Patriotism is usually develop during times of war and it's main purpose is to put your country before yourself. It's what they tell people when they want them to give up their families and lifes for someone else's cause, not the country's.
Patriotism isn't bad but plenty of self observation and judgment must be practiced in order to avoid hating on other nations and their people
