- So you've decided to shoot a match, you've signed up on Practiscore, and you've been able to dry fire or practice in preparation for it, how does shooting the match actually go? Can you show up with your gun out? What's it like to walk stages? How does the whole match flow? In this final video for our USPSA series, Brennan and Justin shoot a local match and answer all these questions and show you vlog style how a USPSA match usually goes.
Big thanks to Shultz Gun Club in Muskego, WI and NISA (Northern Illinois Shooters Association) as well as our good friend Eric Kamps for accommodating us and making this possible.

One thing I'd like to point out is if you show up1.5 hours early and stages are still being built, do not start walking them, ask where you can help. As you said, it's a volunteer sport.
I just shot my first match about 3 weeks ago. It had been about 10 years since I've fired a gun and everyone was super helpful and friendly. A buddy let me borrow his gear and I had an absolute blast! I even achieved my goal of not finishing last. I wish I had seen this series before I had gone but I'm glad its here. Please make more competition content!
Thank you so much. I'm getting ready to sign up for my first USPSA match. This video is the best I've seen to help me understand what I need to do.
Eric Kamps. An amazingly positive, inspiring and helpful individual. Schultz, and amazing club. Great video!
Eric is the man!
Couldn't agree more!
Love the dude smoking a cigar 😂
Amazing video, Ive only seen videos where they talk about the match versus you brought us through a whole match and gave us step by step play, Appreciate your channel and hardwork!
Glad you liked it! We really enjoyed filming this format!
I’m going to be shooting my first match in the first week and this video has been the best resource in preparation. The step by step explanations as well as breakdowns of thought process throughout the stages are awesome insight. Appreciate the great content!
We’re glad it was helpful!
Love this content you guys have been putting out! Super useful for someone interested in getting into competitions.
That was awesome. Thanks.
Great video!! Very informative!
Great intro/overview. Thanks 👍
All signed up for my first match next weekend thanks to this series 🤙🏽
Amazing job
More of this content please 👏
Great video!
Awesome video.
Thanks for this
Good stuff man.
Keep it up🇺🇲
What an informative video! I liked how you guys kept it real and talked through your thought process while walking the stage and analyzing your run afterwards. I'll be sharing this with my fellow shooting friends as well!
Fantastic!! Thanks for watching and sharing!
40:12 “I just kinda saw brown and started shooting” 😂😂 every cop ever. I’m JP
This was great! Going to observe for the first time tomorrow at my local club. Started last summer with steel challenge and now looking into uspsa. Very informative. Keep up the good work👍🏼👍🏼
Careful…..it’s gets addicting real quick!
I've heard a couple of those names before down at NPCCC. Some heavy hitters. That looks like a really nice club.
Looks like a lot of fun I need to see what Indiana has I'd love to get good enough to do this !!!
Great video. The best I've seen so far that really gives you a feel for a match. That said...... I find it makes me wonder if I can actually do a match. It looks complicated and intimidating....and fun. I've tried to find someone to hire for instructions/simulated match, but none so far.
It surprises me that there seems to be no " newcomer instructions/walk through" for USPS and/or other match organizations. Suburban Philly is my location.
Thanks again for this Great video
Love this content. If you do more maybe some first person camera shots?
Hey bro, I just found your channel/content and it's great. Please keep it coming. I am a fan of the Sig P365 family. It'd be awesome if you could get the new Radian Comp for the P365 or X-Macro for testing and evaluation. Thanks
Can you guys do an after match equipment check and cleaning.
Hey, great video. What ear protection are you using?
Your the man.
Thank you for the info.
These videos are like skate videos when i was a kid.
You get me pumped to shoot
Mission accomplished!
Great info thank you for documenting this
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video. Very informative and thorough. How do you balance the self induced pressure to get better and still have fun?
Great question. It’s something we’re still trying to figure out, and it’s a little different for everyone. But what we’ve found is to have the right mindset going into before you even start, and having buddies you can go with that can keep you honest, give you feedback, and help you have fun is really helpful. At the end of the day, it comes down to what your goals are and what you are looking to get out of it. - Justin
Well I know what I’m starting my work day playing on tv👀
When I found out that the rule book has 121 pages, it was kind of a turn off.
Have you been to c&c i thought i shot a match with you there
Nice shooting! What are popular guns for carry optic?
Glock
M&P 2.0
Walther PDP
Sig P320
CZ Shadow 2 & P10
Canik
Are the most popular ones that you will see.
Is it ok to photo mapping of each stage to study as well?
Well done guys. Shooting my intro to USPSA match tomorrow.
Awesome. Let us know in this thread how it goes!
So do I! Best of luck.
@@ljfurie4085 You too!
What bag is that bro ? Nice compartments
Savior Equipment Specialist Range Bag 🤌
Am I allowed to use a hard case for bringing the firearm to the safety table if it is only the firearm in that case or do I need to have a soft case of some sort for that?
Yes that would work no problem
How do you get the tek loks from not sliding around before putting your outter belt on? I have Velcro behind them when I put the belt on the inner but I always have to use do a few times to adjust them back and forward
Putting some adhesive Velcro loop on the inside of the Tek lok that sticks to the Velcro hook of the outer belt completely fixes that!
@@GatewayDefense now I feel stupid lol thank you!
When you shoot fast doubles at 7 yards, are you using predictive shooting or actually have time to confirm each shot?
Predictive!
Nice shirt
You already KNOW!!
What site do you use to find shoots and matches
PractiScore.com . Check out our video on how to sign up for one
When do you get to pick up your brass
Never lol
Do you get points for hitting steel targets?
Yep! 5 points each.
What belt hanger is that?
I (Justin) am using the BSPS Boss Hanger, and Brennan is using the Henning T-1000
Ok as a ( non ) uspsa player could you explain what ALPHA, DELTA, CHARLEY & MIKES mean
Those are the scores via phonetics (Alpha, Charlie, and Delta) for the target Alpha being the best score and Delta being the lowest. Mikes are misses
What range bag is that
Savior Equipment Specialist Range Bag!
Were you shooting NISA or schultz USPSA match?
NISA
If you're just starting out, keep in mind what is going on in the USPSA with the BOD. You might not see USPSA matches in your area so shoot the HF matches and don't give your money to the org until they fix their stuff.
Lots going wrong with the organization currently but that doesn’t change the fact that USPSA has long been the single best shooting sport in the US and is the reason for so many people becoming better. Regardless of what happens, that fact remains. But yes, we are big supporters of supporting PCSL and other hit factor matches in the meantime as well.
Total newbie question. What does BOD, HF and PCSL stand for?
