Listen I work a lot but one of the things I absolutely adore is the level of skill and hard work you put into everything featured on both channels and on twitch. It's very impressive and inspiring. I mean that wholeheartedly. Thanks what you do for everyone who is lucky to see a reaction.
The great John Lithgow was Prince Farquaad. He played Joe Cooper's father-in-law, Donald, in "Interstellar". Lithgow deserves a LOT more praise for his great career. The man makes every film better. The man is TALENTED! One of his best roles was playing a former NFL linebacker who had a sex change in the dark comedy, "The World According to Garp" (1982) - starring Robin Williams and Glenn Close.
This movie was SOOO formative to my sense of humor, I realized when rewatching it recently that so many jokes I make come from here. I still remember quite clearly that the previews from this movie looked soooo stupid, but when it came out, it was the only movie remotely appropriate for me to see, so we watched it and it was so, so much better and funnier and smarter than it ever looked. Really loved your review!
DreamWorks had such little faith in this movie's success that it was considered a punishment to work on it. Animators who weren't keeping up on the production of _The Prince of Egypt_ (another great movie) would "get Shrek'd" and have to work on this one. _Shrek_ originally was going to be a 2D animated film with Chris Farley doing the voice (there's videos of Chris' VO sessions online) and a 1999 release date. Farley's passing led to recasting Mike Myers in the lead role and redoing the animation in 3D. Out of the entire series, the second one is the best.
Of course no one ever mentions that marrying a princess doesn't make you a king, it just makes you a prince-consort. Even if the princess inherits and becomes queen, it's still just king-consort.

I'm so happy you enjoyed watching this movie, but me personally, I would give this movie a 5/5 always because of how much it means to me nostalgically, and because, in my opinion, it's a masterpiece and a classic to watch. There is a fan theory that the dragon is actually a princess that was cursed into becoming a dragon that's why she doesn't speak like the other fairy tail creatures so she can't ask for help. Also the first fairytale creature dragon saw speak was donkey who she assumed was cursed as well.

The great Chris Farley was actually going to voice Shrek, but he sadly passed away right before he was able to finish all the lines. Then they casted Mike Myers as Shrek, but he had them rewrite the movie to suit him more. They also changed the animation style completely. The only scene that they didn't change was that campfire scene that you partially showed in the intro. On TH-cam there is a rough sketch of that scene with Chris Farley and Eddie Murphy doing the lines. In this Mike Myers version of Shrek that we got, I think there is a classic Chris Farley joke/reference, but I forget what it was. I just had an idea. Now that we have AI, they could use it to finish the rest of the lines that Chris Farley didn't get to do. And then they could theoretically finish that original version of Shrek and make that movie.. I miss Chris Farley.
You missed it in the beginning when they were rounding up the fairies tail creatures. You see the three bears. The papa bear, and the baby bear are in one cage and the mama bears in the other cage. Later on when you see Lord Faquas Bedroom the mama bear is now a rug on his floor. You can tell by the pink bow.

I watched the full version on Patreon and her playful banter, consummate wit, and charmingly cute nature transform every reaction, regardless of genre, into something special, and her treatment of this early 2k animation is no exception. Not to mention, she is as cute as a button.😉❤

The great Chris Farley was actually going to voice Shrek, but he sadly passed away right before he was able to finish all the lines. Then they casted Mike Myers as Shrek, but he had them rewrite the movie to suit him more. They also changed the animation style completely.
The only scene that they didn't change was that campfire scene that you partially showed in the intro. On TH-cam there is a rough sketch of that scene with Chris Farley and Eddie Murphy doing the lines.
In this Mike Myers version of Shrek that we got, I think there is a classic Chris Farley joke/reference, but I forget what it was.
I just had an idea. Now that we have AI, they could use it to finish the rest of the lines that Chris Farley didn't get to do. And then they could theoretically finish that original version of Shrek and make that movie.. I miss Chris Farley.

If you see Shrek 2, it's a great movie, you'll like it a lot.
You missed it in the beginning when they were rounding up the fairies tail creatures. You see the three bears. The papa bear, and the baby bear are in one cage and the mama bears in the other cage. Later on when you see Lord Faquas Bedroom the mama bear is now a rug on his floor. You can tell by the pink bow.
Anybody who has watched Eddie Murphy ('Donkey') movies ('Another 48 hours' ... 'Daddy day care' ... 'Beverly Hills Cop' ... 'Coming to America'... 'Trading places'...) know his gift for gab... He is hilarious 😂He's also a stand up comedian...
Mike Myers (who voiced 'Shrek') is best known for comedy movies like "Wayne's World"... "Wayne's World II" ... 'Austin Powers'... "So I married an axe murderer"...
Of course, everyone knows Cameron Diaz ('The Mask '... 'The other woman'... 'Vanilla Sky'...)

This scene with all the fairy tale creatures in the swamp is WAAY funnier the older you get. Imagine opening your front door and seeing HUNDREDS of poor strangers and animals camping in your front yard. You think they’re partying but you find out your local politician designating the front lawn of your home as a resettlement facility.

Shrek is voiced by Mike Myers.. a local Toronto boy; they even named a street after him in the surburb/city of Scarborough (It's a very short street 🙃😮). He started on Saturday Night Live, a late night US series. Eddie Murphy did SML when he started to, before switching to movies. Mike also Did Wayne's World, Austin Powers. Not sure if you've seen Inglorious Basterds, but he played the Brigadeer who gave Fassbender his mission briefing for Operation: Kino. 😉
