I'm so glad someone was brave enough to ask to see that process! I often am curious but not always brave enough to actually voice it. ☺ Sometimes I'll just make stuff up and when it doesn't turn out perfect I don't try again. I appreciate all of you guys encouraging "non-perfection". And I'm finally becoming of the mind to do what pleases me since it's mine. Anyway, I'm inspired to put together an "art journal" for my attempts at creativity. And for that, I thank you all. (Makers is a wonderful community of folks.) 💝(good)💝(better)💝(absolute best)
Thanks to those who asked for this. I am surprised by the process. Thought it would be harder than this. Love the results and so grateful that you took the time to share your process. 🥰🙏
Ceri, I'm loving this video learning how to make the travelers Journal. As far as fast forward, Never never would I ever think of fast forward. And miss something important that you are telling us, and missing how you do everything, never, Love watching every part of your process on what ever project you are making. You are so wonderful to listen to and learn always so so much . I always look forward to your videos. You do such a wonderful job. Love all your funny things that you say as you are working. It's all good stuff. Thanks for sharing this with us, your the best Ceri.
What a gracious soul you are, Ceri, to respond to requests as you do -- it was fascinating (and inspiring) to watch you make this -- always a pleasure ❤🧡💛
OMG I started watching this in a coffee shop... And had to stop and wait until I got home to watch it in peace! I've just prepped an unused drawing journal into an art over .... And am confronted with many many white pages (including the cover!). Love everything you did. Some of your water color pages look like my attempts (so I'm encouraged to continue). I'm also thinking that powder bursts would work as well. Now I'm off to round off the corners! Thank you - and thanks to the subscribers who requested the video
I wouldn’t consider fast forwarding. Your video is perfect, explains every step, most enjoyably but without a lot of blabbering. Thank you so very much. I’m going to make myself a travel journal.
This looks so much fun… what a wonderful world 🗺️ I’ve discovered! You are a fabulous communicator and teacher Ceri thank you for the inspiration… greetings from Scotland 🏴🥃🥃
"OOH, that's a bit murdery". LOL... and then you went again with the berry mini ink. I just burst out in laughter😂. Haven't had a good laugh in days. Thank you ❤ Really great info in this video. Thank you for that as well. Be happy and keep well.
Really enjoyed watching your process Ceri, I’m not so keen on bright colours in my own work but I certainly enjoy watching others embracing the brightness, even when it’s “a little bit murdery”!!! Hope your holiday is wonderful! Laura ❤
Love watching you do your thing Ceri! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I think that you are on holiday, as you call it. In the states we call it vacation. I hope you enjoy your time here in America. Anxiously waiting to see what you will show us next. Yesterday I watched your 5 item exchange that you did with Gayle a couple of years ago, where you told us about your life and the challenges and changes you continuously were going through….then I watched what Gayle did with the items you sent her. Laughed and cried with both. Also, if you make a long video, I will watch all of it. I don’t get why people complain if a video is long, they watch movies that are usually 2+ hours long….they don’t complain about that! Just my thoughts Ceri.
Thank you Robin, I agree it's a video, you can stop and start whenever you wish, there's no obligation that forces people to watch, it should be a joyful thing to do.
This is an awesome video, Ceri. I LOVED seeing the process from beginning to end. Your instructions and the way you teach is excellent! Thank you so much for another great video and visit! ❤
Thanks for going through this again, Ceri. It was interesting to watch you switch from acrylic, to watercolour, to distress inks. You make it look fun and easy!
Thanks so much for the superb video. You made it easier for me. I love the 3 techniques in the same book. I always thought it was something I couldn't do . At 77 years old I'm a bit slower but be assured that I will try it. I will need distress ink and a few more things but xmas is near. Thanks for giving me more confidence in myself.
Ceri this has been so interesting watching this video! I had thought each page was done separately, dried and then put into a signature, not bound first. Amazing! The other thing that really hit me tonight is strange as I've seen it and done it many many times. But the difference in your signature with just rounding the corners! It made it more sophisticated! Not sure why it took me this long to really notice the difference! Lol. Slow learner I guess! Lol 😆 😉 I truly enjoyed this video, right up there with my top favorite videos. TFS! Hugs from South Dakota, USA 🤗 P.S. As normal, no response needed. 🙂
Thank you for the tutorial. I'm having trouble to cut the pages straight, but you said you don't worry so much. That's something I needed to hear. Probably it' s going better next time.
It has been delight to watch you create the art journal, so colourful and inspiring. I’ve added this to project my list. Thanks again for another amazing video 😊
Thank you so much Ceri for this tutorial, it is most helpful. I love your work and you are a fantastic teacher, you explain everything so as it is very clear.😘
So much useful information explained & demonstrated in such clear & easy to follow terms! Thank you, Ceri! I have been wanting to make my own journal that required minimum sewing & simple steps & your video is perfect. I enjoyed seeing all your techniques & can’t wait to try them out myself.
Hi Ceri. Thank you so much for all your videos. I have been on a creative jag and been trying stuff from your videos, which have been sending me off down creative rabbit holes! 😂 I'm completely inspired. I notice that perfection has been something that you are working on and I have had to also. I've finally gotten to a point where the only opinion that matters to me is mine (however I do appreciate other people's regard or esteem) I have several phrases I think of, but one I think you might like is - Humans weren't created to be perfect, so revel in your imperfection.
Ceri, this is sublime! I have a cover for a junk journal I planned on taking with me on upcoming travel. I'm going to "prepare" the pages before I go using your wonderful methods. And I'll be bold and unafraid! 🙂
This is a great video. I am going to try it. Have been scared to do mixed media type of stuff, but if it is only a 8ish by 8ish piece of paper, I will not be too upset about something turning out ugly…not quite a perfectionist, but I am so bad at selecting colors that work well together. Yes, I have a color wheel and I use it, but still do not like the combinations I end up with.
Hi Ceri! I remember you mentioned that you record using your iPad. What kind of tripod do you use? My mom does crafty vids, but can’t find a good tripod to hold her phone in a top-down angle. They’re all so flimsy and can’t hold the weight of it!

Wonderful to see how you make this travellers notebook🥰

Beautiful notebook! Thank you!

Thanks!
Thank you for your generosity, I’ll put it towards supplies for future videos.
Thought you were in Chicago! Thanks for the video!
Linda, I’ve spent the last few weeks filming ahead so there’d be videos scheduled whilst I take a break.
Love your aesthetic. 8.75 might be tricky to divide but 22 is easy enough 🤷♀️ 😊
So true!

Sandi if you're going to do this stay with either warm colours or cool colours they are more likely to work together if they're from the same family.
