But you brethren, are not in darkness, that that day ( the day of the Lord ) should overtake you as a thief. The day of the Lord is the day of the rapture. But is a connective word conjoining back to verse 2 relating to the day of the Lord. Not being overtaken as a thief doesn't mean you won't be here as most pre trib believers teach.
If we truly feel that May 14th 1948 was a fulfillment of Matthew 24:32 and Isaiah 66:8. And then look at what a generation is stated in Psalms 90:10 says "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." May 14th 1948 + 80 years = 2028 and since that is the end of the tribulation or the end of 80 years as stated in Psalms if you subtract 7 years for the tribulation you get 2021. I dont quite agree that we are living in the end times. I agree we are living close to it. We are still missing the global persucution. Jesus promised great persecution would break out against his followers and would cause many to fall away (Matt 24:9-10). It’s relatively easy to follow Christ when things are going well, but when times get tough we find out what we’re made of. Is our faith in Christ only as strong as the comfort we enjoy? If God’s enemies come and take everything will we cling to Christ or fall away? Jesus promised many would make the incomprehensible choice to fall away.

But you brethren, are not in darkness, that that day ( the day of the Lord ) should overtake you as a thief. The day of the Lord is the day of the rapture. But is a connective word conjoining back to verse 2 relating to the day of the Lord. Not being overtaken as a thief doesn't mean you won't be here as most pre trib believers teach.
If we truly feel that May 14th 1948 was a fulfillment of Matthew 24:32 and Isaiah 66:8. Then if you take what Jesus said as a Truth in Matthew 24:34 "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place." And then look at what a generation is stated in Psalms 90:10 says "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." May 14th 1948 + 80 years = 2028 and since that is the end of the tribulation or the end of 80 years as stated in Psalms if you subtract 7 years for the tribulation you get 2021. Could this be the year perhaps our savior saves us??????? Come Lord Jesus......

I dont quite agree that we are living in the end times. I agree we are living close to it. We are still missing the global persucution. Jesus promised great persecution would break out against his followers and would cause many to fall away (Matt 24:9-10). It’s relatively easy to follow Christ when things are going well, but when times get tough we find out what we’re made of. Is our faith in Christ only as strong as the comfort we enjoy? If God’s enemies come and take everything will we cling to Christ or fall away? Jesus promised many would make the incomprehensible choice to fall away.
Amaranth Avalon There is no scripture that states that ALL will have to face “persecution”; not only that, there are different TYPES, DEGREES and LEVELS of “persecution”. The scripture does say that they will be eating, drinking, planting, marrying and given in marriage....in other words, “living life AS USUAL” and etc before JESUS comes ( RAPTURE).The RAPTURE will give no alarms, warnings, sirens, whistles or bells....IT WILL JUST HAPPEN. That’s what we mean by IMMINENCE. Truly the majority will NOT BE READY...that day will OVERTAKE THEM AS A THIEF. @@SalvationinCHRISTalone888 I havent said that all must face persecution. But there is no global persecuiton yet. We have begun to see the falling away but it has not yet reached its climax. Some will survive and be able to stand before the son of man and some belivers havent been persucuted but have faced other tribulations. People will be eating and drinking as usual in the tribulation as well. Otherwise there woud be no point in the bible describing a mark you have to have to buy or sell- Many belivers mistake the tribulation with gods wrath. 16And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had themark- the name of the beast or the number of itsname. 18Here is a call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.Revelation 13:17

There are an estimated 2.2 billion Christians in the world. Even if only one billion had been true belivers this number shoud have dwindled greatly if there had been global persucution of the scale described in the bible i quoted longer up.
