I tried not to buy this, but I caved in and bought a 100 ml bottle at Barneys New York. When I first smelled it I was completely seduced. I spritzed some while watching this video so that I could follow your words. Carnal flower is one of the most intoxicating perfumes I have ever worn. It's a true masterpiece.
This is my signature perfume, I wear it very often. No one ever said that he or she didn't like the way I smelled. Everyone compliments. I'm a male over 35! Another often used from this house is Synthetic Jungle!
I think CF is the most masculine tuberose frag I tried. I have been obsessed with green florals recently, and Synthetic Jungle sample was one of my favorites. Tom Ford's Vert series is really good too, but it is discontinued and the prices are ridiculous.
I watched the interview Scentbird did with Frederic Malle and he claims Carnal Flower took 690 tries to get it just right. Wow! I'm not saying a lot of tries equals a good perfume, but the suffering and struggle to get to the final fragrance is enough to appreciate and buy this fragrance. Thank you Dacob for such a wonderful review.

I enjoyed this review. You did a great job. I will say, I probably will not get it because I am wimpy! I will stick to tuberose you find in Chanel No. 22 and in Gabrielle parfum. I think I need less of a challenge and more support from my perfumes due to life’s challenges. Maybe when I’m retired and if I become bored I will want to be challenged by a perfume. I wouldn’t mind appreciating this on someone else though. It sounds impressive.

I've finally managed to get me a decant of Carnal Flower, still haven't tried it (bought it on summer, only now it's winter - i'm gonna follow your rec though and wait for a rainy day...).
Up until a year ago I'd never thought I'd fall in love with this unique goddess called Tuberose - actually I'd run from it - but it was after trying another decant from Franck Boclet's Cocaïne (which I bought for it's namesake, I admit) and experienced the day after on my clothes... and there it happened, I was converted!

Glorious articulation on the spirit and nature of this incredible perfume, Dacob ❤. It’s my favourite tuberose and perfume of all time. Though I haven’t smelled all the tuberose perfumes out there, CF brings me back to the best times of my childhood in an instant, for that, I am forever grateful to Mr. Ropion and Mr. Malle 🙌🏽🙏🏽❤.

Carnal Flower was my wedding fragrance and only recently, 8 years later, I've gone through a spontaneous renewed love affair with this fragrance over this Summer. For a long time, I never wore it because I wanted to preserve the scent memory of my wedding. But oh no, it is far too beautiful for that. Your take on the fragrance - that it is about the regal beauty, power, and destruction of nature - is one that really resonated with me. I reflected on it through my own life's lens of wearing this while taking the leap into marriage. From your review: "I understand the perils, I know the risks - and I still decide to keep going". "You might lose yourself completely." One wedding gift we received that I never understood at the time was a statue of Shiva, along with a sheet of paper explaining her significance as "The Destroyer." At the time, I thought - "what an odd gift for a wedding, this is love and creation and not destruction!" Then when our son turned 2... and I saw the wreckage around my house... I realized I knew The Destroyer, and I understood ;) Carnal Flower is power, beauty, it is yes - nature - but for me, in my life, it is also humanity, love, sensuality, and sacrifice. I love this fragrance, my favorite tuberose! I’m on the lookout for the old formulation before the brand became part of Estée Lauder. The current version is still great though!
It has its variations… each batch is different from the past… some are more intense than others… 💖
Really appreciate your reviews and look forward to them. Just picked up a bottle of Tabu and agree it is excellent. I have come to understand from watching your reviews for many years that what really makes a masterpiece is when you continue to go back to a fragrance time and time again. It’s the perfumes you love and enjoy wearing and that stay with you over time. Those are the masterpieces. Carnal flower definitely deserves that distinction.
Lovely review Dacob ❤ Carnal Flower is a favorite of mine and I agree it’s a DEADLY fragrance. One night I sprayed it on my arm before bed. I must’ve rubbed my eye in the middle of the night by accident and awoke with blurred vision. I had to go to the eye doctor and turns out one pupil was dilated. There must be some type of nightshade “Bella Donna” type flower in here. Sprayer beware 🪻🪻🪻
My only two niche perfumes are Synthetic Jungle (now renamed Synthetic Nature and I’m afraid they may have changed it), and Carnal Flower.
I really love it. It’s so elegant, sensual and different that I reserve it for very special occasions.
Carnal Flower is magnificent in cold weather but it blooms beautifully during summer as well. Being from a tropical country, it reminds me of those exuberant Caribbean forests full of exotic flowers and plants. The coastline with coconut and banana trees.
But it also smells like the mountains of the Central Valley. White flowers, eucalyptus, soil, cold breeze, mosses.
Yes, brutally magnificent, magnetic, tempting but distant, inviting but only at a certain distance. This jewel says admire me but don’t you dare touching me. I’m too much for you to handle unless you are good enough to deserve me. But I will decide it…someday.

This was my first niche fragrance 💖. I could feel my eyes dilate when I first tried it. Not sure why, but it transported me to the glass greenhouse-like room in the movie Great Expectations, but instead it’s overgrown with these white flowers and cool humidity you get in the evening after a rainy day in late Spring. One spray IS enough, so as an over sprayer, I use the hair perfume to spray liberally, specially in hot weather. Your analysis brought me right back to that first experience 💖.

Omg not Dacob reviewing Malle 🤩🤩🤩 my Friday treat 🤩 as good as it gets in this lifetime hahaha love Carnal Flower! When I first discovered Malle, Carnal Flower was my favourite out of the Malle range, and I promised myself I will get it someday. By the time I got myself my first Malle, my taste shifted a little and I chose different fragrance instead. Nevertheless, Carnal Flower is a gorgeous, gorgeous perfume. I agree with everything said in this review. It feels majestic and humid almost, almost overwhelming, but you can’t and don’t want to get away 😂 Recently I got the newest Malle for acne, as well as discontinued Une Rose. Chanel and Malle for life, best perfume art ❤❤❤ my favourite tuberose is Gucci Bloom, so delicate, yet very much present and long lasting, simply beautiful ✨ Dacob - I saw someone selling miss Dior from the ‘60 on ebay, very old bottle. I wish you would have gotten it and review it for us. I was tempted but I am forced to pass (due to purchases mentioned earlier) 😂 and OMG sex and the city!! ❤ I (couldn’t help but ) wonder what perfume Dacob thinks the four characters of SATC would wear 💫

I had a generous decant for many years, but I admit that I have never had the nerve to wear Carnal Flower. Dacob, you've inspired me to try again. Chanel 22 and Dior New Look 1947 have been my (comparatively safe)go to tuberose fragrances.
I have the vintage version of this. Truly divine. Really potent and makes my mouth water. It is difficult to describe the type of emotions this scent evokes. It can be quite overwhelming for those staying around you if you live in a tropical country, like myself. Dose with care. 😁👋
Hey, friend, carnal flower has been attracted and seduced me for YEARS! 🤤😍 And I've never bought it, as if I had been waiting to be ", ready" for it, almost to deserve it... You gotta be able to wear it, like, the perfume chooses you when it decided you won it's intensity, and you won't spoil it or overspray it in a careless way.This is definitely a wild jungle, I so agree! 👍 This scent is so unique, there's no dupe around and that's a good thing! This one makes no compromise!

I got a sample set from Frederic Malle and didn’t really like any, hated Portrait of a Lady (sorry) but then I tried this. Wow!! Omg. It’s so heady. I’ve caved and bought some.

It is one of my favorite fragrances, so potent, intoxicating, sensual, it trully blooms in a balmy night. I wore it in a trip to Angkor Wat, in Cambodia where is humid and extremely hot and it was the best fit as the lighter fragrances I packed lasted a minute. Carnal Flower took me on a jungle journey with empty temples, dieties, ravaging nature and wilderness.

I've read this one smells like Sand & Sable from the 80's. Older cheapie but there's something about her that I still love. I want to try L'eau D'hiver because fragrantica recommended it as similar to a discontinued favorite of mine. Out of my price range, however. I have 3 teenager's and that's grocery money lol.
