    Man that first engine sure was a great surprise. The second one still was interesting to see the carnage on the inside. I am beginning to feel like the second engine. Hurricane coming here in the next day or so therefore I may not see your videos later this week. Depends on damage and electric power. Thanks for all the videos.

      Yep.....apparently I coined the "corntact" and when I don't use it the natives get angry lol. Cheers my Friend! Zip~

    I'm only 21 min in, it sounds soooooo smooth! It could power a sewing machine.

    Yes, of course it sparks twice, even though the spark on TDC of the exhaust stroke is ineffective. The spark on a small engine runs off the flywheel, not the camshaft. They all do that.

    I bet yes!

    Guessing the ticking noise is normal? I have the same engine on my sears suburban 12 and I always thought the ticking was slack in the connecting rod or wrist pin.

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ticking is the valve stem to tappet clearance and they're a little chatty as you mention. Just make sure they're within specifications with feeler gauges and send it on its merry way. Zip!

    Well I hate that about the Van Guard but ya did get some good parts, 16hp sounds good , what tractor did ya say you were going to put it in Zippo? I think ya done pretty good on those engines, thanks Zippo see on the next one

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully the Intek vertical shaft turns out to be a good engine as well. The Vanguard is donating lots of good parts, which saved my bacon on the purchase. You already know by now which tractor got the 16hp lol. Cheers my Friend! Zip~

      The best way to find one is hit social media groups like on Faceballs or vintage engine websites with classifieds. Good Luck on your hunt Jean! Zip~

    How easy are those starters to find ? I have a older 16hp engine with points and would like to have a extra starter on hand. Mine also has a charging system. Don't remember the engine year off hand. Do all 16hp engines have balance shafts ?

  • @EVILDR235

    Another unrelated question. I have a Intek 6hp 190 engine. I don't want to open it up if I don't have to. Does it have a metal or plastic camshaft ? Did Briggs use both and if they did, can they be swapped ? I don't like plastic cams or lobes. I have seen to many Briggs engines with failed plastic camshafts.

    Great video!!! I’m having some trouble on a briggs flat top engine. Was hoping you could help or offer some suggestions. It appears you are the briggs guru. Im having trouble running it off of fuel. I can get it to start on starting juicing but won’t continue to run on fuel. I cleaned carb. But still having issues. Hope you can help.

      Clean the fuel lines or better put new fuel lines on ,and clean the tank . Put a clean fuel filter in it ,and put a cutoff valve in it

    I recently got a model 32 horizontal shaft. Are there any upgraded rods or anything for these motors? I have a amr500 and this 531cc Briggs and a bad idea.

    What tool cart setup is that i see that it’s a harbor freight cart but what did you do for the extra drawers in the bottom half? I have one of those carts at work and I’m always up for a little more space

    • @ZippoVarga
      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Eye Harry! I've got a video showing and telling where the extra cabinet drawers came from. Here's a link: th-cam.com/video/d6T1qdWjSOU/w-d-xo.html Time stamp when it begins is in the 7:40 time range. The two drawer box came from an older Harbor Freight rolling cart I had bought years before. Zip~

    A plus that 16 hp briggs is a winner there such a shame on that vanguard those are good engines. Would have been nice for a application but unfortunately a parts engine now.

      @ZippoVarga  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eh, I did with the 16hp. The Vanguard tho......that was a bit sad. I still have the Intek to go through. Fingers crossed it's a viable engine because I'm critically low on vertical shaft engine replacements. Cheers Bill!! Zip~
