This was the first time Lovebites played this venue, Miho's father used to take her hear for concerts and was supposed to be there but passed a few months before it took place. Wnat a true professional Miho is that she could play through that song while being so visibly hurting. Asami was emotional as well. Every time I watch this video it gets me.
Seeing Miho in these old videos is bittersweet but this is just heartbreaking. She put this band together drove it to a Wacken appearance, which was her dream and then suffered the loss of the most influential person in her life. This song is her attempt to deal with that loss and as many still speculate the reason she left the band. Regardless us fans who have been with group since the start, we can only hope she finds the peace and happiness she so richly deserves. No one will ever fill her shoes, she took those with her and Fami brought her own. However, no matter what this band evolves into, her spirit is forever a part of it and us LB fans are forever grateful for her vision and efforts that created this truly legendary group. Great reaction BTW as always Wave.
@@MegaChris213 Everything you said I more or less was going to type. I still 'well up' watching this video, even though I know what is going to happen with Miho.
Yeah, this one breaks me every time. You see why it was such a shock to Lovebites fans when Miho left... with this, and a concert called Five of a Kind, they really seemed like a family as well as a band. After Heavy Metal Never Dies, I thought Miho was emotional because she'd missed playing live so much, but in retrospect I wonder if she knew then that that would be her final performance with Lovebites. Such a shame that she left, but she seems to be enjoying her life, and Lovebites are re-energised with Fami, so I think it's all working out for everyone.

I had not heard this one yet but I'm pretty new to Lovebites, about a year. I sometimes wonder an artist can keep it together when they have written a song that so personal to them. Certainly an emotional song.
Without Miho, there would be no Lovebites. I am very grateful to her. Her dream of playing in Wacken is a beautiful lesson for me. Thank you, Miho. May you always be happy and have all the success in the world!
I miss Miho so much. Fami is fantastic, and all parties gotta move ahead and do what's best for them, but Miho was largely the one who drew me into Lovebites, as a (bad) bassist, and fellow disciple of Steve Harris and all things Iron Maiden. Miho's love of metal is just so pure and driving. But the truth is, for whatever mix of reasons, it was time for her to take a new journey. You could tell at a lot of the live footage after this show, that she seemed checked out. Still tearing it up and playing lights out, but she'd have this glassy eyed 1000 yd stare going on most of the shows. Her dad's passing, the COVID isolation I am sure is part of it. If there was more, issues within the band, well only they know and I respect that none of them are airing any dirty laundry if it exists. I saw Miho post a video for MAKI OYAMA, where she's tearing up the bass with her usual energy, so I do hope that means she's going to step back in. I expect if she does it'll be with a band with more focus on NWOBHM, Thrash and 80s Hard Rock, which is where her heart seems to be. And Lovebites will continue forward being Japan's hybrid of Dragonforce and Dream Theater. Maybe like Metallica & Megadeth we'll end up with 2 great sources of Metal music instead of one? Regardless, just hope they are all finding happiness in their chosen paths. Also got no clue WTF RadioRaffa is on about, there's been literally nothing I've seen remotely like that. Heck she even stayed on after her announced departure to do Painkiller, etc. Sounds like some speculative bullshit to me.
One of my favorite songs. Not just for the way the subject matter is covered, but for the musicality & performance too. Miho breaks my heart every time I hear it. But how did a man of your talents manage to get the audio so out of sync with the visuals? Very hard to watch. So many reactors seem to do it with so many great songs.
Radio raffa is wrong about LOVEBITES being taken away from her she chose to walk away from the band and was NOT EXILED in fact LOVEBITES and their label tried to negotiate with her to stay but ultimately decided to respect Miho’s decision to leave
Yeah, it is getting a little tiny bit tiring seeing the people that are 'boo hoo Miho is the heart and soul leader' and that she was forced out or thrown under the bus somehow. She left, she walked away. In fact if people watch that two part interview it is pretty easy to read in to her not being happy with the band because of direction, not even personal reasons outside of the band. She has been busy playing in various circles with other J-rock/metal/pop musicians but I don't recall seeing any shots of her in the last year+ with her former bandmates, which is a little telling to me.
@@waterwalker9600 Well they all were emotional because they hadn't been allowed on stage for over a year due to covid. But maybe it was especially so for Miho.

I always have trepidation watching reactions to this song. Even though I have viewed it many times . After watching it for the first time, I found out why Miho was crying. I still cry with her when re watching it or seeing reaction to it. Amazing she wrote this song and keeps it together for the most part. Even though it must be extremely difficult to detach her emotions why she is playing it.
Miho , what a Rock n Roll soldier she is. went thru similar thing myself for my mother, and my music not as hard. wow , respect guys, respect. i think this happened also as they were overseas at the time, but being the venue her dad used to take her to as well, jeeez, super hard. all our love to surely goes out to Miho and her new life. no Miho and there would be no Lovebites, just think of that.

This is the one song in the Lovebites catalog I feel will never be played live again. I think they even stopped after the tour in support of Clockwork Immortality. It's a great song but all the baggage attached is just too much.
At the 7:45 mark in Wave's video, Miyako nods out of respect to Miho. No matter what, if any, tension there was between Miho and other members of LB, I sense there was an underlying love and mutual support among all of them right up to her departure.
I think, Miho left because she sense Lovebites is getting more to speed/power metal with technical playing (Glory,Glory To The World). She only want to drive the band for raw pure heavy metal. This just my thought, maybe not true.
This could be one of MANY reasons. No one leaves a band over just ONE reason unless something drastic happens, which was not the case. It is always an accumulation of several reasons building up over time.

LOVEBITES - Journey To The Other Side lyrics:
Across the River Styx
Within the half eclipse
This is the beginning of your final judgement days
Now then, let’s count your sins
Lies will bring discipline
Too late to apologize, it’s time to pay the price
You’ve saved the lives of countless souls
Except your very own life
I’m suffering sorrow and pain
It’s killing me inside
Counting to forty-nine
Your sentence comes in time
Till then please let us mourn
To lighten your burden
I dedicate this song to you
It’s too early for death
I hate to say goodbye to you
But I’ve got to say…
Journey to the other side
Pray for you, always in our memories
Carry on your great legacy
Journey to the other side
I will stay strong because I know it
Won’t be long till I see you again
Someday
SOLO: miyako / midori
Counting to forty-nine
Your sentence comes in time
Till then please let us mourn
To lighten your burden
I dedicate this song to you
It’s too early for death
I hate to say goodbye to you
But I’ve got to say…
Journey to the other side
Pray for you, always in our memories
Carry on your great legacy

It's really nice to see Miyako rocking out... but on a song with this subject matter? It feels weird.

Makes no sense to continue playing it now Miho's gone. Like Nightwish's Poet And The Pendulum, it should be retired.

YA know... I've felt the same on occasion. Then I realized it doesn't matter, because she the one they have and they aren't going to replace her.
For some people this feeling slowly gone with time, her vocals grows on you.
Have you listen to all of their songs and also most of their songs lyrics is written by her.
