are fairly close to where you are at, from Erie PA here. I am quickly realizing why your name is Pivot... so fitting! I love the relaxing vibe of your boat at the bench seats. The dutch udder is so cute! Loving the cups the ice cream is in. The names are so adorable and the flavors so creative. I saw you walked by Russell Sage College, did you hike up the hill to RPI? My alma mater! There is some nice architecture on campus, as well as good views down to the Hudson. Going 'downtown' to the bars was our primary weekend entertainment.
Ahh neat! Nope we didn't make it up there, but next time we are in Troy hopefully we can get a bit further out of just the downtown. Cheers!

From a boaters point of view..how was the Mississippi?

Our experience was good on the Mississippi - since the water level was so low, all the wing dams were visible which was nice. We only anchored on the M. once and it wasn't that great, super shallow and very muddy, but all in all a pleasant ride!

I'm seeing a lot about the Mississippi River water levels being way down... I hope it doesn't mess you up on your way down the loop...
Fortunately it didn't affect us too much this year!

The map doesn't show water differently then land so that's probably why it looks strange.
