    I'm so glad you reviewed this grow light Jeff !! It definitely helps with a choice of what to buy. Amazing light from such a small area ! Thanks again

    Had a busy week so just now catching up TH-cam videos. I have all my lights but did order a 24x48x72 commercial shelving until from Costco online. Should be here today or tomorrow then it's winter planting of greens and herbs and anything else you think I can grow indoors (hint hint) to have fresh veg for the winter. I will start seedlings mid Feb. Hope you are having a great week. Cheers 🍻

      So awesome Bev! The track can grow greens, then double as a seedling rack for spring! Brilliant!

    I need to add a light I'm in the US. Amazon is out of stock. Glad to see lights are getting more affordable. Love your channel.

      Hey Michael, you can try this one as well. Essentially the same output: amzn.to/3xVMh2Z

    It's $69 here in Ontario so with tax it's just under $78 which is still pretty good. Plus I should have it by Wed. and it's Sat now !! Woohoo !! lol Thanks Jeff ;)

      @@TheRipeTomatoFarms Well I have a relatively small lemon tree that I bring in for the winter (about 2.5' in dia ) so I thought I'd hang it above that and then circle that big pot with small pots of herbs, Possibly cilantro, garlic chives, basil and whatever I else I can squeeze in lol

    Thnx for the review! 👍🏽 this really helps with my decision process for the winter seedlings I'll be growing in about 2 weeks. 🥰

      I was really surprised at the light given off for the price. I need to test with some more indoor plants, and of course seedlings. but early impressions were good!

    Interesting, affordable lighting option Jeff. I'll be interested to see how you like it going forward. I'm somewhat leery of the non-meanwell driver but waiting to see how you make out with this light. Definitely a better price point than the SF!

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same here Kevin...the driver is what I'm most interested in as the boards and diodes all appear to be relatively ubiquitous among the grow lights.

    That’s a pretty good deal. I bought a Viparspectra of the same size for about $68. Although the Viparspectra has adjustsble light intensity.

    I have a 4 adjustable arm clip grow light with different settings for light and timer. I find it perfect for my 2 1/2 x 27in x 4ft greenhouse

    Hello, to grow plants indoors, you need a minimum of 250 PPFD for seedlings and small plants, and at least 400 to 600 PPFD to make them grow and bear fruit (as for the strawberry plant).
    The best way to know the distance of the led lamp in height from the plant is to use a PAR Meter like Apogee or Photobio (cheaper). To get an idea, there are free apps that can convert your smartphone to a PAR meter, but that will only give an estimate (it's not accurate).

    Thank you I got mine. Amazon was 250.00

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you get the bigger size Tammy? $250 is a bit expensive for this one...don't pay more than $75 for it.....once you get past $150, there's much better lights, from this company and others.

    hi, very interesting as usual.
    the one question I would like an answer to is how much electricity a 12h on / 12h off, will be used on a all month.?
    I personally think that it is as important as the price.

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That depends on where you live. All we have is knowns....100W light on for 12 hours is going to consume 1.2KWhrs per day. Depending on if the month has 29,30, or 31 days, that's going to be 34.8 KWhrs, 36 KWhrs, or 37.2 KWhrs. Multiply the applicable # of days in the month you want to know with your local electrical rate, voila, there's your answer. I pay 10 cents per KWhr...so a 30 day month costs me $3.60 to run the light half on half off.

  • @christine3794
    @christine3794 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I went to the US website and the price is a lot more.
    The direct website has the $50 price with free shipping, but out of Canada. Do you or anyone know how long it takes to get it out of Canada given the Covid variant situation and if any additional price involved?

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The QB1 sold out in the US Christine...crazy! The light that the American link take you to costs more because it is the next model up....its 2x the size. So crazy. The rep told me they ship within 2 business days, not sure if that's from Canada to the US though.

    Looking at your amazon usa link right now and the current published price is $126.99 which to me is substantially more than a sub $50 light... just saying to tip you off...

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And if you look at the light the link takes you to, you'll see its for the next model up because the 2x2 one is sold out across America. The light in the link is double the size/output.
