That was a perfect video! You nailed it. One thing from my experience is that no matter the breed of hound they can be hard headed and don’t let that discourage you.
I have a 2 year old female Redbone and an 11 year old Welsh Terrier. I fell in love with Redbones because my son's rescue Redbone stays with me when they travel. We don't hunt but are active. I grew up with Setters and had a springer spaniel when I was younger, and also another Welsh. I got my Redbone when I retired (!!), she was a challenging puppy but is maturing into a lovely dog. And she makes me laugh every day 😂. Her formal name is Gracie Mae Wigglebutt lol.
My wife and I recently rescued a dog that is 1/4 German Shepard 1/4 Siberian husky 1/2 coonhound. I think American English. What an interesting dog and rabbit hunter she is. She loves being out in the snow. Tes is a great dog but for the life of me, I can't figure why someone would bring a coonhound to Alaska to breed. Thanks for the information. Every little bit helps!
You’re exactly correct I would recommend if they don’t know exactly what breed they want to own then find someone that owns the different types and tag along on a few hunts and see what they hunt like
Excellent video Jamie I think you missed the blue gascon they say they are the old fashioned blueticks but this is some awesome information I'm sharing this out on my community tab #womenhunt #teamredbones
I have had good and bad in all breeds!!!! Some can be a little more junkie then others and some are more accurate in my opinion but some are a little more meaner then others but they are good in all!!!! Great video Jamie! 👍
Well honestly.. We use the Garmin Alpha 100 with the Tt 15 collar.. Its the one we purchased when we got back into hunting.. There is the Dogtra pathfinder which we have never used and the sportdog tek 2.0 which have never used either.. Honestly.. We never heard of them until.. I started following a few coonhunting channels like NITE LIFE KENNEL AND KENTUCKY COONER.. Thank you.. Appreciate you
We own Timberjacks they and are beautiful ❤️we have pups now and have several years . Yes we have English Redticks but I do not care for them at all .😚if you have chickens as we do they will tear pin apart to get them . My boyfriend is carpenter and his pens are great They will eat young as well . Loretta had to keep pups in house . But man can they hunt loud . But wild prey drive . As well .🤔but that is us don't know about anyone elses . As kid Walker all uncle's owned . And Beatles my cousin has. Very well trained . 😁

American Leopard hounds are one of the oldest treeing hound. All breeds have characteristics. She nailed this, do your research. Talk with people that know hounds. Lots of folks are very one sided about hounds.
