Well even being super strict can cause a child to be rebellious. I mean look at me. My mom is super strict still and has affected me too much. Fear of adults, social anxiety, and other stuff. For years ive been under harsh control and I want to do my life on my own. Not someone controlling me all day and all night. Like its stupid. Now I cant even sleep,eat, and do my chores properly because of fear from my parent gonna scream harshly at me or make me burst into tears. Now as a college student with tons of projects to do for architect, my parent is forcing me to go find a job. I'm not ready yet for that since my schedule is full but.... Hope for the best I'll leave anytime soon ... I really wanna have a very peaceful day without everyday fighting amd screaming. For my mom is too strict

I would actually guess that she left her diary out on purpose for her mother to find so she could threaten her parents without directly threatening them. It also gives her a loophole if her parents confront her about it to say "well you werent suppose to read that anyways" and if her parents had called the police about it she could say it is clearly fake, call it her "writing journal" or dream journal or whatever. And another note, she has a cell phone she is really good at keeping away from her parents, why would she not journal in her phone or use the same techniques to keep her journal away from her parents as she does with her phone if she truly didnt want them to read it? While I agree that parents do not have as much of a right to their childs privacy as a lot of parents try to claim (so long as the child is not endangering themselves or others), these parents have good reason to be snooping to try to find out what is a lie and what isnt as their daughter is (potentially) putting both herself and a possible child (which is a lie) in danger, and like it or not they are still responsible for their daughters actions. Once the girl reaches 18 though, they have no right to anything other than kicking their daughter out if they dont like her behavior. I'd prefer violating a little bit of trust by reading my kids diary rather than finding out they were dead at 3am. This isnt the parents punishing their daughter over expressing her emotions towards them in writing, this is her parents worried she is going to get arrested or killed.

r e d - it’s not dumb, babe. I’ve been there as well. At sixteen, I ran away with a boyfriend and we tried to get pregnant. We were young, and thought we were “adults”. Thank God we didn’t succeed. I wouldn’t have been able, at sixteen, to give ANY child what they needed. Some young girls tend to look for love in all the wrong places. I just needed MY mom. From there, our relationship became much stronger. I just didn’t know how to tell people what I needed.

When my daughter was a teenager I knew she was pregnant just from her symptoms and her physical changes but I was constantly paying attention to my teenagers and all areas of their life Body Soul and mind and of course activities. As a parent I was her pregnancy test. Also I had to constantly improve my relationship with her and meet her on her terms and not be accusational but open a communication process on her level which was very difficult for me as a parent. I had to trust her even though there is no reason for trust but the relationship blossomed once I Let Go of my attitude.
