Froze the funds, now we are in a horrific no man’s land. We are the first property in the chain of 3. Please help me. Where do I stand?!?! We’ve already loaded and unloaded a removals van, our seller has now got at least 1 grand in storage fees, getting more by the day. Our solicitors are absolutely no help.

I have been left hanging whilst a charge on the repossessed property I am buying is lifted. It cropped up after I signed the contract and paid the monies weeks ago. The debt company are yet to register the charge with the Land Registry and I've no idea how long I will have to remain renting. I want to know where I stand legally please, am I within my rights to ask for compensation? The property is uninhabitable and needs work so is only depleting further without attention. 😔
Sorry to hear this. Your solicitor should be advising you on this so do speak to them and they should look into it further. Any issues you believe are as a result of something your solicitor missed should be addressed at a senior partner level in the firm. You could also consider raising a complaint with the Law Society. This is shocking advice , once you exchange contracts you are legally entitled to complete , if any thing goes wrong your end .. say goodbye to your deposit and all the additional costs if you are in a chain
