Just finished the game the other day, I've got a lot to learn for my next playthrough.

This was a great run to watch.
I didn't give this game enough of a chance when it first came out because I didn't like Nero's prosthetic arm mechanics, but seeing the rest of the game played by pros definitely makes me want to go back and give it another go.
He gets his old mechanics back later u have best of both worlds then

that went REAL under estimate. I wonder why the estimate was a lot higher than how long this actually took, maybe this run was just unexpectedly very smooth lol
The estimate was for both incentives one of them being a higher difficulty and the other playing a long cutscene. It also had much faster loads than what Cosmic had at home when he estimated

I almost fight vergil for like 50 mins and you finish the game for 1 hour...
I was actually wondering if that first fight against Urison was supposed to be winnable. I thought the game just makes him forever untargetable after a certain amount of damage and trolls us. The more you know!
1st fight u can win and get an alternative ending
You can win all of em except the one where youre supposed to lose as Dante, because if you won as Dante, it would be a time paradox.
i thought V's awakened griffon and shadow only cost one bar of devil trigger gauge

Only Nero, since remapping for Dante and V will lose me time in the menu. For Nero, I put shoot on L1, Breakaway on the d-pad, and Devil Trigger on square.
Angel Berrios of course they changed the layout to maximize the damage output. It’s especially important for nero as his maximum damage output utilizes both the arms and the blue rose and it’s physically impossible to simultaneously charge both at the same time.
You have to. It's practically impossible to charge and do melee combat under default control.
I hope we get to see another speed run but in Turbo Mode.
What happened in 1:15:00 i confused
The fact that V was half of Vergil was supposed to be a big reveal even though it was extremely obvious, so the audience was faking a reaction as a joke when the commentators brought it up.
He literally sAYS "I RUN DMC and ITS TRICKY" how has no one else caught that lmao. Artist and Song.

I think it's preemptively hitting start to skip cutscenes just a bit too early.
It's to skip the slow mo death cam that happens when you kill the last enemy of the room
I can't help but notice, that the green orb has a surprising number of edges and corners.
It's appropriate that the only two DMC games to have these out of bounds skips are Reboot and 5

Human
DMC5 is bar none the coolest game I've ever played. It beats out all the other DMC's, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, Nier Automata or anything else you can think of. I can't think of another game that pulled a broader banana grin on my face than this game did. Combat is not just visceral, engaging and flowing, it's an open canvas. It really invites you to play and experiment with all moves in a way that no other character action or spectacle fighter game has done before.
Edit: You get a motorcycle as a weapon that splits into a set of dual chainsaws. Even Warhammer 40k can't top that.

WR was about well below 1:34 at the time this run happened, for the record DeCosmic himself estabilished new WR nine days ago at 1:29 (1:19 without counting the loading time)

So you cannot kill urizen in the prologue and just dip out of there?
You can actually do that. If you kill him in the prologue mission you immediately unlock Sons of Sparda difficulty. But there's not really a point in speedrunning that since you don't have any special attacks to work with in new game mode.

Graphically, the game is very sharp, but the environments are so dark and drab, too many "organ" looking levels. It would've been nice if they had more diverse locations: castles, dungeons, fields. I like the concept of V, they should've kept it just Dante and V, no need for Nero.
Whaaat, Nero is awesome, and he’s responsible for the epic finale of this game! DMC5 wouldn’t be the same without him!
Been playing DMC since I was a kid and I have owned and enjoyed all DMC until DMC 5. The game just doesn't interest me at all.
Why its story is amazing
This game is so meh..when compared to dmc1 or dmc3. Cant find that tone of "darkness" or slight horror from the first or the excitment of progressing thru that tower to face virgil for the first time on the 3rd instalment. Good action tho.
I can understand what you mean, but calling DMC V a meh is just not it chief. It easily trumps all other games in the series as a whole. Previous DMC's are great, but as a full package, V is superior.

I personally heavily prefer DMC5. The gameplay is just so far superior to any other installment. The original really doesn’t hold up, so not sure what you’re talking about there, but I agree DMC3 is pretty close.
