Brother Ted rockin the P Bass this morning! You should play it more often I like your sound on the P Bass! Sound a lot beefier! Be well bro enjoy your weekend!
thanks, great lesson, played with feel. such a great intro part, maybe his funkiest tune. closest thing i've heard to this style of walking funk bass, with jazz and soul feel, is on the marvin gayes lps in our life time and here my dear. heavy duty love affair, funk me etc. classics.
Why has no one posted this bass player on Bobby’s recording was Mike Leech of the American sound studios house band known as the Memphis Boys . Leech Copied his mentors style of putting his strumming fingers into some Vaseline to make the bass bounce . His mentor was Tommy Cogbill, whom, in my opinion is the greatest bass player ever. He’s the bassist on Aretha’s “Respect”, “Chain of Fools “, “ Since You’ve Been Gone “, among many of her hits as well as others including Wilson Pickett and other R&B artists , joe Tex included.
Thxs Very Much Ted -You have taking my bass experience to another level.I have only been playing for 8-Years you have truly been a blessing believe me..Dannie -Dahadesigns Kitchens and Baths-Farmington Mi.
They are pretty dope but in all fairness I don’t remember what the stock pups sounded like and I rarely play pbass so I’d be remiss if I gave a comparison
Thnx for the reply. After some googling I discovered,. it was in fact James Taylor that covered it. My mistake.. it's just that this version sounds more modern than JT's
My favorite Bobby Womack song I always liked it's bassline thanks Ted
No new vids; going back to the oldies, Nice!
