A bit thank you for Ritual for sponsoring this video on this trip to LA. And also a big thank you to Dan (from ‪@DanVsWorld‬ ) and Bill and Lisa (from ‪@billandlisa‬ ) for taking the time to show me great places, as well as magical places, in LA!
Los Angeles is such an amazing city with so many friendly faces and great iconic eateries. Thank you to all the great suggestions on places to eat in LA and it's surrounding areas. I did not not there were so many iconic delis offering great pastrami in the area, from Carter's, to Brent's, to Langer's! I could not resist and had to stop of at one of these places. And how can resist the great Seafood feast California has to offer, and I decided to try the ultimate seafood feast with sweet succulent shrimp, and lobster!
First stop, Langer's. Given the limited time in LA, I had to choose one and I hope I chose wisely; but to be honest, one can't really go wrong with any of these places. Langer's, from what I've heard, is an LA institution serving up great pastrami sandwiches, comforting Matzo Ball soup, crispy potato pancakes (latkes), and the all important egg-cream! ...and they've been doing so for over 70 years!
Great food and more importantly, great servers and diners make this a meal an event in the most wonderful and fulling way. Did I over order? --Yes! ... and did I finish? --you bet! The half sandwich / half soup with pastrami and Munster cheese on rye was definitely the way to go!
And that was just a meal to provide some sustenance for the drive to San Pedro to visit the iconic San Pedro fish market who has been serving up massive platters of seafood since 1956! Fresh lobsters, crabs, shrimp and any and all seafood you can imagine! From whole fish fried up to a sampling of halibut, swordfish, and seabass all cooked to perfection. The lines are long and in the end, I was not able to get a beer, but thanks to the kindness and generosity of the fellow customers, I got to share a ginormous bottle of beer. What can be better than a cold beer? -- A cold beer offered by good friends!
The seafood did me in.. Managed to finish the lobster, the jumbo scallops, and the seabass, but that mountain of shrimp proved to be a challenge far too great! Thank you so much for joining me on this adventure and hope you get a chance to try these great places!

Two years ago I fell down the TH-cam travel/food wormhole. I always pretend that I am the one traveling and eating this fantastic food (usually while eating a drab ham or tuna sandwich) . Hopefully if I make it to retirement in 8 years, I will be able to experience some of these adventures.
I will say of all the videos I watch a week during my down time, your videos stand out. Your positivity and constant smiling is really refreshing in todays world.

Hi Tim. Like your videos. Went to AYCE buffet at the Palms in Las Vegas and they didn't have nearly as much food as in your video. Also the one day per week all you can eat lobster was limited to only one per person due to shortage after waiting on line for 4 hours to get into the buffet. Tim ... That Sea Bass was overcooked and on the dry side.
I have cooked sea Bass a great many times, and simply looking at it I can tell if its cooked correctly or not.
It should be white and glissening....Not dull like yours .

Nice meal Tim except your right, a whole sandwich would have been a better choice. As for the fish market I have a few words. First of all the did have a great verity of seafood. Second I think the food was way over priced and was served in a typical tourist trap fashion. As my son lives in California and has told me many times the prices of food is outrageous especially the seafood. So as you presented a fine video as usual Tim, we appreciate you efforts but shame on the tourist traps.A side note: a don’t mind paying extra for the experience but it is a shame this is what things have come to. Be well, be safe my friend and peace.

@@TimLeeLetsGo San Pedro looked wonderful but you have much more patience than I do. I grew up on the suburban side of JFK airport so I’m spoiled when it comes to certain foods. I’ve found decent pizza here in Boston but not much that drives me crazy like in NYC and bagels here are too sweet but man, I miss NYC deli and even those are fading fast. My heart ached when I found out the Carnegie was closing.

Tim I don’t understand how you consistently allow the wait staff to sit you at a small table. Knowing you order so many dishes for your yutube vlog channel you should say something to them. In addition they sat you so close to the table beside you that the conversations of the two ladies were dominating your description of Langers.
